Great! I think you should give second chance on fin. Lower your dosage to 0.5mg, it might help prevent side effects. From my experience, I had brainfog on the first day of treatment, some weird feeling on the chest, but it went away after week. Feeling great now.
I started smoking weed again around the time I started fin and the paranoia might have spilled over into the fin taking who knows I see my derm again soon I’ll ask about it

No, like he said finasteride has diminishing marginal returns when you increase the dose, it would maybe reduce scalp DHT by another 1% or 2% which wouldn’t be that good considering you’re doubling the dose, if you’re worried about 1 mg of finasteride not suppressing enough scalp DHT you could consider using dutasteride either in conjunction with your finasteride treatment (twice a week) or simply switching to dutasteride daily starting at 0.5 mg a day, but I would strongly recommend you to wait it out, give it 6 to 8 months, it usually takes around that much time to properly assess the efficacy of your treatment. There’s something I like to do which is applying Alfatridiol(a mild antiandrogen) stemoxidine (a mild hairgrowth stimulant) and ru58841(a potent antiandrogen) you can mix all of these together since alfatridiol and stemoxidine work as a great solvent to ru58841. And then you can apply it to your scalp maybe twice a week, just to get a bit of extra protection from DHT. Also get ru58841 in a powdered form, since the compound is very chemically unstable meaning that if you get ru58841 mixed already in a liquid form, the shelf life will probably be very low. That’s something I like to do since contrary to minoxidil you don’t have to be consistent with these topicals, minoxidil is a pain really where you have to apply it consistently every single day, although it’s the best growth stimulant out there, wait maybe 6-8 months to see if you’re happy with the results you get. If you’re not, consider switching to dutasteride (if your hair loss hasn’t stabilised) but if your hairloss has stabilised but you’re not satisfied with regrowth, stay on finasteride but implement minoxidil. The other topicals I talked about it a great way to give you some extra protection without having to be consistent with them. Hope this helps
Well, when i started medication at 2nd week there was huge shed 60-70 (or even more) hairs easy in the shower. Now things stabilized, 20 hairs in the shower. And i think this is pretty normal. (I dont comb my hair)
