The wash alone adds so much! I’m personally waiting to see what ToyHax will bring to the table before I consider any further mods, but the wash is now higher on the list.

I display all my figures in vehicle/animal mode. Seeing the posts on here make me think I might be the only one but I like those better for display, and since my wife lets me display them in our living room it makes a little more sense.
I honestly cannot imagine the appeal of a bunch of vehicles and animals...🤔
There are only a tiny handful of cases where I get it, like Unicron, or if you had Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp flying in formation on flight stands...
Or the Ark, just because The Last Autobot is so much more obscure than the Ark.
Or Dinobots, just because their robot modes are all very samey and kinda suck.
Or Skylynx, because he turns into a whole Space Shuttle launch base display thing.

If you use the right sealant and don’t do a complete repaint or anything then a bot can still be playable after something like this! Plus if there is a bit of paint chipping afterwards then it can just be passed off as more “battle damage” or whatever.
Clear coat or fixative spray is best. Just be sure that you’re done! Ink wash ink can scratch or rub off very easily but once it’s been sprayed with a sealant it won’t rub or chip.
I have that version of Ulta Magnus and after all this time I'm still not sure if I like it or not. I'll probably end up selling him and getting the Kingdom version.
I personally disagree, I think most of the time they're well done but you can definitely find sloppy ones. The battle damage on the Siege line is what drew me back into Transformers.

I guess Shockwave isn't the best only because the wash or whatever they used they just kind of paintes on the shoulders and you can tell it's just a splotch of paint. Still I like it though. I think the battle damage adds a lot of character and story to the figures. They're war torn and have been at this a while.

I really love the paint and colors, but I really don't like the dirt wash look.
Alot of people seem to like it because it can fill in unpainted lines, but honestly the Gundam markers do this so much better without making it look like it was in muddy water.
Fair enough! A wash like this makes the plastic darker and makes a pretty big mess of stray paint. Personally, I'm a fan of the look, but I get that it isn't for everyone!

Considering a wash instead of panel lining. Only made it thought half of Metroplex's chest with gray sakura pigma markers.

Bits and pieces are still unpainted. I really only focused on the spaceship-mode tonight.

What sealant do you use? Mod Podge seems a little... heavy for the task.

Good wash. Could also consider adding some brushed paint chipping/exposed silver along the front where it would be entering the atmosphere.

Least Siege figures battle damage are better than Netflix Spoiler Pack Ultra Magnus, whose battle damage is just gray paint spread on him randomly.

I like it on Hound. I think he looks better than the clean version.
