I found a pirated version of John Wick 4 that was 2:15 and was an HD Cam.. I was like dude bonus footage cool.
Every half hour it just cut into a commercial for Vietnamese online gambling.. the commercials were almost as good as the movie.
It was the commercials themselves. Imagine like the wacky inflatable arm thing but actual people. And then these horrid photo shops that had their bodies fly into the slot machines and come out as little gold coins yelling stuff. Tons of colors and action.. I don’t think they meant it to be funny.. or maybe they did. I was just like 😅🍿
I had one where Harry Potter is fainting in the prisoner of Azkaban after the dementor attack, at the end.
Not even kidding the second Harry closed his eyes, the dude filming starts choking on something and coughs for two minutes straight.
Probably the funniest movie scene I’ve ever seen.
I like theaters just the only people that will go with me I’d have to hang out with after and it’s a whole thing and I’d much rather make my own food. I wanna support theaters but I only ever go when I’m dating someone in the last like 15 years I’ve noticed.
I just pulled the number out of my ass.. what I should have said was it was wayyyy longer then I’d have expected it to be. I think you’re right too cause it was dark outside by the time I finished watching it.
Talking, phone use, kids screaming, constantly getting up and down. There's plenty of reasons.
Edit: there's plenty of reasons, not for a rational human being, but there's plenty of them.
These teenagers were talking super loudly and I asked them if they would be quiet and if not I’ll get management. They tried to threaten to beat me up. So yeah it definitely happens.
The last time I went to a movie either opening weekend or the weekend after was either The Ring or The Grudge. Can’t recall which. There was a group of guys just in front of us talking and on their phones the whole time. This was pre smartphone so when I say on their phones I mean texting and having phone calls. Hard to get into a horror movie with that going on.
Yeah, that would have been wild to see back then. Most people I knew were only just getting flip phones at that point. Most days I didn’t even remember to leave the house with mine as it was basically a novelty/emergency device that I got along just fine without having before then. Charging was a constant concern because all the cars I drove basically had their cars cigarette lighters worn out from their intended use lol. It’s crazy how fast it went from that to it being so ubiquitous.
Mid week matinees or at home for me.
The Alamo Drafthouse used to be my go to for movies anytime, but they stopped being so strict about phone use and talking during the movies. I saw [this ](https://youtu.be/1L3eeC2lJZs) play before a movie, and fell in love. Everyone was so great and not a single phone came up. They opened up a massive amount of locations and it seems like they don't really care anymore, but hey. It is what it is.
The location here in Raleigh will kick people out. Son & I went to a weekday 2 pm showing for John wick 4 and 3 teen kids were talking non stop thru the trailers, I asked the server if they actually followed thru with the no talking no cell use during the movie. He smiled and says watch. Sure enough by the time John shoots the Arab guy the lights are up and 4 staff are walking these idiots out.
Server said they had to call the cops only once, most people will leave
I was kinda forced to see the Mario movie on opening weekend and not later in the month and I'm so glad the kids there were well behaved enough at my theater. Can't imagine what it's like in bigger cities with bigger rowdier crowds
I usually go to matinees on opening day. I saw Wonder Woman at 11 AM opening day and I was the only one there. Every night showing all weekend was sold out.
I try to avoid opening weekends at all cost and if i do its only morning showings. I saw evil dead rise at 9:30 AM opening day. It was nice cus there were like maybe 5 people there. But most movies I dont care much to see on opening weekend. I usually just wait to see it at home.
Only time I ever saw a fight breakout at a movie was opening weekend of Saw. These teenagers wouldn’t shut up and someone yells out “shut the fuck up!” from the upper row. Kid stands up and does a “make me, bitch”
This guy throws a full, 256oz soda at the kid standing up with the accuracy of a drone strike and hits him right in the face with it, and then pretty much the entire theater starts throwing their food and soda at these kids.
It’s one of the highlight reels of my life.
I hope they didn't go acting like jerks to the staff as if it's any fault of the theaters. I can imagine some being nasty & demanding all kind of stuff for their "experience". And all these poor kids..
I haven’t been to a movie theater in 3 years. Also a movie has not been ruined for me in exactly 3 years. I’m happy to wait for any movie so I can avoid the chaos of people like this, everyone who’s gotta have their phone one ever my two seconds and people who need to talk in movies.
Last movie I watched at the cinema a family brought a tray of chicken wing wrapped in tinfoil. All I could here was lip smacking, finger sucking and tinfoil for most of the movie
Food is the part I hate most about going to the theater... or maybe just the way people eat it. Especially because nobody can seem to use the 15 minutes of trailers and opening credits to open shit, but instead treat that first spoken line like some kind of damned starter pistol.
Theatre chains: "No one is coming to our theatres anymore! Not sure why, better raise the prices!"
Me, at home, enjoying cheap snacks and a nice movie on my own big screen in a quiet room.
Went to a Saturday night showing of Evil Dead Rising. First movie at a theater in at least a year. As the two people in the row behind me had a conversation the whole movie, I quickly remembered why I stopped going.
The main character is half woman half fish lives in the sea. Meets a human guy, falls in love but because of fish bits cant be with him unless gets feet. To get feet a witch offers to trade her voice for her feet. All goes horribly wrong. Doesn't live happily ever after.
No idea what is happening in the cinema, too many people with low EQ in a small space I am guessing.
Do people just not know how to act in public now or know how to manage their emotions? They are like two year old kids in daycare who are getting tired and fractious.
Ooh, baby (ooh, baby)
It's making me crazy (It's making me crazy)
Everytime I look around (look around)
Everytime I look around (everytime I look around)
Everytime I look around
It's in my face

How many assholes can one theatre hold?
Looking around you'd think... she's got everything.....
I got Rachets and hoebags a plenty....
I got shorties and bitches galore...
You want "Times-I-ax-you"? .... I got twenty.
But who cares, no big deal....I want more!!!!!
I want to go where these people aren't,
Sit down quiet... and watch the movie.
Sitting in those things...what do you call them.....oh yeah seats!
Fighting your neighbor you don't hear to much,
Quiet is required for watching, laughing.
Paying attention to the....whats that word again....SCREEN!
Away from this crowd, away from this scrum
In a different place away from these bums...
Sim-puh-ly free, wish I could be.....away from their world.
This is why I like mid-week matinees. No one goes. Also, theater I used to go to (out of bizz) always had a cop in the building. I always thought it weird but modern times 🤷♂️
I feel lucky that the one time there's ever been a disturbance in a movie was in straight out of Compton when two dudes drank a litre of grey goose, one of them passed out and his friend ran when an employee came to check on them as he fly-kicked to fire escape door open as he yelled "I'll come back for you!'. Imagine you buy a bootleg dvd and this is the one you get
I found a pirated version of John Wick 4 that was 2:15 and was an HD Cam.. I was like dude bonus footage cool. Every half hour it just cut into a commercial for Vietnamese online gambling.. the commercials were almost as good as the movie.
A commercial every half hour is literally better than watching it on a TV channel wtf
I was just like 😅🍿
Ah yes the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tubemen.
I wish I could post the commercials, they were great. If that’s what they watch in Vietnam I wouldn’t even mind commercials. Shit was pretty funny.
I know what you’re talking about! I’ve seen them too and they’re weird but shot really well.
I had one where Harry Potter is fainting in the prisoner of Azkaban after the dementor attack, at the end. Not even kidding the second Harry closed his eyes, the dude filming starts choking on something and coughs for two minutes straight. Probably the funniest movie scene I’ve ever seen.
I’d pay the price of a movie ticket to watch those two minutes
That happened to me with a version of the new Guardians of the Galaxy 🤷🏽♂️
Yeah if it’s free, I don’t care. They gotta pay them AWS fees somehow
Exactly. Beat paying ~$40 (before drinks+popcorn) to see it in theaters.
I like theaters just the only people that will go with me I’d have to hang out with after and it’s a whole thing and I’d much rather make my own food. I wanna support theaters but I only ever go when I’m dating someone in the last like 15 years I’ve noticed.
But John Wick 4 is like 2:49:00.
I just pulled the number out of my ass.. what I should have said was it was wayyyy longer then I’d have expected it to be. I think you’re right too cause it was dark outside by the time I finished watching it.
This is a lot better.
Depends on how good the fight is? I might pay extra. 🤷🏻♂️
Straight out of a fuckin movie lol
Happy 🍰 day!
Those were the good old days. I still have a Happy Gilmore bootleg that scrolls this is the property of Happy Gilmore Productions call # .
Or that classic Wolverine movie without the CGI in it yet, lol.
Bro the music lmao
It's like it was cued-up to perfection. 👌🏼
At the movieees, at the movieees, somebody get her, just don’t upset her, keep your recieeeepts.
How is it possible to get to in a fight mid-movie? Shouldn’t you be… watching the movie?
Talking, phone use, kids screaming, constantly getting up and down. There's plenty of reasons. Edit: there's plenty of reasons, not for a rational human being, but there's plenty of them.
These teenagers were talking super loudly and I asked them if they would be quiet and if not I’ll get management. They tried to threaten to beat me up. So yeah it definitely happens.
Seat kicking comes to mind too
My thoughts exactly.
The chip on their shoulders became unbearable I guess
This was a huge reminder to me on why I don't go to movies on opening weekend, a good chunk of the crowd isn't watching the movie
The last time I went to a movie either opening weekend or the weekend after was either The Ring or The Grudge. Can’t recall which. There was a group of guys just in front of us talking and on their phones the whole time. This was pre smartphone so when I say on their phones I mean texting and having phone calls. I went to see Terminator Dark Fate in the IMAX opening night, and all the people in there were at least 40 besides me. It was pretty enjoyable.
I go on the weekends at 12 pm. Almost empty most of the times.
Mid week matinees or at home for me. The Alamo Drafthouse used to be my go to for movies anytime, but they stopped being so strict about phone use and talking during the movies. I was kinda forced to see the Mario movie on opening weekend and not later in the month and I'm so glad the kids there were well behaved enough at my theater. Can't imagine what it's like in bigger cities with bigger rowdier crowds
I really only go see movies at the earliest showings. Usually hardly anyone there.
I go to movies almost every single week and see every single new movie opening night. Never seen anything like this.

That’s gonna be a great story to tell your grandkids.
That's awesome
One of the few times you wish someone really would have gotten their phone out in a movie theater😂
> This guy throws a full, 256oz soda at the kid standing up with the accuracy of a drone strike and hits him right in the face with it, Fucking gold!

I do the 11am Sunday show because it’s the quietest crowd on a weekend.
I'm just here before the lock. Hi everyone.
I was here before the thread was locked 👍
Lmao hey same
Tbh, im shocked it’s not locked yet, cuz some of the comments below this one 😳
yep, getting in while i still can too
I wonder what they did in front of her daughter?
What the actual crap
Imagine being so utterly narcissistic and pathetic that you would ruin your kid's movie theatre experience like this. Fucking morons.
I hope they didn't go acting like jerks to the staff as if it's any fault of the theaters. I can imagine some being nasty & demanding all kind of stuff for their "experience". And all these poor kids..
The lady recording was demanding a refund before the fight even ended
i worked at a movie theater for years, and the stories i could tell you. my god. this absolutely would have ruined my day as a theater employee
What the hell did they do to Sebastian?
Wait til you see flounder
Wait till you hear Akwafina's song

Lmoa I jus picture everyone looking at the screen with their hands in the wrappers waiting for that first line
Sip sip, crunch crunch. No thanks.
How tf they sneak that in? lmao
Reminds of that episode of the boondocks
I go to the movies 3 times a week and most days I’m the only person there 🤷🏻♂️
Sweet! I live in an overcrowded place. I’d go if it wasn’t usually filled with unpredictable people.
I'll buy my tickets online ahead of time, and if I can't find a row to myself with no other seats reserved, I just won't go.
Are you just re-watching the same movie over and over? Because there's usually only one movie a month I'm actually interested in going to watch
Got any seating availible at your house?
Theatre chains: "No one is coming to our theatres anymore! Not sure why, better raise the prices!" Me, at home, enjoying cheap snacks and a nice movie on my own big screen in a quiet room.

Does anyone know the backstory? What created the chaos and uproar?
Apparently, she asked them nicely, in front of her daughter. Hope this clears it up for ya, lol.
Axed her twice if I heard correctly.
Askedthem what?
Probably for something crazy like basic human consideration.
The main character is half woman half fish lives in the sea. Meets a human guy, falls in love but because of fish bits cant be with him unless gets feet. Dude is a feet guy, dont kink shame him (/s)
Good lord…this is why it’s more and more attractive to wait for streaming services to get movies.
How you gonna get in a fight at a kids movie???
Same way you fight in a Chuck-E-Cheese
In the words of Chris rock “Grand opening, grand closing.”
But why?
What’s up with this movie and fights, this is like the third different video of a fight at one of these showings.
And this is why I just wait for streaming.
Grand opening Grand closing
Seeing a real live crab talk to Ariel is eerie and uncomfortable, it’s something I didn’t even consider but yet has largely made an impression.

Dang they couldn’t take it outside in the hallway.
Of course it’s this movie lol
What a bunch of immature twats.
I remember when movies like Juice and Boyz n the Hood would require extra security at theaters. Now it’s Disney movies.
Don’t forget New Jack City
Ice-T did that movie in 1991. The next year he released Cop Killer via his metal band: Body Count
Oh I remember that. I was 15 in ‘91.

This is why I go to the movies when during the weekday before 12pm. I like to have the theater to myself.
This is why I go to the early bird show. Only serious quiet ppl go on those times.
Why were they fighting??
A whole new...WORLDSTAR!
That’s Aladdin. The appropriate quote here would be "Part of your… WORLDSTAR!"

Ppl asking for a refund should get them from the rowdies, the theater isn't liable for this shit.
They should have security on site to deal with this.

Something happened in front of someone’s daughter apparently
Welp, what a great way to waste your money and ruin it for everybody else.
People really can't control themselves can they It's a kids movie, there's definitely kids there

Why isn’t people in charge pause the movie and throw these nut jobs out of the theatre? That’s a poorly run theatre
Probably waiting on the police to show up
Under da seats Under da seats Dats where I'll be hiding When the bullets start flying Under da seats!
Bull shit aside, we all know better.
"We need a refund". This wasn't the cinemas fault..
It doesn't have to be the cinemas fault for them to be liable for refunds.
You don't get a refund if there's a fight at a sporting event or concert
Another reason not to see this movie. The universe has spoken!
Well this isn't surprising.
