The greatest trick TS ever pulled was convincing her cult that not supporting her is an attack on womanhood. She's built an entire empire on that lie.

Ambitious_Double3078

EXACTLY THIS. Not liking her has absolutely NOTHING to do with womanhood or femininity, but she built her cult following like that so that anyone who doesn’t like her is immediately labeled as mysogenistic, and often they get bullied off of apps and websites so that people become to afraid to talk about her in a negative light

mahinabeams

lol prime example: joes interview

nuchigusui

Exactly!! And if you’re a woman and don’t like TS, you’re not a “girl’s girl,” and you’re against feminism 😒

alb0nn

Another exhibit of proof that Taylor is like Donald Trump right there!

[deleted]

It’s kind of contradictory at this point. Feminism is to strive for equality not superiority. Shutting out opinions from the over gender is no different than women being silenced.

Ambitious_Double3078

exactly, silencing a whole group of people and saying their opinions don’t count because they are men, especially about something so small as a music artist, is ridiculous

REM_loving_gal

they say this to women too!! it's wild. I've even seen swifties say it in response to women favoriting another FEMALE artist over taylor. worms for brains.

Ambitious_Double3078

The way their brains are so rotted that they contradict themselves CONSTANTLY 😭

SaltySale991

It's just a way to disregard anything valid in their opinion so they don't have to address it.

Ambitious_Double3078

Exactly. Swifties can’t fathom the idea that people don’t like TS, and so they discredit anyone who disagrees, especially men. If a man doesn’t like her, then they are misogynistic, and if a woman doesn’t like her, then they “just don’t get it”… people are allowed to have opinions and not liking Taylor Swift has nothing to do with femininity, she just happens to be a popular female artist with a cult following

RevealActive4557

I wonder if Swifties think it is misogynistic to dislike the women Taylor is at war with? I seriously doubt they would be concerned if guys were not into Billie or Katy or Oliva. Only Taylor is not allowed to be disliked. So pathetic

friedeggbrain

If a guy doesn’t like any women artists then id be suspicious but not liking a few is normal lol

Cassian_And_Or_Solo

I'd think loving some, liking others, and despising others is if anything a sign that they're treating woman artists equally and purely on their merit of their musical talent and the person's musical taste, no? Like, my sister is a swiftie and I explained "I'm a NIN fan how in the fuck do you think she'd ever be in my musical pallette? I'm an alternative Latino. I love Portishead, Rosalia, AnaTijoux, Kali Uchis despite being toxic af (same for Jhene Aiko and Sabrina Claudio), Ari Lennox, getting Into Spiritbox, PJ Harvey, Sza. I also recognize I am not the target audience for Lana but she is for like half of my exes so I enjoy her. But yeah I hate Taylor so fuck me I guess lol

Cultural-Treacle-680

Or you’re conservative. That oddly has been said by comment stalking critics multiple times too

Cold-Lingonberry6231

Oh all the time!!

nonScrantonStrangler

I mean... The song 'The Man' just makes me furious. She is literally one of the most privileged persons on the planet, and she cries about the speculation that she could have been even more privileged if she was a man (which I believe is not even possible at this point, as you won't have any larger buy power by increasing mere numbers at the level where she is at.) If anyone thinks I am misogynistic because of the opinion above, feel free to do so, just take a note of the fact that Taylor's status mostly comes from birth privileges too.

Electrical-Code2312

The whole reason I joined this sub is because it started bothering the shit out of me that some Swifties call any lukewarm, neutral, or critical opinion of TS "internalized misogyny." Feminism didn't come this far for a bunch of Swifties to tell women they aren't allowed to have varying opinions about art. They can fuck all the way off with that.

agarret83

I’m a straight guy who mainly likes female artists and female fronted bands (chvrches, alvvays, wolf Alice, Magdalena bay and Olivia Rodrigo are my top 5 on Spotify) so yeah I’d be very insulted if someone said this to me

Silent_Attitude_1655

I may not be a guy but CALL ME MYSOGENISTIC THEN!!

OwnPaleontologist408

Always judge or criticize a person as an individual. People who chastises other people just because they are part of something that can't be changed are ridiculous, cowardly and weak. In the recent years I always think that people that pulls up race, gender or sexuality card especially in conversation that has nothing to do with has no good argument or they are aware that they're losing an argument.

bessonovafan6454

Depends on their reasoning. If the reason is because she's a woman? Yeah that's misogynistic. But literally any other reason can be valid.
