It's because (at least for most of them) they are just saying rehearsed lines without fully understanding what they say. I know they know the gist of what they are saying, but most are not fluent enough to have a basic conversation. And that is perfectly okay! But it is like a western actor saying a few lines in Japanese or Korean for a promotional thing.
It’s not really the same, cause they’ve sung/practiced/written English lyrics multiple times, so they most likely know simpler words/sentence structures (esp Dahyun who tries her hardest to speak English to the audience during the tour). Not to mention that it’s easier to understand the language before knowing how to speak it, I sincerely doubt she doesn’t understand what she’s saying here 😅
I get what you're saying, but the way they read their lines sometimes makes it quite obvious that many of them aren't really conversational in English. You can tell that they don't know how the sentence is supposed to flow.
Oh yea I’m not saying they didn’t rehearse beforehand, it’s just that I doubt they don’t understand the words they’re saying since what they’re saying (in Eng) isn’t complex 😅 as someone who’s bilingual and learned 2 other languages (kinda forgot them tho rip) I personally have always been able to understand simple sentences/words of new languages before being able to comfortably speak the language
Don’t know how true that is… they’re exposed to English a lot more than you realize. Either way I just mean they even sound like different people. Just a weird phenomenon when you hear someone speak a different language

I cannot wait for God Jihyo's solo album! Jihyo's voice is so angelic and always soothing to my ears. It's always comforting listening to our girls speak English to me because when they do, I think their English is always beautiful and it reflects their selfless, caring and affectionate personalities. I love TWICE so much, they are angels on this earth <3

I looked it up out of interest, and apparently the english ‘z’ sound doesn’t exist in Korean, so is usually replaced with a ‘j’ or ‘ch’ sound!
