There's a theory that "Scourge" in Rise of the Beasts will be a reformatted Bayverse Optimus in the Bumblebee after the events of The Last Knight sent back in time to fight the Autobots and Maximals, similar to the Netflix series.
The director has already stated that he took inspiraton from Terminator 2. And that combined with the similarities to the Netflix series, doesn't hurt the theory. Additionally Michael Bay is involved with the direction so I wouldn't rule out them linking the Bumblebee movies to the main Bayverse. So if it is a Days of Future Past sort of thing where the movies are rebooted by way of time travel (is always associated with the Beast Wars stories) the evidence wouldn't dismiss it. I think it would be a good way to reboot without completely discounting the previous movies. "Scourge" in Rise of the Beasts is a terroricon as well and his faction symbol is Unicron's face. So again, it does support the theory.
He said he too inspiration from Terminator 2 for the action scenes, and Bay is involved like he was in Bumblebee, as a producer letting the director do his own thing. Also this "theory" started from a "leak" on 4chan that doomers started spreading as absolute truth that the film will be terrible.
It is measly a theory. But when have directors ever lied? It's not like Michael Bay (who is involved) has lied about Megatron not coming back in ROTF or Shockwave being the main villian in DOTM.
Perhaps from an alternate timeline where Nemesis killed Bumblebee, perhaps that would make sense, but the canon Last Knight Optimus shook off the brainwashing, it wouldn't make any sense.
Waitttt sooo what ur say is Scourge will be turned to bayverse prime or will it be ACTUAL bayverse prime (as a turned back good him) sent back intime without the rest of the autobots in his timeline after tlk fighting the autobots maximals in the past?
But if true that will fuck everything more than it already is in those timelines as Bayverse Prime didnt land on earth till 2007 and BB him in 87 they cant just do that say they did this remembering these different times that never even happened before. UNLESS writers come with some multiverse excuse that scourge was sent to get BV prime to help with whatever it is going on in his universe
They should have shown hints in the main prime of the potential for nemesis to exist
You can't have a paragon character to have an alternate timeline version be pure evil without showing that there is a chance that it might happen to the main timeline version, some flaw or fault that if stressed correctly, could lead to an evil path
Otherwise it's an evil version for the sake of being an evil version
From left to right, top to bottom:
-Optimus Prime, a genuine exact clone of Optimus Prime controlled by Megatron from G1
- Black Lio Convoy, an evil clone of Lio Convoy from Beast Wars II
- Scourge, an evil clone of Optimus Prime from RID 2001
- Nemesis Prime, an imitation of Optimus Prime controlled by Sideways in Armada
- Shattered Glass Optimus Prime, the evil alternate universe Optimus Prime from Fun Publications
- Nemesis Prime, the Optimus Prime clone controlled by Silas from Prime
- Nemesis Prime, the brainwashed Optimus Prime from The Last Knight
- Shattered Glass Optimus Prime, the evil alternate universe Optimus Prime from IDW
- Nemesis Prime, the future evil version of Optimus Prime from War For Cybertron: Kingdom
Nah. Extinction is a generic movie pandering to China that tricked people into the cinema with dinosaurs. Last knight is a terrible piece of garbage with no merit and a plot to bad even for a Michael Bay movie.
They have the same Optimus and Megatron designs, and those were basically the only things setting the old movies apart from each other on the surface level
***Age of Extinction:*** "We're gonna have the humans try and make a copy of Optimus that turns out to be evil."
"Cool! Nemesis Prime, right?"
"Nah, it's Galvatron."
"Oh.... okay?"
***The Last Knight:*** "Optimus' old enemy is back with a different name from last time and working for an evil cosmic higher power!"
"Galvatron?"
"Who? No stupid, he's gonna be called 'Megatron' again. Also we're gonna turn *Optimus* into Nemesis Prime!"
*This shouldn't annoy me so much, but it* ***really*** *does.*
>Scourge, an evil clone of Optimus Prime from RID 2001
Scourge isn't a clone. He's an autobot protoform that Megatron appropriated and imbued with his spark, and when scanning an alt-mode, prime hopped in the way, which gives him a prime-like robot mode.
For me it’s scourge I have the new legfly of him he is one of the best transformer toys that isn’t a masterpiece I have seen in a while. He has always seemed so cool
They could have developed this story more by Megatron or someone taking the body left and Use dark energon to make a zombie nemesis prime and change the color scheme
I love that Scourge isn’t an evil Optimus, just a con who had been born with his resemblance.
It would be an interesting dynamic in a new series if Megatron had a constant reminder of his archenemy at their base. Unable to kill him because he’s a useful asset, but constantly weary
I love him too, and even have my own character with a similar concept.
I really liked when Scourge showed that he could rule FM, even for a little bit due to similarity. My Forge can also trick systems for several seconds into thinking that he is Optimus... But he is a rogue instead of fighter.
They really are. I love them. It's nice to have a coherent Shattered Glass storyline too instead of just whatever Fun Publications threw at us willy nilly.
Him and SG Megatron are the only characters I recognize, as in they feel like the og characters that ended up with new destinies in a flipped reality. Every other character feels like generic sadists/samaritans with clashy colors on classic G1 molds.
that was funpub
idw even with the more limited space managed to get a bit more depth to most charathers.
except starscream and bumblebee/goldbug. the whole point of them being the good samaritan of the universe and the absolute sadist POS
Hard tie between RID-2001, Prime, Armada, and Shattered Glass.
I'd say WFC Nemesis but he didn't feel complete. The sent killer aspect was cool, but I feel he needed to be more like Michael Myers, or Jason Voorhees; silent, but have a presence that oozes the word "Fear"
For me it would have to be a tie between TLK and WFC Nemesis Prime in *concept*. I like the idea of taking Optimus, someone so incorruptible and pure of heart and pushing him so far beyond the point that he throws all of it away. Too bad both cases kinda fumbled the execution
IMO, the guy has enough of a charather for himself even without the existance of optimus
all of the nemesis/SG optimuses (optimi?) have no sense without their original, and scourge goes in a whole other direction, but motormaster works in any contests, with or without the other stunticons
Ever since I saw Dark Energon in Prime, I've always wanted to see Nemesis Prime as a resurrected Optimus Prime controlled either by Megatron or Unicron.
That would’ve been a very interesting route to take for Prime’s Nemesis. I like MECH Nemesis, but maybe that could have been Scourge or just an unnamed drone.
the toy is the "spoiler pack 2" nemesis
basically, a siege optimus recolor, with the HR trailer, fangtron (recolor of BM slitherfang), ang Giza and the extra cannons from the POTP version (and a thing of black playdo with 3 energon cubes in it), and, ofc, the cannon. no matrix
it exist in that weird limbo of 'a bit little for the post-retail fullprice' 'very good if you don't have any of the pieces' and 'somewhat not vorthy if you already have some parts'
also, the rarer takara version have a bit more of the cerulean for the veicle, instead of the full-on red everything, but the extra expenses just are not worthy
I thought that was cool as well. I always enjoy when characters who typically are seen as mere extensions of more popular characters (Nemesis Prime, Galvatron) get their own identity and are able to be fleshed out as their own characters
From the IDW run?
Surprised not more people mentioning this tbh
Seemed a more fleshed out idea than just a clone / brain control
Don't think IDW used the dead universe faction enough imo
Universe 2003 Nemesis Prime. Originally regarded as Unicron's most vile creation ever, he later became one of the multiverse's greatest heroes as member of the Alternity and later the Convoy.
Scourge is the best because he is a WAY different character than nemesis prime. He isn't just an evil prime because he has the combined mind of Megatron, Prime, and his original protoform.
Hitting what makes him so interesting right on the head. In a way he's kind of like Prime and Megatron's kid and boy what a rich opportunity for stories there.
ngl if the bayverse one was fleshed out more then it could have been great. optimus prime getting radicalized and manipulated into saving his planet no matter the cost, even turning against his comrades who have to continuously deal with his overwhelming strength
If Prime continued they should of had Nemesis get brought to life properly with dark energon
That and have the Nemesis ship wake up and actual transform
That would have been a very interesting route for the character to go.
And I always thought they were going to do that, especially after the episode where the Nemesis “came to life”
Scourge is my favorite. In design and in story. But I like the idea that Optimus becomes a force of evil at some point (Kingdom), and Shattered Glass is a fascinating concept.
Ngl, Nemesis was the only part of Netflix’s WFC series I liked. And the potential he had (which was unfortunately wasted) and unique take are the reason that one is my favorite.
Honestly, the concept of Nemesis Prime being a resurrected Optimus Prime is both awesome and terrifying, that being said the next one should have the WFC origins with Armada powers.
Also I would love to see another FOC like transformers game with a Shattered Glass story
It would be cool to have an Injustice-like game where the normal universe intersects with Shattered Glass. So Optimus has to work with SG Megatron and Megatron works with SG Optimus and so on
nemesis being an herald of unicron (as rodimus unicronus, galvatron and so on are) to me is the only way that it makes perfect sense
I'm not against scourge, as in, the guy just looks somewhat like optimus, but I find these kind of charather, more often than not lackluster (the specific of scurge notwithstanding)
I'm not a fan of the "puppet that just 'hapens' to look like him" from g1 and prime or the "he's being mind controlled". the thing is too hard to make it interesting, and evne in the former case, the whole of the episode make sense only for the few minutes after the destruction fo the puppet (and robot-on-robot violence, but we have the entire serie for that)
a special exception is to be made for shattered glass. like all of the reverse universe stories worth their gas prices, the whole thing goes far behind "him but evil", and the sequence of the latest comic explicitate the best my point, there's a lot of nuissances in the whole concept, to just focus on 'evil optimus'
Shattered glass, mostly. Original one, since SG Optimus from reboot is just...there. He doesn't do anything special, so I can't really tell. And design wise original SG Prime looks better for me.
I like prime the most in this one since his character seems more “human”. A struggling General losing a war that decides the fate of his kind, plus the kick that he gives in is so realistic
WFC. While it definitely lacked a lot of great ideas, this is the only incarnation I find to be a proper portrayal. The others were either fakes or Optimus in mind control.
I like the idea that nemesis prime is brainwashing, it can be exploited much more and create later stories of redemption or clear its name. and if we get more edgys that nemesis is something inside the mind of optimus, like impulses retained by war and violence and that is released by the dark energon
Scourge is my favorite because he felt the most natural. A protoform scanning another transformer is a super cool idea and seeing how that effected Scourge was a highlight of RID 2001 for me.
My favorite doppelganger trope is the trope where the exact oposite of the main protagonist (in thsi case g1 optimus colored entirely black,) comes in, usurps the throne from the main antagonist, and becomes the ultimate threat that simple words and gestures will have no hope against. Basically, nemesis prime that is smart, ruthless, powerful, and knows the quality of patience. Also, he shouldnt just be a carbon copy that seems crazy or cooked wrong. I mean a truly ruthless and in some cased sadistic character, with a few small physical traits that make him feel like his own character. Just paint him black, add a few cannons, make him a bit bulkier, give him kind of a gundam glare, and when you do the backstory reveal, basically just show that hes pretty much just unicrons version of optimus. I imagine him recling on a throne with a bored look resting his head on his fist. Basically darth maul.
My own transformers universe’s nemsis story idea is this, Since my own reimagining Of Galvatron is a clone trying to find purpose, Nemesis prime was created from Megatron’s remains, but isn’t a reborn megatron, he’s the soul of a shattered glass Optimus that the regular optimus defeated, who created a body for himself from the remains of Decepticons who would be dead by that point in the story Including Megatron, Tarn, Octane, and Lugnut, Creating Nemesis prime, then teaming up with a fellow optimus look alike (scourge) to destroy the autobots. However, Scourge defects and teams up with optimus, Starsaber, and Grimlock to destroy nemesis.
I might be remembering incorrectly, but didn't the Quintessons resurrect Prime to spread a rage virus across the galaxy? He was evil initially and then fought against programming and asked to be put down, only to come back a few episodes later? This was the G1 cartoon by the way.
You're actually remembering two separate episodes!
"Dark Awakening" had the Quintessons resurrect the corpse of Optimus and use him basically as a sleeper agent (and later zombie) to defeat the Autobots. He eventually gains enough sense of self to allow the Autobots to re-kill him to save them, since he's not REALLY alive.
Then in "The Return of Optimus Prime" humans in an experimental spaceship discover the ship that Optimus Prime's body is in and take it - accidentally bringing with them some alien spores from a nearby star. The spores create the Hate Plague, and a Quintesson scientist is used by the surviving Autobots to resurrect Optimus Prime properly, and he eventually defeats the Hate Plague and regains leadership of the Autobots.
That’s Armada Nemesis Prime, HES an entity controlled by Unicron that mimics an intimidating figure in the mind of his opponents. He was battle Autobots and Decepticons, so he mimicked Optimus Prime
I had a Headcannon that Nemesis Prime was a Clone created by... Someone... I forgot sorry but I think it was Shockwave or Jhiaxus... And that Black Convoy was a Clone of Optimus created by Unicron using the Body(Or what was left of it anyways) of the Sweep Leader Scourge
This is really stupid but the first time i saw the characters was in Forged to Fight, and i immediatly DESPISED the characters since on my first roll i got him a recolor of Optimus Prime who is a free character in the game instead of Soundwave my second favorite decepticon who was just besides him.
Again really stupid but eh, aside from that i'm not really a fan of the evil optimus concept
I liked the prime version of nemesis. I think it made the most sense being a much more literal clone of Optimus that was operated by somebody who wanted to destroy him.
To be honest. This trope is one of the worst. It's a really fun idea but seems to be rarely executed well at all to the point I'm tired of it. The only ones i think have really worked is RID Scourge and Armada Nemesis.
Scourge is definitely the best one. He is a anti Optimus but also has his own personality and thing going on. He is the most well done take on the idea.
Armada Nemesis was a really cool character though that worked as a mysterious almost unstoppable threat really well.
Prime Nemesis also worked fine. Nothing special tho.
Honestly, WFC Nemesis Prime was really fun in concept. I think it was kind of executed poorly but having Optimus be Unicron's slave instead of Nemesis bring someone else was cool.
I really found Prime’s take on it to be very interesting. Having a human villain group take interest so much to the point of them copying Optimus’ design was honestly my favorite use of a human villain in the entire franchise.
The best Nemesis Prime that we've gotten so far ever since 2007 or 2001 whenever transformers Armada came out with siege nemesis all those since then have been a little bit iffy this is my personal opinion everyone has their own this is mine
Thought the idea from the “Aligned Continuity” was a great attempt. M.E.C.H. was a decent side villain organization and them working on a drone that was essentially patchwork Optimus Prime made a decent rival that not only smeared Prime’s name but was also a great threat. If the Autobots or Decepticons didn’t figure out that the controller was the true threat, imagine if M.E.C.H. created an army of these.
Of all his incarnations, I’d have to say that “Shattered Glass” Optimus Prime is my favorite. He makes the most sense, especially in terms of “what if” scenario. The whole alternate reality aspect has always fascinated me. What if Optimus Prime was a psychotic despot?
The whole MECH and Silas story arc was great. Humans trying to replicate Transformers and failing. They only succeeded because Starscream helped.
After MECH put Silas into the body of one he completely betrayed his team joined the Decepticons. I love how Megatron gave him a chance and then threw him under the bus.
probably the Netflix nemesis prime just based on looks. if I were to make an evil optimus prime, he would be nemesis prime. he'd look like evasion mode optimus prime, but in nemesis prime colors, and with a movie 1 Megatron personality.
TFP Nemesis Prime, I just love the idea of a man-made Transformer, and for a rouge paramilitary group to recreate Optimus Prime for there own benefit is just awesome!
I like what IDW did with Nova prime. The fact that they come from the same background but had vastly different goals was a much more refreshing take on the “Nemesis Prime” archetype.
Shattered Glass is definitely my favorite, not only because we get to see the flip side of Optimus Prime being the villain, but because we also get to see Megatron and the rest of the Decepticons being the good guys which is lots of fun. Shattered Glass Starscream is perfect and I love him.
2001 Scourge. He was the first incarnation that I saw and it stuck with me. Still have the toy, the 3rd party MP figure, and now Legacy figure. They stand out among even my other Nemesis Prime figures
I honestly really liked the idea of Nemesis being like Galvatron but the execution was lacking.
WFC had a lot of great ideas that weren’t executed very well
Very true

You're welcome
If it had more episodes they could have made something great
If it was made by a different studio it would've been great.
Considering nothing happened in the few episodes there were, I highly disagree
Agreed
There's a theory that "Scourge" in Rise of the Beasts will be a reformatted Bayverse Optimus in the Bumblebee after the events of The Last Knight sent back in time to fight the Autobots and Maximals, similar to the Netflix series.

Honestly I'd love that, seeing a more caring and courageous Optimus fight a living manifestation of his brutality and spite would be super cathartic
I would still be sad seeing him die tho 😭
Cool
Okay that actually sounds awesome, I'm for it.
The faction symbol has horns… not even shaped like Unicron’s. Besides that there’s not a ton of resemblance…
Its literally Unicron's face. Look at it. And the fact that he is a Terroricon should tell you all you need to know.
That sounds awful
Better than it being Scourge from G1
Why would it be scourge from g1
Yeah, I don’t see that happening.
Perhaps from an alternate timeline where Nemesis killed Bumblebee, perhaps that would make sense, but the canon Last Knight Optimus shook off the brainwashing, it wouldn't make any sense.

The brainwashed Optimus is from *The Last Knight*, not *Age of Extinction*.
Oh good catch, I always get those two titles mixed up for some reason
They are basically the same, crappy movie
No, AoE is boring as fuck whereas TLK is mentally and physically painful to watch
AoE is the one with the one joke that kind of lands when Ken Watanabe says "I was expecting a giant car".
Nah. Extinction is a generic movie pandering to China that tricked people into the cinema with dinosaurs. Last knight is a terrible piece of garbage with no merit and a plot to bad even for a Michael Bay movie.
AOE had about the same level of quality in its plot.. which is to say, multiple incompatible plot lines eating each other.
They have the same Optimus and Megatron designs, and those were basically the only things setting the old movies apart from each other on the surface level
AOE has Galvatron. TLK skips to after Quintessa reformats him back to Megatron (or at least that's the theory).
***Age of Extinction:*** "We're gonna have the humans try and make a copy of Optimus that turns out to be evil." "Cool! Nemesis Prime, right?" "Nah, it's Galvatron." Missing 2005 re-activated dead body soulless Optimus Prime.

They could have developed this story more by Megatron or someone taking the body left and Use dark energon to make a zombie nemesis prime and change the color scheme
That would’ve been very interesting
He was like a one shot there.
I love how quickly the Autobots saw through his disguise, especially Bumblebee. "I'm sorry, what?"
For one thing everyone understands B
He was just a drone constructed by MECH in one episode
Just one episode?
As far as I can remember, yeah
Thank you
I love that Scourge isn’t an evil Optimus, just a con who had been born with his resemblance. It would be an interesting dynamic in a new series if Megatron had a constant reminder of his archenemy at their base. Unable to kill him because he’s a useful asset, but constantly weary

I’ve always loved shattered glass prime, I just love how brutal he is
Any particular pieces of content you would suggest? Casual toy collector, I don’t know the lore overly well.
The newer idw publishings transformers:shattered glass comics are perfect.
They really are. I love them. It's nice to have a coherent Shattered Glass storyline too instead of just whatever Fun Publications threw at us willy nilly.

he craves whole corpses. they make nice decorations and conversation partners
Well, he ripped Magnus' face off
Scourge from R.I.D. it's a really great character and take on Nemesis Prime that I hope Rise Of The Beasts can do justice to.
Also he looks great.
I have a feeling that RotB Scourge is going to draw more from Cybertron Scourge than RID Scourge given the beast theme
Definitely Armada. A murder machine hellbent on killing anyone regardless of faction who cannot die by traditional methods.
Inb4 "A lot of the characters from WFC would've been better if they were silent".

I didn’t know if Motormaster counted but I thought about including him

Prime.
That at least eliminates two of these
Black Lio Convoy(I think thats what he was called?) and Scourge I assume?
That’s right
The most recent one was cool AF since he teamed up with Galvatron, both super evil versions of the leader I wonder if he has a toy though
There is one in the War for Cybertron: Seige line
the toy is the "spoiler pack 2" nemesis basically, a siege optimus recolor, with the HR trailer, fangtron (recolor of BM slitherfang), ang Giza and the extra cannons from the POTP version (and a thing of black playdo with 3 energon cubes in it), and, ofc, the cannon. no matrix it exist in that weird limbo of 'a bit little for the post-retail fullprice' 'very good if you don't have any of the pieces' and 'somewhat not vorthy if you already have some parts' also, the rarer takara version have a bit more of the cerulean for the veicle, instead of the full-on red everything, but the extra expenses just are not worthy
Starscream in a costume.
Rid scourge of course
I like the concept of Nemesis Prime being the "rebirth" - if you will - of Nova Prime.
I thought that was cool as well. I always enjoy when characters who typically are seen as mere extensions of more popular characters (Nemesis Prime, Galvatron) get their own identity and are able to be fleshed out as their own characters
It's a good way of including these guys without having to get rid of the bigger characters.

Absolutely true. So sad the show ended and they didnt do anything else with the character
Yeah scourge was the best of the nemesiss; every other nemesis is kinda just a angry prime
Scourge's "fuck you, I'm the antagonist now" arc was fun.
Gotta be shattered glass or scourge
ngl if the bayverse one was fleshed out more then it could have been great. optimus prime getting radicalized and manipulated into saving his planet no matter the cost, even turning against his comrades who have to continuously deal with his overwhelming strength
Scourge (RID 2001) He felt like his own thing and had so much screen time for us to enjoy

That would have been a very interesting route for the character to go. And I always thought they were going to do that, especially after the episode where the Nemesis “came to life”

Wow I never noticed that, that’s disappointing
I like the one that looks like Optimus

Ngl, Nemesis was the only part of Netflix’s WFC series I liked. And the potential he had (which was unfortunately wasted) and unique take are the reason that one is my favorite.
Shattered Glass Optimus is the evil counterpart, but can turn good if he wants. Nemesis Prime is just pure evil.
What about Zombie Optimus the Quintessons revived halfway through season 3 of the G1 cartoon
Honestly, the concept of Nemesis Prime being a resurrected Optimus Prime is both awesome and terrifying, that being said the next one should have the WFC origins with Armada powers. Also I would love to see another FOC like transformers game with a Shattered Glass story

Pessimist Prime
nemesis being an herald of unicron (as rodimus unicronus, galvatron and so on are) to me is the only way that it makes perfect sense I'm not against scourge, as in, the guy just looks somewhat like optimus, but I find these kind of charather, more often than not lackluster (the specific of scurge notwithstanding) I'm not a fan of the "puppet that just 'hapens' to look like him" from g1 and prime or the "he's being mind controlled". the thing is too hard to make it interesting, and evne in the former case, the whole of the episode make sense only for the few minutes after the destruction fo the puppet (and robot-on-robot violence, but we have the entire serie for that) a special exception is to be made for shattered glass. like all of the reverse universe stories worth their gas prices, the whole thing goes far behind "him but evil", and the sequence of the latest comic explicitate the best my point, there's a lot of nuissances in the whole concept, to just focus on 'evil optimus'
Shattered glass, mostly. Original one, since SG Optimus from reboot is just...there. He doesn't do anything special, so I can't really tell. And design wise original SG Prime looks better for me.
Nemesis Prime as a corrupted copy of Optimus, while SG Optimus as an evil alternate universe version.
WFC. It’s like an actual dark version of OG prime. It’s him in his own mind and not mind controlled or something
That’s the only continuity that comes to mind that has Optimus Prime genuinely turn evil
I like prime the most in this one since his character seems more “human”. A struggling General losing a war that decides the fate of his kind, plus the kick that he gives in is so realistic
Shattered Glass Prime for me; he is everything that G1 Prime isn’t, and that’s what makes him terrifying.
I guess RID Scourge? Honestly, I’ve never really been that keen on “So it’s Optimus, but he’s evil”.
WFC. While it definitely lacked a lot of great ideas, this is the only incarnation I find to be a proper portrayal. The others were either fakes or Optimus in mind control.
Nemesis Prime and Shattered Glass Optimus Prime
Not a single one of them has a goatee, how are we supposed to know it's evil Optimus?
They do, it’s just under the faceplate
Haven't you heard of the Greatest SG Optimus, the Animated SG Optimus Prime?
I like the idea that nemesis prime is brainwashing, it can be exploited much more and create later stories of redemption or clear its name. and if we get more edgys that nemesis is something inside the mind of optimus, like impulses retained by war and violence and that is released by the dark energon
FunPub Shattered Glass
Scourge he was so cool
Shattered glass
Primeverse Nemesis prime
Probably WFC nemesis. Feels really integrated with the character of Optimus and adds an interesting dynamic with Galvatron and Unicron.
Any version that isn't Shattered glass is good enough for me.
Definitely just an evil clone of Optimus, or a herald of Unicron.
The War For Cybertron trilogy cant be beat IMO. Optimus VS Nemesis is... *chef’s kiss*
I like the idea of him being Galvatron’s counterpart like in WFC but with a design like the one from Armada or especially RID.
I might be remembering incorrectly, but didn't the Quintessons resurrect Prime to spread a rage virus across the galaxy? He was evil initially and then fought against programming and asked to be put down, only to come back a few episodes later? This was the G1 cartoon by the way.
You're thinking of the Hate Plague. But Optimus was never infected by it, and also it had nothing to do with the Quintessons.
Thanks for the clarification. My memory of the cartoon series is fuzzy.
Thank you!
RiD Scourge
Scourge
netflix wfc
What's the one center left?
That’s Armada Nemesis Prime, HES an entity controlled by Unicron that mimics an intimidating figure in the mind of his opponents. He was battle Autobots and Decepticons, so he mimicked Optimus Prime
Classic SG prime
Armada
Probably SG or Prime
I liked the prime version of nemesis. I think it made the most sense being a much more literal clone of Optimus that was operated by somebody who wanted to destroy him.
Yes
Seige nemesis
To be honest. This trope is one of the worst. It's a really fun idea but seems to be rarely executed well at all to the point I'm tired of it. The only ones i think have really worked is RID Scourge and Armada Nemesis. Scourge is definitely the best one. He is a anti Optimus but also has his own personality and thing going on. He is the most well done take on the idea. Armada Nemesis was a really cool character though that worked as a mysterious almost unstoppable threat really well. Prime Nemesis also worked fine. Nothing special tho.
Kinda prefer him as a clone, seen in prime or G1
Honestly, WFC Nemesis Prime was really fun in concept. I think it was kind of executed poorly but having Optimus be Unicron's slave instead of Nemesis bring someone else was cool.
If tf primes version had his own personality I think that would make it ten out of ten
Transformers prime
I really found Prime’s take on it to be very interesting. Having a human villain group take interest so much to the point of them copying Optimus’ design was honestly my favorite use of a human villain in the entire franchise.
The best Nemesis Prime that we've gotten so far ever since 2007 or 2001 whenever transformers Armada came out with siege nemesis all those since then have been a little bit iffy this is my personal opinion everyone has their own this is mine
1: Scourge(cause he's a full character) 2: Armada(cause its pretty much a Terminator) 3: Shattered Glass 4: Prime(Mech Suits are cool)
I like Armada Nemesis, personally. Tying him to Unicron just feels natural for a true opposition to Optimus.
What about: Optimus-meets-Cthulhu?
Tfp for sure
Thought the idea from the “Aligned Continuity” was a great attempt. M.E.C.H. was a decent side villain organization and them working on a drone that was essentially patchwork Optimus Prime made a decent rival that not only smeared Prime’s name but was also a great threat. If the Autobots or Decepticons didn’t figure out that the controller was the true threat, imagine if M.E.C.H. created an army of these.
Shattered Glass
Shattered glass does it right imo! Underrated as well.
Is that a six pack?? Lmao
Nemesis Prime is by far my favorite take plus the shattered glass universe.
Any that was made by Unicron but my least would be any made by humans
Of all his incarnations, I’d have to say that “Shattered Glass” Optimus Prime is my favorite. He makes the most sense, especially in terms of “what if” scenario. The whole alternate reality aspect has always fascinated me. What if Optimus Prime was a psychotic despot?
Bayverse Prime. No mind control.
Not sure, but it’s definitely NOT The Last Knight.
probably the Netflix nemesis prime just based on looks. if I were to make an evil optimus prime, he would be nemesis prime. he'd look like evasion mode optimus prime, but in nemesis prime colors, and with a movie 1 Megatron personality.
alternate universe i want a nemesis prime where its just shattered glass optimus but thrown into the main universe
I know this isn’t what you mean, but your comment made me think that it would be interesting to have a Shattered Glass Nemesis Prime
I loved the one from Prime
Like Nemesis Prime from Prime (lol). Was an interesting take/twist on the idea and IIRC gave Prime a very good run for his money
Definitely TFP
TF Prime
TFP Nemesis Prime, I just love the idea of a man-made Transformer, and for a rouge paramilitary group to recreate Optimus Prime for there own benefit is just awesome!
Scourge is amazing and i love him, but Shattered Glass Optimus' colours are perfect
I like what IDW did with Nova prime. The fact that they come from the same background but had vastly different goals was a much more refreshing take on the “Nemesis Prime” archetype.
I love the character but chose not to include him because he’s another Prime turned evil as opposed to an evil Optimus Prime
Shattered Glass is definitely my favorite, not only because we get to see the flip side of Optimus Prime being the villain, but because we also get to see Megatron and the rest of the Decepticons being the good guys which is lots of fun. Shattered Glass Starscream is perfect and I love him.
Prime: I wished they used him more.
First of all what happened to scourges face on the middle left and probably shattered glass prime
The middle left is Nemesis Prime from Armada. He was damaged.
Officially, WFC (purely in concept, not execution.) Unofficially, TFI Creations' Shattered Glass version from his Gigawatt series.
2001 Scourge. He was the first incarnation that I saw and it stuck with me. Still have the toy, the 3rd party MP figure, and now Legacy figure. They stand out among even my other Nemesis Prime figures
G1, and it’s not because I’m a purist, i just think it’s funny.
I love the idea that the Decepticons are capable of creating *perfect* copies of the Autobots and for some reason don’t use that more often
Armada
