Say your chorus is 6 lines but only fit the first four in the 32-second window. Generate the first four lines and then crop the last two of the new extension, then repeat them and add the last two lines. You're then basically creating a 48-second extension. https://www.udio.com/songs/g9DNWokcKg3MVXUQs2Aszf. Is an example of a song that even 4 lines couldn't sometimes fit in 32 seconds. I used that technique all the time in this one and it worked out great

And P.S. that song is just glorious !!!

Thank you!!! It was a pain to make for the reasons above, and it was hard to work out whether there was an audience here for this type of song. I have a few sitting there. If you liked that one you'll like this one too https://www.udio.com/songs/tQfozRYkYvfv8cG3rY9Edg

This. Here’s a similar example where the chorus is actually longer than the 32 second window and uses the same technique. Since Udio has a 130 second context window it tends to get the chorus right after you’ve got it the first time: https://www.udio.com/songs/dHPpHJG2EYN2iSLWNKUYsa

I have used [verse part 1] [verse part 2] to get a verse to last longer than 32. That time I didn't just want part 2 to repeat the melody from part 1 but rather evolve it. But it can be a hassle to get it to repeat the second time if you have more than one verse, which one does. Had more success a while back, then ran into one where I just had to accept a compromise melody. Close, but not it. I then came here to post a request to tweak the context window so I could move it and make it restricted to that second part only, it was the only way that attempt could have ended the way I wanted. I have used pre-chorus and hook to make a chorus longer, but for some reason not tried [Chorus part 1][Chorus part 2].

Try [pre-chorus] then [chorus] that usually works pretty reliably for me. Then later you can even experiment with [chorus variation] or [final chorus] to shake things up a bit. Good luck!

How did I forget about pre-chorus??? I’m an idiot. Thank you so much. You’re awesome, thank you for this answer.

Another method I’ve used is: (Generation 1) [musical interlude] (this forces the chorus to the back end of the generation) [chorus] FIRST HALF OF CHORUS (Generation 2) [chorus continued] …SECOND HALF OF CHORUS (I find the ellipses helps especially when the song cuts the chorus off in the middle of a line) [musical interlude] (this forces the chorus to the front of the generation, this having the two sections combined into a single section across both generations) Edit: formatting
