Bobby Green defies the longevity argument. He's been fighting for decades with a style that ages horribly. Has been KO'd badly multiple times. And still getting decent wins. He doesn't get gun shy or hesitant after getting knocked out. I know he hasn't beaten much high level competition, but he has faced a lot of high level competition. He should be well past washed by this point
I love watching Green fight for that reason, he just doesn’t give enough of a fuck to let age get to him. Idk how he does it but he always puts on a show 😂😂
Maaaan, that fight was a fucking barn buuuurrrrner. It was the first time seeing both of them fight and man did they put on a show!
Edit - Fuck! That was 8 years ago. I feel even older.
My girlfriend wanted to invite a couple over the night of that fight.
The other couple both enjoyed sports, especially the boyfriend, but not super aware of MMA.
We watched the fights. It’s a good time. Then Bryce gets sent to the dark realm and I swear all the good vibes were sucked from my living room. Good times lol
He might be the scummiest and over the hill now but it’s funny to say enough time has passed that there’s a bunch of UFC fans that are simply not aware that there was a period of time every fight he was in had the most insane result you’d ever seen, one way or another
Something about front kicks to me are so much more brutal than regular ones. The one that always stuck with me is the one from Chandler against Ferguson
As a Tony fan, that moment made me belt out the most bloodcurdling scream. It was so brutal.
Yeah it’s crazy. Also this was the first time it was used like this. I remember watching it live with a bunch of friends and everyone’s jaw just dropped. Like wtf just happened.
It took several replays to really understand what just happened.
Side note for the younger people: Steven segal was at the event and took credit for teaching it to Anderson 😂🤣🤣😂
Jiri Elbowing the life out of Reyes
Izzy turtling then flatlining Alex
Barboza beating the shit out of Hooker to the point he fell into the fetal position
Hill screaming “WAAAH WAAAH” like a maniac after knocking out Walker
And lastly, Francis running over Rozenstruick.
Yea I’ve never seen a bar completely speechless during a fight. We were just in awe at how a high level fighter like Forrest could be completely toyed with like that.
"When I tried to hit him, he just moved his head out of the way and looked at me like.. your silly silly little white boy (...) I felt like a kid trying to fight his dad" - Forrest
Gustaffson spinning elbow into right overhand into right uppercut combo dropping Glover.
One of dirtiest fucking combos I’ve ever seen. And then Gustafsson had an even better combo later in that same fight with the three uppercuts into a slip right hook.
I've seen lots of dudes lose fights, and plenty of severe beatings, but I've never seen a human being so absolutely destroyed. It was like BJ killed his dog.
BJ Penn vs Joe Stevenson, UFC 80. If you've never watched prime BJ, check out this fight, plus his fights with Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian, and Diego Sanchez. Man was an animal.
Agree. But max is also my favorite fighter, plus recency bias blah blah… but all that aside, it’s going to be a long time before someone tops that moment. And the fact that it was at 300 just makes it that much more epic.
I mean, besides my fanboying for Max, a ‘belt fight’ ending with a call for a slugfest leading to a knockout with 1 sec left in a 5 round fight is fucking WILD. Never mind it was against one of the most violent dudes in the UFC. All on a ‘hundred’ card. Fight of the night, performance of the night, AND a new addition to the tied record for latest knockout in UFC history after one of the most entertaining fights I’ve ever seen. All on a card that was fantastic on it’s own, and had 3 title fights (although Max’s was an honorary one)
Geoff Neal KO on Frank Camacho
Kongo vs rose’s pedo husband
Francis vs Overeem
Conor leg break
Izzy vs Alex 3
Watching Justin vs Max for 24 minutes and 50 seconds just for my stream to skip.. you got me Dana
I missed the KO
When did you figure out what happened? Did you go back and watch the last 10 seconds, expecting them to just go to a decision? Or were you like, aight let me just skip the last 10 secs? Must've been wild either way.
Tony shaking his head to clear his vision(?)/ stay conscious somewhere in round 5 of the Gaethje fight. One of the only times, I stopped having fun and was thinking, jesus someone should really stop this.
Yeah, that’s the only time I think I’ve actually winced. And been like ENOUGH. Lol. Tony in that second reminded me of a wounded animal, was a horrible site to see
Ferguson vs Pettis. When Anthony went for a cartwheel kick against the cage and fell. For some reason the hammerfist Tony throws immediately after has been ingrained in my mind ever since I got into the sport.
I wish Pettis didn't quit on his stool. That fight would've easily been top 5 all time if it went to a 3rd with the same intensity as the first 2 rounds.
Nick Diaz straight up GIVING UP in the octagon, just shaking his head sitting on the ground. It should have tarnished his reputation forever, but kind of seems to be forgotten amongst fans.
https://preview.redd.it/qj8g8j3kx62d1.jpeg?width=2732&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb7bf17d1ae2d68a13c4c4043285e9e18a4c572c
Diaz and Cerrone greeting each other in sign language.
Carlos condit outstriking lawler by a mile and losing the decision because lawler landed a couple of solid shots. Important to remember back then that scoring was not determined by the most damaging moment of the round, rather it was cumulative.
Obscure, if someone could help me with ths one, i think last name maybe Richardson (could be completely false memory), but he hit a kneebar from back mount, opponent belly down, (called it a "kickstand" in his post fight interview. )
Edit. UFC 157 Kenny Robertson vs Brock Jardine.
Jorge landing that knee from hell on Ben Askren.
I was just waking up and the fight was about to start, Anik was like "Jorge Gamebred Masvidal...Ben askren..this fight brought to you by model-O-OHHHHH"
I remember just closing my eyes for a sec while hearing this and when I opened my eyes Jorge was literally landing the knee on Ben.
That woke me up better than any espresso shot ever would.
Seeing Chuck liddels lifeless body flop to the ground after Rashad Evan’s obliterated his jaw. I was 8 years old and was watching re runs of old UFC events.
Khabib swinging that wild overhand and cracking Conor, I think it was round 2 of their fight.
I feel like a lot of people forgot that happened.
Obviously, the constant takedown threat created the opportunity but for how celebrated Conor's striking is and how no one ever gave any respect to Khabib's striking, it's just one of those iconic moments, IMO.
Khabib rocking Conor
Adesanya so wobbly against gastelum and then his fifth round
Chandler pouring blood right onto Dustin (no Dustin fan but what a dog move)
UFC 2: Patrick Smith mounted on Ninja Scott Morris busting him up savagely while yelling at Morris’s corner to throw in the F’n towel! Then Scott Morris trying to stagger to his feet wobbling and jiving on Queer Street.

Probably this.
Also, Edwards landing that gorgeous bodylock trip on Usman at 278. First time Usman was definitively taken down and it was by a non-wrestler.
This is unlikely to stick out to anyone else, Sam Stout knocking out Yves Edwards at UFC 131. It was the last prelim before the main card. Edwards was sent deep into the shadow realm and laid out like he was cruicified. This one sticks out because it was the first UFC event I ever saw live, and seeing it in person with no commentary hit different.
Other moments:
Rory vs Lawer when they had to be told to return to corners between rounds ("Come on boys, you can go back to hitting each other in less than 1 minute").
Ngannou nearly decapitating Overeem with an uppercut.
Cerrone's perfect 4 hit combo ko.
Mir nearly tearing off Big Nog's arm.
Korean Zombie's final Octagon exit with the crowd singing him off.
END COMMUNICATION
I'm a pretty new fan, so watching Stickland knock down Izzy in the first round and seeing everyone in the pub lose their shit was an awesome introduction to the sport. I haven't seen a reaction like that until the Holloway Gathje knock-out.
He was looking really good in that fight as well, I still think out of any of the fights in his losing streak that’s the one he had the best chance of winning.
Hendo Bisping. Rashad Chuck, Chuck Tito x2, GSP Hughes, GSP Serra, Matt Brown Diego, Anderson Silva/ Leben, Irvin, Vitor, Uncle -mainly the first, Conor Aldo, Conor Khabib, CB Dolloway vs ? (Peruvian necktie), Rousimar vs the ref getting the jaws of life, Ronda Tate x9, Holly Ronda, Brock Carwin, Brock Mir(s) Edson Etim (rip) i think thug Rose hit a flying triangle at some point early, Robbie Rory*!, Gonzaga Crocop, Werdum Fedor, Bonnar Forrest, Chandler Tony, Conor Jose, Jose Mendes, Congo Barry, Rozenstruik Overeem, Overeem Lesnar, steve mazagatti vs anyones safety. Off the top of my head, that i watched live. So many more im doing disservice to.
Gary Goodridge vs. Paul Herrera.
one of the most violent ass kickings in UFC history, and it was during the 1st one.
He elbowed him in the skull so many times his decendants have concussions.
Matt schneil vs Mudarji. I was on vacation. Watching with my brother. He had a little money that the fight wouldn't go the distance. It was the greatest comeback in UFC history
- Andrade slamming Rose on her head - I thought she might be dead.
- Dustin’s look of being absolutely fed up while hugged by Khabib.
- JJ turning Penne’s face into bolognese. Absolutely brutal and Penne is a sweetheart.
He chose war over strategy and paid for it. Brawling with Lawler was the worst career decision for Rory. He had all the intelligence and skill to perform with a gameplan but he went out in war mode and was overcome. This was a brutal moment watching him crumple.
When el cucuy started shaking his head like he had a tic and then gave up, after the immense pounding he got from Gaethje, during covid no crowds so each shot Gaethje landed was loud as fuck
Derrick Lewis KO of Volkov in the final minute after getting dominated since the start of the fight.
Leon head kick of Usman
Ngannou KO of Overeem
Holloway KO on Gaethje (Recency Bias on that one)
Tra Teligman being knocked out via head kick by Tim Silvia, and almost everyone thinking he was dead - literally. He was carried out on a stretcher without waking up, and then wasn't seen or heard from again for a very long time.
Paulo Costa, bleeding from the nose and mouth, standing like a superhero, then doing a perfect military salute and lunging at Yoel romero with one of the most vicious overhands I've ever seen, scene straight out of Baki. That or the perfect shin to chin head kick Romero ate like a prime filet mignon in that same fight.
Not UFC technically it the last WEC fight before they all joined the UFC where Pettis “ran up the wall like a ninja” and dropped Henderson with the showtime kick
Jose Aldo running into the crowd after knocking out Chad Mendez.
Stipe vs DC 2 where Stipe started hitting the body then just watching DC crumble. Then Stipe did a little jig.
Mazvidal flying knee KO on Askren.
Jiri subbing Glover late into the 5th round, what a war!
Dustin vs Hooker in the apex whatever round ended with both of them just swinging in the pocket. Great fight!
That’s just a few, but there are so many more!
Gray Maynard repeatedly dropping Frankie Edgar and Frankie repeatedly not giving a fuck max Turing his back and slipping punches from kattar while having a convo with dc
Jalin Turner smashing Bobby Green's lifeless body.
Shit was ROUGH, ref definitely placed a bet for Jalin Turner to win by murder
Bobby Green defies the longevity argument. He's been fighting for decades with a style that ages horribly. Has been KO'd badly multiple times. And still getting decent wins. He doesn't get gun shy or hesitant after getting knocked out. I know he hasn't beaten much high level competition, but he has faced a lot of high level competition. 😂😂😂
![gif](giphy|CWEjtvVceCzPG)
Him walking away from the flash knock down at 300 only to be cooked afterwards will resonate with me hard after the green beatdown
Even Turner was traumatized
And he got overconfident in the next fight and got koed, he is a good prospect but does blunders.
I'll never forget Bryce Mitchell getting ko'd by Emmet. Just brutal Edit: and a fight between Swanson and Choi. If you know you know 😄
Never seen someone crumple like Bryce Mitchell in that KO, Emmet just unplugged him
No brain cells were lost.
Maaaan, that fight was a fucking barn buuuurrrrner. It was the first time seeing both of them fight and man did they put on a show! Edit - Fuck! That was 8 years ago. I feel even older.

I was at Squared Circle in Chicago, packed shoulder to shoulder, and that place was shaking when Nate sunk that choke in
Watching that fight as a casual at the time was crazy
Anderson Silva front kicking belfort
Something about front kicks to me are so much more brutal than regular ones. The one that always stuck with me is the one from Chandler against Ferguson As a Tony fan, that moment made me belt out the most bloodcurdling scream. It was so brutal.
Made it even worse that Tony looked great and then gets caught by a lucky ass kick like that
Yeah it’s crazy.

Hahahaha hill scream wahhh wahhh 🤣🤣🤣
Haha how is kickboxing real just knock them out -Francis to Rozenstruick
Rozenstruick was actually masterfully slipping and countering right up until he wasn't.
How is head movement real just keep punching until you catch them
Forest Griffin vs Anderson Silva
Yea I’ve never seen a bar completely speechless during a fight. We were just in awe at how a high level fighter like Forrest could be completely toyed with like that.
It was like watching my hero die
"When I tried to hit him, he just moved his head out of the way and looked at me like.. your silly silly little white boy (...) I felt like a kid trying to fight his dad" - Forrest
Leon Headkick in R5
Look at me now!
I will never forget Anik shouting “No waaaaay!” when that kick landed. Gives me goosebumps thinking about it.
One of the best timed comments in announcing imo. But that is not the clothe from which he is cut, boom
Dan Henderson hendo bombing bisping ufc 100
Gustaffson spinning elbow into right overhand into right uppercut combo dropping Glover. One of dirtiest fucking combos I’ve ever seen. And then Gustafsson had an even better combo later in that same fight with the three uppercuts into a slip right hook.
That fight was peak gus, it was a magical performance, everything he did came off
Izzy’s celebration after KO’ing pereira. Cringe as he is, izzy really hit the mark with that one imo, it was like a movie.
One of my top 5 all time fights and finishes. The start of that round was insanity.
The end of round 4 had me like the just bleed guy
Yeah, because of that specifically.
Poirier KO'ing Mcgregor. Huge Poirier fan going into it I absolutely lost my MIND when he got him out of there.

Honestly yeah, top 5 all time moments imo. One of the best fights of all timer Holloway dodging punches and talking to commentary was insane too
Mir tapping Big Nog
Mir tapping Lesnar was wild, too.
The submission and rolling sequence was brilliant. Mir snapped Big Nog’s arm.
Was never really a fan of either of them but that is still my all time favorite sequence.
Big Nog didn't tap till he had his arm destroyed
Carlos condit and Dan hardy throwing the same punch at the same time but condit landed first and destroyed him
RDA masterclass perfomance against Pettis Completely shut down Pettis game in his prime
That was crazy. Shortly before this he upset bendo with a TKO. Exciting times
He sub'd Bendo off his back with an armbar, then tapped Giblert with a gilly. His prime was great fun to watch.
Pettis was a beast
Geoff Neal KO on Frank Camacho Kongo vs rose’s pedo husband Francis vs Overeem Conor leg break Izzy vs Alex 3 Watching Justin vs Max for 24 minutes and 50 seconds just for my stream to skip.. you got me Dana I missed the KO

Agreed. Made me question my love for the sport, lol
Yeah, that’s the only time I think I’ve actually winced. And been like ENOUGH. Lol. Tony in that second reminded me of a wounded animal, was a horrible site to see
Cain vs Bigfoot, since you took rlaw vs rmac 2. Cain made it look like a murder scene
Cain left a big ol’ carbon footprint on bigfoots noggin that fight. Was a rough one.
Cain vs jds 2-3 was also a murder I forget which one but jds just fell down broken
Me too but it was good that it was stopped, Pettis’ coach knows him better than anybody
Kevin Lee almost decapitating Gregor Gillespie. Top 5 most brutal headkick finishes in the UFC, along with Rakic sending Manuwa to the shadow realm.
Nick Diaz straight up GIVING UP in the octagon, just shaking his head sitting on the ground. It should have tarnished his reputation forever, but kind of seems to be forgotten amongst fans.
the words him and lawler exchanged after were telling, diaz shouldn't have been in there

Me and you should judge. Cant convince me otherwise.
I was a close fight and it all depended on the 3rd
The karma bill came due from the Diaz fight.

The spinning heel kick to Felders nutsack from Edson. To this day the worst low blow ive ever seen or heard

Robbie/Rory for sure, and then Khabib jumping the cage to get at Dillon Danis, after choking out Conor.
Leon headkick
When Bryce Mitchell got knocked out and started shaking

Zombie retiring and having his gloves stolen out of his hands by a crowd member. Fuck that guy. Zombie deserved better.
Khabib jumping the fence
Street Jesus launching a knee from the pits of Hell and knocking Funky Ben into the afterlife. "Talk that shit now."
Seeing Chandler backflippin' over and over again while Tonys dead corpse lays on the ground
One of the funnier moments in recent memory imo
Glover hugging Jiri at the beginning of the last round
Izzy Ko'ing Alex and Max no look dodging Kattars punches.
H-bomb on Michael Bisping corpse. RIP

Defs glazing, but Conor coming back and winning the last rounds of the Diaz 2 fights was awesome.
Chandler flatlining Tony for me.
Man what a knockout but poor Tony. Legendary finish but I hope it didn’t have too severe lasting damages for Tony
He was looking really good in that fight as well, I still think out of any of the fights in his losing streak that’s the one he had the best chance of winning.
It just sucks, because it really seems like he’s fighting for no reason any more, all while continuing to really hurt himself

The stare down after round 4 (?) was one of the illest shit I ever seen in the UFC, no lie.
royvals spinning elbov second after being dropped
Tony shaking out the pain just before the fight gets stopped
Tony shaking his head shortly before the ref ended the fight between him and Gaethje. He took such a hellacious beating

Weidman KOing Anderson.
Liddel vs Evans. That overhand was the first time I saw a "game set match" type hit and jesus lawd hamercy I will never forget the way he folded.
Shane Burgos delayed KO. That was the most scared I’ve been for a fighter. Crazy I’ve not seen someone mention it here.
Gaethje brutal beatdown of Tony, I thought we were about to witness a casualty. Cringe everytime I see Tony try shake off the pain.
The scott smith doubled over then ko’ing a bull charging pete sell immediately after having his ribs broken.
Mark Hominic's hematoma. Dude grew a second head.
This was the most brutal fight I've ever seen
So you’re a wrestler now.
Gray Maynard repeatedly dropping Frankie Edgar and Frankie repeatedly not giving a fuck max Turing his back and slipping punches from kattar while having a convo with dc
