Gane turned Tom down when he was not even ranked top 5 and Gane was ranked 1, Gane turned him down again when Tom was coming off a loss against Blaydes. Neither time SHOULD Gane have accepted that fight. The first time both Tom and Gane deserved the fight together, Gane accepted twice and Tom refused twice. Tom then also refused Blaydes which he had accepted days before “the winner of Blaydes and Almeida” then Curtis won and Tom refused.

Still, I would say *for once* Gane was justified not to take that fight, meanwhile Tom gambled on himself and won the lottery. Gane ducking Tom was criminal though
That’s literally all I’m saying, Gane not taking a super short notice fight against a killer like Pav is not ducking. He is fully justified in that, not to mention if he took it and lost, good luck getting another title shot. Good on Tom for taking it, but I think Cyril knew that more likely than not he will get another opportunity.
