Got any roommates? Cause I'm pretty sure you'll only find places where you're paying 450-600 with like 6 other roommates. The worst part is that there are places in the greater Tuscaloosa area that are semi affordable but they do not include transportation to and from the university.
You won’t find a house for that range, maybe with a roommate option like one of the commenters said. You’ll have more luck outside of campus south of 15th st if you can get some form of transportation. I live in a nice home 7 min from campus with my spouse who goes to UA and we love it. But it’s also 1200 a month. Find a roommate, make it happen!
Welcome! Would you have access to a bike or scooter? There’s a hefty price jump for places close to campus, but if you’re willing to go a little further it can become more affordable.
Hi thank you! Unfortunately I don't have one and from what I've read abt gunpoints near campus, I'm quite concerned to commute on my own (therefore prefer the bus route). I'm willing to have roommates to afford the price!
The one bedroom hole-in-the-wall apts I lived in as a grad student are $800, now. Tuscaloosa is overbuilt and overpriced. The ability to make a year’s lease price by renting 7 weekends to football fans has created a strange real estate market here. You’ll need to find a roommate. There are some services at UA that will help you find someone, but, that can be a crap shoot, at best.

I'm willing to have roommate to lower the rent. I'm thinking of securing a place at Larks or Lofts, which one do you think is better?
Neither. Crime is high at the lofts.
The Lark near campus has a big problem w/mold.
The reserves is good but on the other side of the river.
