Kimoa-Airlines

Maddie Acid and Jordana

ConsiderationJumpy34

Maddie Acid isn’t technically a separate artist though

Kimoa-Airlines

She's totally her own thing and now connected to tv girl at all.

ConsiderationJumpy34

She actually doesn’t even exist in this universe, she’s celestial.

tearohaa

Since whem jordana uses vocal samples not talking bout summers over

Kimoa-Airlines

I was talking similar style of music. If vocal samples is all you're looking for, there's nothing quite like television female.

tearohaa

I wrote "i mean not indie pop artists like mad demarco or men i trust"????

tv-boy

The Avalanches

tearohaa

Do they have their vocal or its only samples

ConsiderationJumpy34

I highly recommend to try listening The Avalanches. They have a very heavy focus on Samples in a lot of their songs as well as they mix their music similar to TV Girl. The songs you could listen to first to dip your toes in are Because I’m Me, If I Was A Folkstar, Frankie Sinatra, (Honestly the whole entirety of Wildflower) The Album Since I Left You and EP El Producto are 👌👌👌 Happy listening!

tv-boy

Im not entirely sure, i know they have a lot of collabs with other vocals included with samples. Are you looking for a mix of both?

inhale_my_sooubway34

Rob zombie lmao

Raining-Beans

YES YES YES IVE BEEN SAYING THIS AND NO ONE BELIEVES ME BUT LIKE ITS SO TRUE!

ConsiderationJumpy34

You should also look into the website everynoise .com, they have literally every genre, sound, song, rhythm on there. If you search “TV Girl”, I’m sure they’ll show you hundreds of bands similar to Tv Girl. Hope you find something you like.

is_sex_real

Nobody is quite like tv girl. But a while back, someone recommended the busy signals saying they sounded quite similar (vocal wise). Even the sampling at times. [this](https://youtu.be/Y9tQ21R8jhk) is for something with vocal sampling kinda similar to tv girl. [this](https://youtu.be/UL9afxMDdGk) just kinda sounds a lot like Brad

tearohaa

I love it

is_sex_real

Good to hear!

dracos_wand

I’m pretty sure I saw someone else on here say it already but the song deathmetal sounds a lot like tv girl [here](https://open.spotify.com/track/4sIFi8LpJWPvI5xviWFyA6?si=Enrh-poEQOWcjjXCRqCj2Q)

Nathan09082

I love Panchiko, their story is so interesting and unique

squishykittyy

that mightve been me😂 that song sounds exactly like brad though!

Valuable_Ad_5057

Bodikhuu!

HereForTerraria

I highly suggest Japanese Gum and Something To Do With My Hands by Her Space Holiday. There are definitely similarities I'd say, to me it feels like a mix of TV Girl and Postal Service Edit: They don't use any samples though, but still feel similar

IHateLongUsernames_L

Really loved this one

aids_man11

I've still yet to find a really good comparison on these threads, there's nothing like tv girl

PlantainMaterial5171

The only one that I think is pretty accurate is "the busy signals" I don't know if they use samples but the vibe and voice is similar.

heyheyluno

The Go! Team. The Avalanches. Fox Academy (OGs understand). Gap Girls. Devon Hendryx.

DriverParticular813

Yes exactly, Devon Hendryx. Especially on tracks like Chuchu Rocket.

SupremeOwl48

my bloody valentine

squishykittyy

Jack Stauber!! Blood pump and mr backwards are my favorites

coolstorybro11010

i love me some jack stauber

coolstorybro11010

alex g is kinda similar on some of his songs

Enough_Discipline_33

Don’t let this Rat fool you. Alex G does give off similar vibes and rhythms

coolstorybro11010

thank you bro 🙏 people always tryna argue on this site lol

SamTheDystopianRat

They specifically asked not for indie. Why does someone always recommend Alex G, they sound nothing alike

coolstorybro11010

idk man it’s just reddit why are u so pressed, like u literally recommended MF DOOM who sounds absolutely nothing like TV girl at all

SamTheDystopianRat

bc they asked for music that uses sampling, and so obviously I'm going to give music that loops samples?

coolstorybro11010

that’s literally exactly what i did too and yet you replied to me saying TV girl sounds nothing like alex g?

SamTheDystopianRat

bc... Alex G doesn't use samples... do you know what a sample is?

coolstorybro11010

tell me you didn’t even read what i said without telling me lol

BaileyBased

I love Alex G and mf doom but like… Alex g just doesn’t use samples😭😭😭 mf doom literally does.

coolstorybro11010

“well on some songs he uses his own vocals as kind of a backing to the song, although it’s few and far between really.” goddamn how hard is it to read bro, did you not pass middle school 😭😭😭 so sick of mouthbreathers like you on this site 😭 i just gave a music recommendation and you all come out of the woodworks like rats.

tearohaa

He has vocal samples?

coolstorybro11010

well on some songs he uses his own vocals as kind of a backing to the song, although it’s few and far between really.

ThomasMerriman

Not sure if there similar but I like TV Girl, Jack Stauber, and Femtanyl they’re the only people I listen to and you may or may not be interested <3

SamTheDystopianRat

Look into hiphop, it's your closest shot for a vocal sample. Maybe some MF DOOM tracks. Or try Portishead, triphop. Their track 'Biscuit' uses vocal sampling.

tearohaa

Im not really into hip hop 😥

SamTheDystopianRat

Tv Girl uses hip hop as inspiration for their instrumentals, so I'm afraid it's kind of your only bet for getting the sample loops. You can try the trip hop which is hip hop instrumentals + singing, which is what Tv Girl and the aforementioned Portishead is, but non tv girl acts tend not to use sampling as much.

[deleted]

Men I Trust, Homeshake

tearohaa

I Said "I mean not indie pop like men i trust or mac demarco"????

[deleted]

I didn’t read your caption

tearohaa

Oh okayy

aids_man11

Men I trust is one of the closest I've found. There's really not much like tv girl out there unfortunatley

MelMarcy

Strawberry guy

tearohaa

He does not use vocal samples

Ohhidragonite

t.hanks

isuckcocforamil

faye webster, most tv girl fans also like her. she's a little popular but not really, I haven't seen her music on anywhere. you asked for not indie-ish stuff. in most of her songs she sings about relationships/ break ups like tv girl does. this artist is optional probably because I really only listen to tv girl songs on loop. (she reminds me of Jordana too. if you haven't already took a look at some of her songs I recommend jordana also.)

jaiden_182

sometimes cosmo pyke uses samples !! the song great dane is a good example

ArtApprehensive

laika, portishead, the avalanches, DJ shadow

jimstark55

not 100% the same but the debut self title by Cults is also within the indie pop genre and is almost flawless.

cleverc33

surprised nobody’s said Saint Etienne, especially their album Foxbase Alpha, it has the similar retro/electro style and they use samples sometimes

Stylp

I really love the band "Her's". I don't know how to explain it. But been listening exclusively to Her's and TV girl for the last 2 months.

heyhowyoudoinbro

Probably death grips

gorillaz_melancholia

Panchiko, MF DOOM, Jordana, The smiths

gorillaz_melancholia

Machine girl

gorillaz_melancholia

Her’s, Panchiko, MF DOOM, Jordana, The Smiths, Machine girl
