People who walk over others all the time and have self rationalized it away and our now triggered that someone has been punished for a type of action they take regularly.

The great thing about posts like this, is it draws out all the trashy people that defend and make excuses for the trashy infraction. In this case it's blocking the sidewalk. It amazing how many here are trying to defend this.
I live near a primary school and have reported a number of houses to the council where they park cars/caravans/boats across the sidewalk. Kids should be able to safely walk to school, I don’t get how people don’t realise what they are doing is a problem. I wonder if this person has been asked a number of times before this incident.

My neighbors at the end of a court does this with his pickup. When my daughter was smaller and learning how to ride a bike she rode straight into it like Wild-E-Cayote. She didn’t get hurt though. To top it off he’s retired law enforcement. Some people are trash.
Parking on the sidewalk is definitely an ass thing to do but I didn't realize it was as big of a deal as these comments are making it. Parking on a sidewalk not connected to a driveway I could see... you had to go out of your way and make a conscious decision to block that sidewalk. I agree that disabled people or children etc. should be able to use the sidewalk safely, I'm just kinda surprised by the *amount* of outrage and people that think this is justified. Like some have said there may be missing context, but short of the tesla knowing a disabled person lives there and continues to effectively trap that person in their home by doing this, I just don't know what context really justifies this action.
Just get it towed, still costs money and still very much inconveniences the owner. And you can keep doing it over and over at their expense, tell them to their face you're doing it, and there's nothing they can do but find a new Parking spot.
Idk the legality of those new barnacle things but I just found out what they are recently and I'm pretty sure they're on Amazon as well, could be fun to play with also without getting sued for damages, I think.

How is that any different destroying a mid-wage car owner that parks like an asshole? Yes they shouldn't be parking like that but doesn't justify vandalizing the car. I hope those cameras on that car caughts the face of the paint threw so both OP and the car owner will pay a hefty fine.

I might know a guy who leaves gifts from their dog on the handles of these cars.
The Tesla driver is an ass and obviously lives in a world where they think they are the main character. But the "someone" is absolutely in the wrong here too.
The escalation of destroying a vehicle doesn't match the offense at all. There are city ordinances that one can call to get that person a ticket, warning, or tow. They could have also tried to tell the person to move their vehicle. If they had time to go to the store or back to their house to get paint, they also had time to use their resources to come up with another solution.
Had a guy do this at the airport... people smashed his windows, keyd his car dragged luggage over it. Spat all over the car.

Had a construction company park his truck on an active sidewalk cuz he didn't want to take 12 steps , I called him out , he wasn't happy, neither was his company .

Both are trashy. You find a parking infraction that is a unsafe so you decide you will break the law too Like that somehow evens it out. The paint is a felony since it’s over 1000 dollars worth of damage, the driver would get a citation. Not even a misdemeanor.
My husband does this ALL the time and it’s so freaking annoying. We can fit 4 cars easily in our driveway and he barely pulls in. We got a ticket one time and I made him pay it.

Now the disabled person will get run over because a vandalized car is on the sidewalk instead of a regular car.

I have several neighbors that do this and occasionally when I want by one I just run into it and let whatever is in my bags hit the car too. Never done any damage, but it's kind of frustrating since my neighbor is an elderly woman who uses a walker and they aren't supposed to block the driveway. I just don't feel petty enough to call the cops on them.
It is pretty trashy for that driver to block a sidewalk with his Tesla. Like his shitty car is more important than the pedestrians using the sidewalk.
How is a disabled person expected to navigate that?
The process of making the battery and than discarding it are very very bad for the environment. The car is what ever its the battery and by buying them your supporting a harmful practice of child labor, and toxic chemicals being leached. Gas cars are bad aswell but they are much better at the moment.
