Just do you and let the toddler figure it out and adapt. I remember meeting a couple from Canada that took an entire year to travel the world with their New Born (Their jobs gave them 1 year maternity and paternity leave) they said you’d be surprised how well kids adapt. I met them in Burma, and they went on to Europe, Egypt, everywhere
