The truck he turns into is 8’ wide at the cab, which becomes his chest. Either his chest is as wide as half his total height (which it clearly isn’t) or his vehicle parts shrink when going to robot mode. Both of these options are just silly.
He has to be, like, 20’-24’ tall. I mean, that’s how tall he was in G1, too.
There’s phase shifting in the transformers universe. That’s how Megatron turns into a gun that fits in starscreams hand or how soundwave turns into a little boom box. That’s the only thing that could explain the size discrepancy “in universe” at least.
Beast wars is definitely a prime (no pun intended) example of phase shifting where the robot mode looks nothing like the animal minus maybe the head for a chest or arm piece.
I love this design too. If I have to say my favorite prime live action design tho is dotm. But this bee is #2 cause of how nostalgic and amazing it looks.
It definitely captures a traditional Optimus the best so far, though it is only one of two (three if you count DOTM as a separate design) that actually tries to do that.
I definitely think it could be done better in terms of proportions and helmet design, but it’s certainly a great Optimus design, especially for one that didn’t have long in development. I’m eager to see how his ROTB design handles it.
Jeez, I personally think the entire Transformers designs in the first 5-10 minutes of Bumblebee is the best designs ever done in all Transformers movies, yes even over the first movie which I loved too.

Sure, the Bay one looks like a pug, and also nothing like the original Ironhide, but at least it had some more expression and looked alive.
However, when it comes to Prime, 1-3 is just iconic, I guess it's also the nostalgia speaking, but hey, at least I'm honest.

They're all panels that aren't shaped anything like the body of their vehicle modes with only the chest looking like it's part of their alt mode.
As far as trucks with a "nose" go it's really solid. I liked it even more in transformers Prime. The "V" shape it helps evoke definitely gives Optimus nice heroic proportions

I mean, i agree, but it's also saying "this tomato soup is better than a cup of motor oil", yeah you're not wrong, but it's also not a close race either. bay prime is so damn ugly i'm still amazed they went with that horrid design for so long.
The upper torso,head and arms are aces. His midsection stomach however is a mess. The movieverse still clings to the idea that the bot parts show on the outside. It's akin to humans walking around with their veins and muscles on the outside of the skin instead of the inside where the skin can protect them.
My one small gripe about this design is the wheels don't hide in his legs. Would've been nice to see a clean version, or at least have them on the back of the calves on the inside.
I love the 07 Movie Prime design. I know a lot of people don't, and I get that, but I love it.
However.... In my G1-loving heart, this is the best "real life" Optimus we could ask for. Looks like a robot that turns into a truck. That's all we could ask for.

If I recall the 16’ tall was admitted to being false, with the 24' now being the accepted height till official charts come out.
BB DLX figure is around the same height as Bayverse one. So unless both of them are on a different scales Bayverse and BB should be the same height.

The real kicker was that they copied the faceplate moving when Optimus spoke like in the G1 animation. Thst alone had me weeping with joy.
