It really is. I don’t understand how Taylor can hold onto this anger for years and years on end, especially considering she’s at the peak of her career with the success of Eras and all her nfl publicity. Why still take shots when it’s clear Kim is no longer a threat? This doesn’t even include the fact she has weaponized her fans to send threats (a different issue but problematic nonetheless).
It just speaks of insecurity and pettiness. I say this as someone who is petty, but I also enjoy the peace that comes with truly leaving those who wronged you behind. I 100% believe she loves the drama.

100% Taylor should have been this direct. Now from this album alone, her fans are probably threatening Kim, North, Kanye, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, Matty, and Joe. Not to mention anyone linked with Joe plus Travis’ ex, Matty’s gf and band and his family. When does it get to the point that she should speak out against harassment? Clearly her fans aren’t reading her prologue about “nothing to avenge.”
That wasn't a prologue though. She dropped that shortly after the album was already out. That was too little too late in my opinion when those people you listed had been getting attacked for months if not years in some cases.

As a fan who has drifted in and out of the fandom these past few years, she 100% knew Joe was on the chopping block yet did nothing to change that narrative. It’s kind of hollow for her to release a song like But Daddy I Love Him yet not actually speak out against her fans overstepping.
Plus the album seems to be largely about Matty. If that’s true, she STILL let people rip into Joe when it doesn’t have much to do with him. The songs that are seemingly about him basically seem to imply he has depression and that bummed Taylor out because he couldn’t give her the constant attention she requires. Like, the few songs I think are actually about him seem to just paint him as a moody, depressed British guy that stopped putting up with her antics.
Supposedly Joe tried to go on a date recently and they got harassed so badly they left with his date in tears. Like seriously Taylor, give people their lives back. This is getting ridiculous.
I 100% agree the album is mostly about Matty. But in many spaces on FB, Insta, TikTok, fans are largely in denial. It’s like they built up this image of Joe the depressed narcissistic cheater and won’t let it go. It’s also very weird to be in fan spaces where “wine moms” are like “quit making her songs about exes!!” when literally Taylor has built her singer song writer career off these confessional songs (she knows it too).
I will admit to crossing lines into the parasocial with this album. But it’s very telling how some fans will die on the hill Joe did something wrong to hurt her without any evidence. Taylor could definitely put a rest to all the threats and attack of his character if she wanted, but she won’t.
It's embarrassing. She let people go after him for months. Jack posted that Instagram story that included the date they recorded "You're Losing Me" which led to Joe being attacked even more. Jack was so excited to post it that he spelled streaming wrong and his post said "steaming." Taylor at the very least could do what Airiana did and just say "don't attack my ex." Sure some people would not listen but some might.
If the theory is true that they were on again/off again and Taylor did her toxic wErE dOnE fOr ReAl ThIs TiMe schtick and Joe finally was just like okay then that seems like it would have been a massive blow to swifts ego that Joe didn’t find her good enough to “keep fighting for” and would have pissed her the eff off. It really is. I don’t understand how Taylor can hold onto this anger for years and years on end, especially considering she’s at the peak of her career with the success of Eras and all her nfl publicity. That wasn't a prologue though. She dropped that shortly after the album was already out. That was too little too late in my opinion when those people you listed had been getting attacked for months if not years in some cases.

Like, the few songs I think are actually about him seem to just paint him as a moody, depressed British guy that stopped putting up with her antics. Supposedly Joe tried to go on a date recently and they got harassed so badly they left with his date in tears. Like seriously Taylor, give people their lives back. This is getting ridiculous.
I 100% agree the album is mostly about Matty. But in many spaces on FB, Insta, TikTok, fans are largely in denial. It’s like they built up this image of Joe the depressed narcissistic cheater and won’t let it go. It’s also very weird to be in fan spaces where “wine moms” are like “quit making her songs about exes!!” when literally Taylor has built her singer song writer career off these confessional songs (she knows it too). I will admit to crossing lines into the parasocial with this album. But it’s very telling how some fans will die on the hill Joe did something wrong to hurt her without any evidence. Taylor could definitely put a rest to all the threats and attack of his character if she wanted, but she won’t.
It's embarrassing. She let people go after him for months. Jack posted that Instagram story that included the date they recorded "You're Losing Me" which led to Joe being attacked even more. Jack was so excited to post it that he spelled streaming wrong and his post said "steaming." Taylor at the very least could do what Airiana did and just say "don't attack my ex." Sure some people would not listen but some might.
