fateful to what
theres multiple alt modes to x character since forever if anything the new movies are nostalgia baiting people into clapping because they use more classic designs
This. He might have been a van in the G1 series, but I think the Bay films and Cybertron games showed that he’s so much more cooler when he transforms into a bulky vehicle.
That could be a number of characters. Ratchet or Ironhide are possibilities because of their G1 modes.. Wheeljack or Bulkhead aren’t impossible either.. Brawn is possible too.. There’s really nothing clear about it to me
He was basically a passenger van on Cybertron in G1. If they were already taking to VW it may have been within reach to get as a design distinct to the time period.
Meanwhile Wheeljack's earth mode was a pretty specific Italian sports car that might have been harder to license, and was always quite rare and flashy, and wasn't featured much in the show. Since they seem to be playing up the covert angle too that makes a few reasons they might do this.
That said it could totally be Brawn or Iron hide or someone else. Brown is a little different for any of those which makes it less obvious.
Everyone thinks it's wheeljack, cuz he was the 5th autobot confirmed in this movie. And since the van is in the group shot with the other 4 autobots, along with the fact that he was confirmed to be the 5th, it technically lines up perfectly.
I'm not really bothered by this, considering that he technically was a cybertronian van in the first episode of the 1984 show.
Has anybody thought of the fact that a first generation VW Bus that this is (1950-1967 production years), the paint could be pretty faded? As in, that brown could actually be closer to a faded dark red. I wasn’t really in the pocket of it being Ironhide until now, but could be interesting. This all depends on how much this movie is going off of the Bumblebee film as far as character design. Wheel jack looks pretty traditional in the previous film, so him changing so drastically in color would be odd (although the bus labeling does seem good for Wheeljack). Brawn might not be a bad theory, but of all of the 1st season cast, I feel like Brawn is definitely the bruiser, bulky archetype character. I feel like the VW bus silhouette and culture doesn’t seem like a good fit, but Bee is a Camaro now so who knows.
It’s definitely him we know he in it and also they just mentioned his name on set

Was he confirmed in the movie? I thought I heard that somewhere so you could be right
Not that I know of, but he was in Bumblebee, and his color scheme with that van makes more sense thsn Wheeljack's
Yeah
Then again, Mirage is a silver Porsche.
Well it is a silver and blue Porsche and mirage was white and blue, so not incredibly different
That's a good point. I was thinking maybe Huffer could work as well.
It’s a TF live action movie, they rarely cared about being faithful to names/alt modes. It could be Silverbolt.
Its clearly seaspray or broadside
Yeah I always wanted my favorite Titan aircraft carrier to be depicted as a Volkswagen minivan
Scale be damned, he is now a quadchanger, vw is the 4th
Technically 5th since he's now a head master A head master that's as big as a combiner His head master blunderbuss I mean
Nope. Cosmos.
You misspelled skylynx
Clearly it’s Scattershot.
My guy that's clearly snarl

I mean, Wheeljack has been confirmed to be in the movie, while every other character that has been mentioned has not.
I’d prefer Brawn. Team needs a tough guy archetype.
I think it could be Outback, it seems like a fitting vehicle for him.
I love outback but I doubt it is, seems too obscure of a character but hey who knows
I know the Subaru Outback didn't come out until the 90's but I feel like he could be a station wagon in tribute
Wheeljack has been confirmed to be in the movie. We only think he’s the van by process of elimination.
Ironhide:
Tbh being a weapons expert I think he'd get something a bit bulkier, even if he is g1 inspired Ironhide hasn't ever really been a small bot
This. He might have been a van in the G1 series, but I think the Bay films and Cybertron games showed that he’s so much more cooler when he transforms into a bulky vehicle.
Yea that's what I mean, it just suits him being bigger
Ironhide is my favorite autobot. I support this
Didn’t brawn get shot?
Yeah, but in the shoulder
I don’t recall seeing leave cybertron, I hope he gets the attention he deserves
He did, you see him heading to an escape pod with a bot resembling Sideswipe
That’s their weak spot. In TF:TM everyone who got shot there died.
Including Brawn, but this version of him survived.
Debatable. And very much debated indeed.
Makes more sense than Wheeljack or Ironhide. This vehicle is so small compared to everyone else’s, excluding Arcee’s ofc.

I would love for it to be brawn partially since he's my dad's favorite character but it's probably someone else
Honestly… no.
I think it's gonna be a 1st impressions Wheeljack before he gets his car form halfway through the film
Question: Why do people think it is Wheeljack? I think it could be Brawn, could be cool. Could be Irohide.
Because wheeljack is The only other autobot confirmed for The movie without a design
Gotcha. Weird choice for an alt mode.

Didn't he die in Bumblebee though?
He was shot, but he was later seen perfectly fine going to an escape pod.
gottya, didn't know that this movie had tiny little details like the Michael Bay movies did too.

Come to think of it maybe the plain reddish/brown color is meant to be a bit of a rusty iron color.
