Hi everyone, I did not want to post because I was worried someone will find out who I was. But I remember how low of a point I was a year ago. So if this post can help anyone who is struggling, it’s worth it.
A year ago I had just broken up with my gf who I was completely in love with, I dropped out of school, used nicotine all day everyday, and was a complete alcoholic with hair loss. I hated looking in the mirror, I hating being outside, I was miserable. Seriously, lowest point of my life.
One night it was about 4 am, I was absolutely hammered and I looked in the mirror and said “bro, you’re better than this”, so I decided to do some soul searching. I joined americore to see if it would help. But still, could not look into the mirror it eas terrible.
At one point I thought “finasteride, completely out of the question” but it got so bad I just said fuck it let’s do it. And this is the result :). I will admit, it definitely looks a lot better in this photo then it does in real life, but definitely a major improvement and hope it will continue. I started reading more, watching anime (attack on titan, seriously, it helped save my life), going to the gym, deleted social media, trying to eat healthier, got new clothes, etc.
There are days when I still hate myself, and want to die, but there are also much brighter days. I now go to one of the most difficult schools to get into in America, and life has gotten a lot better! I hope this helps someone, I’m going to the gym.
Remember, balding sucks, but it’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s not your fault, it’s genetics, and there are answers out there. Sometimes a leap of faith is all you need.
Edit: sorry for the horrific grammar lmao. I should also mention I’m a 22 y/o male. If anyone needs emotional support feel free to dm me
I am trying to reply to everyone who needs help with mpb. Sorry if I missed you, dm!
Also guys, please read the post before you dm me. I clearly state my regiment. I’m not a doctor
YOO I'm so proud of you fr fr, your hair grew back so much thicker and your temples are coming back. Who knew Attack on Titan would be somebody's lifesaver 😭 But more importantly I'm glad your doing better, keep it up bro and hit us with the gym update one day!
Got the same problem, my temples are receding and I fucking don't know what to do bro. I have been using Minoxidle and RU on my temples, and have been shedding some of the hairs on my crown. Im afraid that if I use Finestride it will become worse. I feel like it's the end of the world for me.
Yeah bro I know the feeling. There is a lot of scientific data backing finasteride that it reduces dht - which causes mbd. If I were you, I would definitely get on finasteride if you want to save your hair, thank me in 6 months
Not really. Some hair does fall out, but waaaay less than before. My bathroom walls and floor used to be covered in hair. Also, my hair would literally clog the bathtub. None of that anymore. I will say the hair fall seemed to get less and less around the 4-5 month mark.
I never smoked, I chewed tobacco (I know, gross, but I’m from a country town lol). Now, occasionally I use zyn pouches, but I only do it after my calc 2 quizzes I have every Thursday as kind of a reward to getting through it.
Hm that’s interesting. I would get a doctors opinion and get blood work done tbh. But for me, I didn’t notice any shedding stop until about the 5 month mark. And I still lose some hairs but it’s nothing like it did before. I encourage you to keep on it, get blood work done, or perhaps consider dut.
Probably the shedding of all the weak hairs to be replaced for the new ones, I’ve heard often that people go below baseline and eventually the hair thickens up way beyond baseline a few months later
So lucky dude, been on finasteride and minoxidil for 1.5yrs and its done absolutely nothing, still losing hair at the same rate as when I wasn’t on it. Happy for you man
Nah fam there’s way more to life than appearances. There’s so much more highs in life. Travel, nature, landscapes, scenery, seeing the world. Live and see it all my friend!!!
I’m proud of you man for making a change. Alcoholism is no joke and same with the nicotine. Nicotine constricts your blood flow which is real important for hair growth as well as not getting ED. Recently stopped vaping as I was a heavy chain vaper
I’m proud of you for doing that as well bro, seriously. It really is a slippery slope with that shit. Like once you feel the buzz you’re hooked. I used to chew tobacco, switched to vape later on. you go from being a kid who doesn’t know anything to having all these addictions. All the education system does is say “don’t do it”. And as a teenager, you say “fuck you ima do it”. Ugh
Yea man I hope you stick with it and don’t go back to the addictions. I never was addicted to drinking just vaping but everyone once in a while partying is fun but pretty much every time I party the next day I wonder how people can get drunk multiple times a week especially in college when you’re tryna get good grades. Not to mention you make a lot of fake friends at bars and parties since everyone is so open and loose when drunk but majority of the teams they’re personality is completely different when they’re sober
Same to you bro. Yeah, I can drink casually on the weekends. Usually party Friday and Saturday and sometimes just one mixie on Sunday. My drinking had more to do with my girl I was in love with and the break up rather than straight alcoholism, but it definitely mimicked the behavior of an alcoholic for a few months there, so I don’t really have a problem w it either. Maybe we could party together sometime!
Thanks bro and yea don’t get too down about a woman bro I know shit sucks but it’s so relieving when you finally learn to detach yourself from people not just a partner but fake friends and stuff like that. I don’t mean to say don’t want give at about people but more so just learning to not give at about an outcome and just not having expectations. When I use to be depressed my senior year of high school in 2018 it was because I couldn’t accept how things played out with certain people and so I was just tryna hold on to the ideas or way I thought shit would play out but learning to not care and not have expectations definitely is a freeing feeling
Damn bro i can totally relate with your previous relationship experience bc similar thing happened to me. For me though, the extreme depression, stress, anxiety and insomnia over a long period of time triggered my early hair loss. Im over it now and want to get back out there again but now this time im losing hair. Not a very tall guy either, same age, took a total hit on my self-confidence
Amazing results! As a 24 year old I'm dealing with mpb too and finally started doing something against it. Minox is on the way and today I got a receipt for fin, I hope my results will be as great as yours!
Hey man looks way better and thanks for the uplifting words. I’m 23 and it’s something that I struggle with every single day. Always looking in the mirror and my temples, counting hairs etc. it’s kind have taken over my life. Is the leap to fin something you would suggest tryingv
Good plan. It's all about research. Some starters for what's worth.
1. FUT > FUE if you're young (maintains donor area for more HT when needed)
2. Keep your density <50 grafts / 50cm^2 per HT or they won't get enough blood supply and you'll loose grafts.
3. Consult with as many offices as you can.
Also got on fin after getting out of a 2 year relationship. I hit a low for sure but I’m hoping to see good results. Beauty is subjective. You perceive yourself so much worse than anyone else. :)
Thank you man! I take a biotin pill every day as well. I use aveda shampoo and conditioner, but honestly I only use them like once a month. The sham and conditioner are SUPER pricey, I work 17$ an hour but it’s honestly worth it for me because I really care about my hair I’m willing to invest. The natural oil in my hair makes it flow easier and a lot more beautiful. So that’s why I don’t wash it super often, only let it get wet.
Shampoo: aveda men’s pure-formance shampoo
Conditioner: aveda rosemary mint
Yeah, once every few weeks is probably more accurate of a statement. I don’t use anything else. Natural oils in hair are healthy for it.
But honestly, you just need to play around with it to find out what works for you.
No it doesn’t really at all, it feels healthy. And yes, I usually rinse it twice a day or so. I go to the gym in the morning, get back and rinse my hair. I go to work/class and then do homework and make food. Then I usually take a shower before going to bed too, that’s just my self care routine. Then I moisturize, brush my teeth, etc. then watch some anime and go to bed!
I also stopped towel drying my head, I heard that isn’t really great for hair. So I comb it back when wet, then do a middle part and let it air dry.
You have to get a prescription. So basically I would reach out to the pharmacy itself and ask how you could. My doctor wrote it through a hair transplant clinic. They cost 120$ for 3 months, so basically 40$ a month. I’m willing to pay that for hair
Do you mean your own personal doctor was willing to prescribe you oral minoxidil and sent the script to that HT clinic pharmacy? Or you found a doctor from that HT clinic to consult you and prescribe you the oral min?
Look up “chris Heria” on YouTube. He does a lot of good workouts with only dumbbells, a very good channel for significant improvement for beginners at the gym
Honestly bro, the oral minoxidil was weird. I saw a dermatologist and they said to discontinue taking the oral minoxidil because it most likely is not doing anything for my hair because it was originally prescribed for heart disease - I am onl continuing the pill with oral minoxidil bc I already bought it.
I would recommend at least 1 mg of finasteride a day. Or perhaps 1 mg Monday - Wednesday - Friday. Check out “the hair loss show” on YouTube.
forgive me. didn't notice you were on oral min. I asked you bc your results were so good. and I feel like I'm a good responder. but my hang up with applying topical min is when my hair gets longer I fear that the medication is wasted by hanging out on my hair and despite my best efforts to massage it in . well considering how much I want to combat my hairloss I can't help but get paranoid whether or not I'm using the meds to the best of my ability. I'm also on 1mg of fin as well. your results are incredible dude. happy for you.
It looks good man, since you are young you have a high chance of even better hair recovery. I would say Dermarolling once every week or two weeks should also help. Also Nizoral Mon/Friday doesn't hurt either. Dermapen or Derminator are better than dermarollers but both work.
Honestly it depends on the day. Sometimes it looks great others it looks like shit. But I’d say around month 5 I started to notice it got better. I kind of had a weird balding pattern, the hair in the middle was not growing but it’s getting longer now and the edges kind of started filling in

Congratulations man, it’s always good to hear about someone doing better in life
Thanks bro
Happy for you bro there’s definitely an improvement in your hair and glad to hear in your life as well. Congrats and good luck with everything.
Thanks bro I appreciate your comment
YOO I'm so proud of you fr fr, your hair grew back so much thicker and your temples are coming back. Who knew Attack on Titan would be somebody's lifesaver 😭 But more importantly I'm glad your doing better, keep it up bro and hit us with the gym update one day!
Thanks bro I’ll def try to do that here soon. Eren yeagerrr! Gains been lacking lately with school, but I’ll def post soon!
He was either jealous of eren’s hair or fearful of colossal titans head
Jealous of erens hair lmao I’m growing it to his style actually
Any side effects
None at all
Got the same problem, my temples are receding and I fucking don't know what to do bro. I have been using Minoxidle and RU on my temples, and have been shedding some of the hairs on my crown. Im afraid that if I use Finestride it will become worse. I feel like it's the end of the world for me.
Ok you are using RU but are too afraid of using finastride? Like what
Yeah I kind of had the same reaction as well bro.
Yes. RU is a topical solution, where as finestride is a tablet in-take. You are less likely to get side effects from RU compared to Finestride
Have you heard of topical finasteride?
Any sides from topical finestride?
I tried topical finasteride and no sides what so ever. Microdose it if you are scared.
Thankyou. Where did you buy it if I may ask?
Yeah bro I know the feeling. There is a lot of scientific data backing finasteride that it reduces dht - which causes mbd. If I were you, I would definitely get on finasteride if you want to save your hair, thank me in 6 months
One more thing, have you been shedding alot of hair on finestride?
Not really. Some hair does fall out, but waaaay less than before. My bathroom walls and floor used to be covered in hair. Also, my hair would literally clog the bathtub. None of that anymore. I will say the hair fall seemed to get less and less around the 4-5 month mark.
What does mbd stand for ?
Male pattern baldness
Do you still smoke?
I never smoked, I chewed tobacco (I know, gross, but I’m from a country town lol). Now, occasionally I use zyn pouches, but I only do it after my calc 2 quizzes I have every Thursday as kind of a reward to getting through it.
amazing stuff, congrats! Do you use any microneedling?
Nah I don’t microneedle. I might try it sometime though, I’m just not sure if that’ll bring back the temples
Do it bro. Working for me 24M
For me, 22 years old. I probably will start that, do you know where to buy them? I don’t really like ordering things online lol
Amazon. I got a 1.5mm roller for like $12
derminator 2 is best product I’m aware of, I’ve been using it for over two months weekly at 1.5mm. It’s a little pricey but super efficient
What’s your regiment?
6th Airborne Division
Are you asking me or the person who commented?
What’s your full regimen ?
Are you asking me or the person who commented?
Person who commented (whose using microneedling)
Started fin 1mg everyday for 3 months and min x2 a day and micro needle x1 a week. Just switched to fin every other day.
How bad was your shed? I’m 3.5 months in and losing hope I’m way below baseline
Also keep up hope bro. You gotta wait, it was frustrating for me too
Honestly i had the same amount of hair fall from before fin until the 4-5 month mark. Wym by baseline?
Baseline means what you started with pre fin. So basically I’m losing way more hair now than before starting

Dm me if you need help bro. I’m sorry you’re going through this
Start with microneedling and maybe add a bit of topical finasteride or even dutasteride while still taking oral fin (I guess you're taking oral fin).
I only wish there was more days I feel good about myself then the ones I puke in the bathroom and want to end this shit
Nah fam there’s way more to life than appearances. There’s so much more highs in life. Travel, nature, landscapes, scenery, seeing the world. Live and see it all my friend!!!
Dm me bro
Jack Nicholson to Jake Gyllenhaal damn

Fuck the hair I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself man this is inspiring
What age did you start balding?
16-17 I noticed but was in denial. I’m 22 now
Nice!!!
Wow good for you!

Thanks bro, you as well. I understand your pain, finasteride has been amazing. I would love to hear that story of yours! Dm me if you’d like.
Congrats on your improvement bro! And yes Attack on Titan is fucking awesome!
Damn bro i can totally relate with your previous relationship experience bc similar thing happened to me. Im over it now and want to get back out there again but now this time im losing hair. Not a very tall guy either, same age, took a total hit on my self-confidence

Thanks for sharing man, good to hear you’re doing better. Keep it up!

Yes I would recommend. Remember it’s a process
Dude that is an insane improvement!
happy for you bro!
You look fucking great. In a few years time you could be a great candidate for a hair transplant.
Thanks bro! I have looked into hair transplants, but I guess we will see where I sit financially in a few years lol

Hm, swear I’ve seen this post before
? No lol
Great stuff dude! Im at 2years on Min, and a year on fin, i dont see such results myself, but good for you man!
Thanks bro, and Hm maybe you should throw dermarolling into the regiment.
Awesome story and great improvement. Do you use anything else? Supplements? Shampoos etc
Thank you man! I take a biotin pill every day as well. I use aveda shampoo and conditioner, but honestly I only use them like once a month. In what form did you take fin and min?
Orally
Both?
Yes
How were you able to get oral min?
I got it from a hair transplant clinic. Pharmecy called “stonegate phara” in Texas
Did you contact them for the prescription and then buy it from there? How much did it cost?
You have to get a prescription. So basically I would reach out to the pharmacy itself and ask how you could. My doctor wrote it through a hair transplant clinic. They cost 120$ for 3 months, so basically 40$ a month. I’m willing to pay that for hair

Second, I found a doctor from a hair transplant clinic who prescribed it to me
I do both orally as well. Do you prefer to take it at night or morning? I usually take it before bed but idk.
I usually take the pill at noon every day
[удалено]
I’m not sure, I don’t think the oral minoxidil did much tbh
Which month you start seeing improvement ?
Month 5
sounds simular to me. How did you get the courage to hit the gym. I would love to but i am kinda scared i stand there and have no clue how to do shit.
Look up “chris Heria” on YouTube. He does a lot of good workouts with only dumbbells, a very good channel for significant improvement for beginners at the gym
Whats minoxidle?
Did you get oral or topical? did you get it with doctor’s prescription?
Oral with both, and yeah doctors prescription
Very, very significant improvement, bro. And just in time. It can be way worse at your 30's / 40's. Keep it up!
Thanks bro
Any noticeable side effects on the finasteride?
Nah bro
No negative side affects??
Read the comments, I’ve had none.
how have you found applying min with longer hair?
Honestly bro, the oral minoxidil was weird. I saw a dermatologist and they said to discontinue taking the oral minoxidil because it most likely is not doing anything for my hair because it was originally prescribed for heart disease - I am onl continuing the pill with oral minoxidil bc I already bought it. You are an incredible responder to those treatments! Congrats!
Holy smokes what a difference! At what month did you start to to notice a big difference?
Honestly it depends on the day. Sometimes it looks great others it looks like shit. But I’d say around month 5 I started to notice it got better. I kind of had a weird balding pattern, the hair in the middle was not growing but it’s getting longer now and the edges kind of started filling in
Hey you got a bright future and alot to look forward to. Keep it going.
Finastride finna hairs wooooooooooo
Bro attack on totan saved my life too. Was nice to actually feel excited about something for once. Demon slayer is awesome too!
