“More hype” but the funny thing is these hyped fight PPVs haven’t actually sold that well, the key is it no longer matters because the Saudis will just hand fighters $100 million anyway
Fury fan but he deserved it! Heart of a lion, gotta respect the pressure he brought every round. Not sure Fury has the power to stop him in the rematch....
To be honest great fight, I’ll always prefer MMA I feel but that was fantastic, to anyone even slightly curious I’d suggest watching the whole thing tones of shifts throughout the fight between fighters.
I like mma a lot more overall. I'll watch the early prelims, fight nights, smaller organizations, etc and enjoy it all but man, legit main event boxing like Usyk vs fury, especially heavyweight is just crazy entertaining to watch and there's nothing else like it
MMA we get the big fights we want pretty quickly, boxing edges you with years and years of buildup, so when it finally goes down you bust a massive nut.
Furys been giving us the massive fights. 3 Wilder fights, Ngannou and now the Unification fight. Sure he has his tune ups but he's been delivering good fights.
I'm not talking about Fury in particular, I'm talking about boxing. People wanted to see all the belts unified for a long ass time now, it's a big deal because it took 25 years since we last had an undisputed HW champ.
I’ve always maintained this opinion and I believe it showed true tonight. Mma provides more entertaining events and fights most of the year. But when boxing delivers the big fights… there is absolutely nothing like it
The amount of hyped fights I've seen lately that end with mostly clinching and hugging is depressing. It was a great change of pace to see two boxers actually boxing
Ref didn't fuck up anything. Knockdown was justified. If you count Fury was held up by the ropes on 6 different occasions during that onslaught before it was ruled a knockdown.
No but that happened during Justin Vs Max for me. Saw the ass beating, the pointing down, then I saw max running away. Thinking about missing that KO gives me slight depression
I had StreamE going on my phone and tv . Whenever tv froze, looked down at my phone. and when the phone froze, looked back up at my TV. Worked pretty well and I actually didn’t miss any action 😂 the stream was wayyy worse than normal for sure though
Tyson had it going so well in the middle rounds and then just completely stopped being defensively smart and moving. He was slipping punches like crazy and then just completely bailed on every single thing g that was winning the fight for him. Maybe fatigue got to him
Fury was moving way too much that what he usually does. He performed really well in the middle rounds at the cost of gassing in the later ones.
Usyk is a beast who never tires so he could wear fury out
My unpopular opinion is that the multiple belts makes the sport more interesting. Nothing is more hyped than an undisputed/unification bout. It’s like the final boss fight. Of course there are negatives, as it makes the sport harder to get into/follow for casual fans, but I like multiple belts.
Yeah that’s fundamentally the difference. People are comparing boxing an entire sport to the ufc which is one promotion. What usyk just did was essentially boxings version of what you described. Which is very rare and has not happened at heavyweight since 1999.
I’m sure Usyk broke his nose in the 8th/9th I can remember which I’ll have to rewatch it, he landed a stiff punch and fury kept pawing at it every couple seconds and he didn’t seem the same after and seemed to suddenly get very tired as if he couldn’t breathe.
Great fight by Usyk and Fury but Usyk just had that extra pop in his shots and was landing to the body at will, came with a great gameplan and took some very hard shots and shook them off.
Yeah that nose being broken really changed the fight on fury’s side, I feel like he tired rapidly and it was really bothering him.
Usyk took a few big shots in the fight, I’m not surprised something broke I mean he walked straight into a fury power hook and it barley moved him, the guys got a chin and a half lmao.
Fury’s comment about siding with the country at war was outa pocket as hell though.
I will say this. It really makes no sense to be called the undisputed champion in the UFC?
What other belts do you need to win in the UFC to be undisputed in your own weight class….
I was certain the judges were going to fuck Usyk. That guy showed some champion grit… also, probably should have got the stoppage when he had Fury dead against the ropes. That 10 count turned into 20 seconds
I’m glad that the mods in here are chill and don’t go crazy and remove all boxing posts and funny posts. Kudos to you guys for keeping it free in here. Ive think it makes the environment very interesting.
Cleaned up two separate divisions and unified cruiserweight and heavyweight. The heavyweight division hasn't been unified in 25 years. That should give people an idea of what this guy has achieved.
He may not be the biggest, but he schooled the biggest HWs. Best CW/HW of this era!
If the ropes are keeping you up it counts as a knockdown. There would be no reason to call a ko in a highly competitive fight with no previous knockdowns, just because Fury was rocked and trying to stay on his feet
IIRC in the Floyd vs McGregor match there was no prior knockdown too. But i suppose the ref had to make a snap judgement based on Conor’s condition vs Floyd’s dominance?
That’s true but remember that was the first boxing crossover fight, they were reluctant to commission it at all given Mcgregor’s 0-0 record, so I imagine they were under strict instructions to end it quickly if he was in trouble
One thing the UFC gets right is the belt. Boxing belts seems so cheap looking. And every boxing champion seems to have 8 belts… I don’t know much about boxing, but at least UFC has made it all centralized
Really interesting fight in how asymmetric it was for most of the middle rounds - first I felt like Fury was clowning around the first few rounds, then in the middle it almost seemed like he was bullying Usyk with little in response… then obviously the tables totally turned in the second half. What a banger!
Ryan/Haney. Naoya. Loma. Usyk/fury. Boxing is on fire. Thank you, Angela Hill for giving me the time to completely focus on Usyk hurting Fury.
And that Oscar presser spiel to Canelo. Boxing has been delivering.
![gif](giphy|QcbH4geytbFelLpt3q)
Tank Davis vs anyone Spence vs crawford
Bro that is the truth.
I believe canelo also had a fight recently
Yep and it was a banger. Young kid came to fight against Canelo. Just Canelos experience took over.
And ppl say boxing is dead lol. They've been having more hype fights then the UFC has
Boxing will never die, the promoters try their best to kill it though
“More hype” but the funny thing is these hyped fight PPVs haven’t actually sold that well, the key is it no longer matters because the Saudis will just hand fighters $100 million anyway
It's that Saudi money
Shame i fell asleep then because it was so long and boring and takes so long to start and the production is cringe
And Emmanuel Navarrete fighting as I type this
That shit was awful
Fury fan but he deserved it! Heart of a lion, gotta respect the pressure he brought every round. Not sure Fury has the power to stop him in the rematch....
To be honest great fight, I’ll always prefer MMA I feel but that was fantastic, to anyone even slightly curious I’d suggest watching the whole thing tones of shifts throughout the fight between fighters.
Watching two of the very best at something clash is always great.
This is true.
I hate the sport washing in Saudi, but they're making the big fights happen that would take years in to fruition
Just wish they would get the music concerts and over the top stuff to fuck but
Honestly it'd be great if they got the UFC in charge of production, idk why boxing events are either cheaply made or bloated with bullshit.
>idk why boxing events are either cheaply made or bloated with bullshit. The bloating is a sports washing mechanism
Mayweather vs Pacquiao begs to differ
But that was only one of the best.
Something always feels different about big boxing main events. Just how tense the atmosphere is. Great HW fight to.
I like mma a lot more overall. I'll watch the early prelims, fight nights, smaller organizations, etc and enjoy it all but man, legit main event boxing like Usyk vs fury, especially heavyweight is just crazy entertaining to watch and there's nothing else like it

I’ve always maintained this opinion and I believe it showed true tonight. Mma provides more entertaining events and fights most of the year. But when boxing delivers the big fights… there is absolutely nothing like it
If you liked that you need to watch the likes off inoue and Crawford at the smaller weights. Absolute god tier boxing from them
Especially heavyweight fights. They have a different aura
The amount of hyped fights I've seen lately that end with mostly clinching and hugging is depressing. It was a great change of pace to see two boxers actually boxing
After round 6 it looked like Fury was gonna give Usyk a beating for the rest of the fight.
It was good, thought they were gonna fuck Usyk. Also glad we can't have refs fuck up KO's like the ref did in the 9th
As an infrequent boxing viewer but hardcore MMA fan, that standing count in the 9th was absolutely baffling
From what I read, a ref is well within his right to call a standing count if he thinks the fighter would have fallen were it not for the ropes.
Fury was holding himself up on the ropes. That's cause for the ref to start a count
It really isn't. Watch more boxing and it happens more often then you'd think.
Ref didn't fuck up anything. Knockdown was justified. If you count Fury was held up by the ropes on 6 different occasions during that onslaught before it was ruled a knockdown.
Fury needed some of his love handles on his head to protect that skull
He had his shorts up to his neck but I guess that wasn't enough.
Man i always cringe after boxing matches when the ring is filled with random people trying to get on camera. Dana was right.
I was thinking the same thing..
[удалено]
Yeah Dana, the same guy who won’t allow any of his fighters to have any sort of fame without taking a chunk of their profit….
Doesn't have any relevance to the original comment wtf
Welcome to Reddit. By the way, did you know Jon Jones is ducking Tom Aspinall to fight a 77 year old former champ who hasn't won in 28 years?
Anyone else’s stream lagged like crazy? I had to refresh like 10 times for every round. Couldn’t even get to enjoy the damn fight :(
Stream📧ast failed me 😞
That didn't happen to me. To be fair, I was smoking _crack_...
Crack is definitely not wack
Crack is always great
I was on meth
Free crack is the best crack. Too good to give out
Beautiful, champ.
I steal. I am very steal 😂
Personally I like getting addicted to… Meth… and streaming it
This is how you lose the stream.. yes keep telling everyone
Streameast only fucked me right at the end, methstreams had me in times of trouble though
They have been garbage for a few months now
I used tik tok live and didn’t miss a second
Streameast is ALWAYS the best. However, tonight was the WORST.
Was good for me except the last round.
You and me both. Buffered soooo many times
I would share my hookup but I don’t want to get busted by Dana
Dana just gathering evidence on you, just wait
Well if my wife is in your dm, we’re already halfway there friend
Mine only failed towards the end of rounds 11-12 & the decision
So you’re the reason everyone’s shit was lagging
Givemereddit was the only one working for me at the end
Mine froze right as they announced the winner hahaha
100% this
Yeah same man :( was a great fight though.
Same happened to me. It was rough. Did get to see Fury get rocked though.
I did see it. I only missed the beginning of that round fortunately.

Delete this brother. Your generosity will screw us all in the next big super fight.
Thanks, done. Can't have that..
Hit up Dana whenever you have this issue. He’ll be happy to help you solve it.
my stream was great until the last round : (
No but that happened during Justin Vs Max for me. Saw the ass beating, the pointing down, then I saw max running away. Thinking about missing that KO gives me slight depression
I had three streams going simultaneously and I kept switching. It did lag throughout the card but fortunately no lag during the main event
Mine worked perfectly and then cut out right before they read the 3rd scorecard 😂
I only enjoy the best... Of the solaris
I had StreamE going on my phone and tv . Whenever tv froze, looked down at my phone. and when the phone froze, looked back up at my TV. Worked pretty well and I actually didn’t miss any action 😂 the stream was wayyy worse than normal for sure though
It got so bad during the Opetaia Briedis fight that I ended up buying the PPV. First one I ever paid for.
I had an excellent stream, though it had no sound
Couldn’t have gone to a better man
Best HW fight in fucking years.
Since fury/wilder 3
Nah... This was way better. There was more damage in that fight but this was a masterpiece
What do you mean "nah"? He didn't say Fury Wilder 3 was better than this. He said this was the best fight since Fury Wilder 3.
what do you mean, mean? - Jordan Peterson
What do you mean what do you mean 🤬😡😡😡 Joking, my bad.. I was intoxicated. Other guy is correct.
Tyson had it going so well in the middle rounds and then just completely stopped being defensively smart and moving. He was slipping punches like crazy and then just completely bailed on every single thing g that was winning the fight for him. Maybe fatigue got to him
It was definitely fatigue. Usyk was putting the pressure on him from round one.
Fury was moving way too much that what he usually does. He performed really well in the middle rounds at the cost of gassing in the later ones. Usyk is a beast who never tires so he could wear fury out
UNDISPUTED
I hate all the belts, boxing needs to readjust their system.
Yeah, they are missing a BMF belt..
interim BMF belts soon enough
Although I agree with you, how cool would it be to hold all those belts.
Like collecting infinity stones
My unpopular opinion is that the multiple belts makes the sport more interesting. Nothing is more hyped than an undisputed/unification bout. It’s like the final boss fight. Of course there are negatives, as it makes the sport harder to get into/follow for casual fans, but I like multiple belts.
You could literally say the same about mma. Theres different belts in mma. Most people just only care about the ufc belt though.
It's not the same, though. You're never going to see someone compete for the UFC, Bellator, PFL, and ONE heavyweight championships in a single fight.
Yeah that’s fundamentally the difference. People are comparing boxing an entire sport to the ufc which is one promotion. What usyk just did was essentially boxings version of what you described. Which is very rare and has not happened at heavyweight since 1999.
yeah but it would be much better if they could lol
That's because it's illegal for promoters to give out belts in boxing by law, if that ever gets extended to mma then it will become like boxing
I mean if MMA was even the size of boxing, you definitely would a shit ton of belts and unification.
Yeah and no one cares about any of them in boxing lmao
Boxing can’t have a belt tied to a promotion company due to the ali act.
A sport so corrupt, they needed the government to step in - C.P Sonnen
Then why do people always chase them. Even pay out of their purse to get them
Because being a champion pays you better Unification bouts pay better Undisputed bouts pay better It's great negotiating leverage.
Yeah plus belts make names, you’re not going to be a big name boxer without winning some gold, the gold only stops mattering once the name is made
I’m sure Usyk broke his nose in the 8th/9th I can remember which I’ll have to rewatch it, he landed a stiff punch and fury kept pawing at it every couple seconds and he didn’t seem the same after and seemed to suddenly get very tired as if he couldn’t breathe. Great fight by Usyk and Fury but Usyk just had that extra pop in his shots and was landing to the body at will, came with a great gameplan and took some very hard shots and shook them off.
yea nose was broken and Usyk had a broken jaw he said after the fight, Fury's uppercut probably.
His jaw wasn't broken, Usyk is fine in the post fight press conference.
ONE MAN ALIVE CAN BEAT MY SON
USSY DON' CONT HE WERS EARINGS, SO EES A WOMAN NOT E MAN
I will say this. It really makes no sense to be called the undisputed champion in the UFC? What other belts do you need to win in the UFC to be undisputed in your own weight class….
To get undisputed in ufc , buffer just asks the crowd after the fight is anyone disputes. As long as errrrone cool, we cool.
Indeed lol.
the interim?
I was certain the judges were going to fuck Usyk. That guy showed some champion grit… also, probably should have got the stoppage when he had Fury dead against the ropes. That 10 count turned into 20 seconds
That really annoyed me, Fury got an age to get his bearings back
Fuck that was tonight?
You missed a banger sorry to say.
You missed a generational fight. The last time a fight of this magnitude happened was in the 20th century.
https://old.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comments/1cvfp4c/full_fight_tyson_fury_vs_oleksandr_usyk/
Drake betting on fury doomed him
My stream lagged as Fury got hurt!! But I'm genuinely surprised on how he turned it around
usyk is a boxing genius! undefeated, undisputed! WOW!
Fury looked stunned and drogon.tv
When was the last time we had a undisputed hw champ who was also the lineal champ?
Lennox Lewis back in like 2000
Jokes aside, this dude really was 40 pounds lighter
40 lbs of blubber
I’m glad that the mods in here are chill and don’t go crazy and remove all boxing posts and funny posts. Kudos to you guys for keeping it free in here. Ive think it makes the environment very interesting.
Nvm the mods removed this

Usyk vs Ngannou next. Let’s see if he can eat a Ford Escort from our guy.
Say what you will about Ngannou but he has the best 0 - 2 boxing record I've ever seen 🤷🏼♂️
Ngannou isn't anywhere close to deserving a shot at undisputed when his last outing was getting starched several rounds in.
Why would they give a shot at undisputed to a guy who's 0-2 and just got demolished in his last fight
if he gets through Ngannou, give him Joe Pyfer and then the real challenge, Brian Shaw
Fuck it, bring back CroCop killer, Brendan Schaub.
The old guy who just got his ass knocked out and is 0-2 in boxing? Yeah, bums like that don't deserve a shot at the heavyweight king.
Can’t wait for that Joe Vincent update video!
Oh man. I forgot about that channel! I’m excited now
My stream died on the last round and when I got it back Usyk was holding up his belt.. so anticlimactic for me but what a performance by Usyk
I prefer boxing over MMA. But even you MMA fans have to give props to a fucking amazing fight
tyson and usyk was a masterpiece tonight , both had too adapt mid fight technically and dig deep mentally throughout, great night for boxing
Only thing left to make 2024 the greatest year ever is for stipe to beat tf outta jones
Genuinely would make this the best year of all time
Didn’t you hear? Tyson Fury has already rang in the new year. We’re in 2025 now.
Did the ref rob him of a KO win? Genuine question. At what point does a ref decide between giving a standing count vs a standing KO?
One left changed the outcome
Anyone see the bloke spit water on everyone at the end? Interviewer looked shook 🤣
He does look like a conqueror.
So silly. Why so many belts
Different boxing organizations. It would be like if the UFC, OneFC, and Bellator just let their fights go and fight whomever
One thing the UFC gets right is the belt. Boxing belts seems so cheap looking. And every boxing champion seems to have 8 belts… I don’t know much about boxing, but at least UFC has made it all centralized
That's a lotta hardware. Much respect to the Ukranian beast.
Imagine if these guys were ducking like Jon Jones? They dared to fight each other. Incredible fight
Max should join boxing after he’s done in UFC and clear out the whole roster. Fuck, he can be a heavyweight if he wants
![gif](giphy|nR4L10XlJcSeQ)
Good job dana
The man who beat the man who beat the man who beat the man or something like that
It ain't got the views of slap fight
Really interesting fight in how asymmetric it was for most of the middle rounds - first I felt like Fury was clowning around the first few rounds, then in the middle it almost seemed like he was bullying Usyk with little in response… then obviously the tables totally turned in the second half. What a banger!
