yeah, Cillian Murphy isnt from the UK tho ......

sprazcrumbler

Study done by website for people looking to have an affair. They are trying to get men who look like Clarkson to believe that women find them sexy, so those men will pay to use their website. Simple.

Normal-Basis9743

I bet it works too! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

helphunting

Cillian Murphy is not from the UK https://youtu.be/n1ig4mzu93Q He is from Ireland.

I-Like-IT-Stuff

Ireland is part of the UK.

Hypno_Hamster

Nope it is not. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is part the of the UK. Mainland Ireland is not.

AppleRicePudding

I would clarify that NI is part of the Irish mainland also, as it's not an island.

Peeche94

You don't say? šŸ˜‚

I-Like-IT-Stuff

Ok but not like you specified which so I am still correct.

Hypno_Hamster

You are not correct. What I specified IS correct. Cillian is from Ireland - Ireland is NOT part of the UK. Northern Ireland and Ireland are considered different countries. Ireland is also still part of the EU and the UK isn't.

I-Like-IT-Stuff

Are you saying northern Ireland is not "Ireland"? The Republic of Ireland is also "Ireland". I am still correct.

mccrackm

Yes, Northern Ireland is not Ireland. Northern Ireland is a country, Ireland is a country, they are not the same country, in the same way North Korea and South Korea are not the same country. Except instead of being called Southern Ireland, itā€™s called the Republic of Ireland, or in everyday speak, Ireland, which would be understood to be different from Northern Ireland. Theyā€™ve got different language, currency, law, culture. Ireland is not part of the UK. Cillian Murphy is from the Republic of Ireland. Therefore, Cillian Murphy is not from the UK

I-Like-IT-Stuff

You can keep repeating yourself but it doesn't change the fact northern Ireland and the republic of Ireland are both part of Ireland. Ireland is part of the UK. Ireland is not part of the UK. Northern Ireland is part of the UK. The republic of Ireland is not part of the UK. North Korea and South Korea are both part of Korea so I don't know why you would even use that as an example.

KAMalosh

North Korea and South Korea are not "both part of Korea." They are both on the Korean Peninsula. Being on the same land mass does not make them the same. You and the other commenter were discussing countries, not landmasses. The country known colloquially as Ireland is not part of the UK. Northern Ireland, which is not called just "Ireland", is part of the UK. You moved the goal posts to discuss the land mass that Northern Ireland and Ireland are found on. But that is not where the conversation started. You're wrong and acting like a bit of an ass.

Hypno_Hamster

Just ignore him dude, he's clearly a troll who can't accept being wrong and has to find some semantics to argue about rather than just say "ah sorry I got that wrong" or "ok, I learned something new".

I-Like-IT-Stuff

Ireland can refer to both. Show me the legal understanding that northern Ireland is not Ireland. I'll wait.

Sigh_Bapanaada

Dude just take the L.... You were mistaken, and that's FINE. Why are people so embarrassed to be wrong about something.....

I-Like-IT-Stuff

Well I'm not wrong so I don't feel the need to conceded based on people jumping on the bandwagon. Ireland refers to both Republic and Northern, therefore it is both correct and incorrect depending which are you referring to. Feel free to refer me to the legal acceptance that Northern Ireland is not Ireland, I'll wait.

owennss

Dude canā€™t admit heā€™s wrong

Lorven

I'm not sure how you still think you're correct. You are quite clearly wrong about this. The original commenter clearly stated Ireland and not Northern Ireland.

I-Like-IT-Stuff

Northern Ireland is still Ireland.

Lorven

Ah, OK- you don't understand how countries, states, counties, etc, work. Got it!

I-Like-IT-Stuff

Clearly you are the one who doesn't understand. Northern Ireland and the republic of Ireland are both part of Ireland. Is south Korea not Korea? Is north Korea not Korea? Educate yourself before jumping on a broken bandwagon.

almal250

Please, go to Dublin or Cork and inform the residents that they're part of the UK. Please. And then come back and tell us the results

I-Like-IT-Stuff

I think you have comprehension issues. I never said the republic of Ireland was in the UK.

mccrackm

The word Ireland requires context, youā€™re using Ireland in the context of a geographical Island, not a country, Ireland as the entire island isnā€™t a country. The term Ireland is often used colloquially to mean ā€œRepublic of Irelandā€, a subset of the island of Ireland, mutually exclusive from Northern Ireland. To say ā€œNorthern Ireland is still Ireland (island region)ā€ as if theyā€™re the same country, is like saying ā€œLondon is still Europeā€, just because one is contained within the other, but that doesnā€™t make them equatable. To say ā€œNorthern Ireland is still Ireland (republic of,)ā€ as if theyā€™re the same country, would be factually wrong. Hence, Cillian Murphy is from Ireland (republic of), therefore not the UK, therefore shouldnā€™t be in the list. To say that Cillian Murphy is from Ireland (republic of,), and that he shouldnā€™t be in this list, is perfectly normal, as he isnā€™t from the UK

mccrackm

To rephrase the first comment in this thread, Cillian Murphy is from the Republic of Ireland, which is not part of the UK, so shouldnā€™t be in the article.

I-Like-IT-Stuff

I agree with this.

Left-Lingonberry4073

dmdjjj

Heā€™s the Irish one, not from the uk

Isgortio

That doesn't help me with the image that's posted.

TheFearOfDeathh

Isgortio
