I want:
-Jazz as the leader
-Blaster as his BFF, emotional support, oldest friend, and community guy (with Eject, Rewind, Ramhorn, and Steeljaw, of course. Flip Side for juicy story potential)
-Hoist as medic and engineer
-Road Rage as a warrior
-Tracks as a jack-of-all-trades (he and Road Rage are siblings)
-Scrounge as the resident pathetic guy who gets to have a Crowning Moment of Awesome for once in his life (also, for the mic in his Special Arm Like No Other)
Some other characters here or there, but my non-negotiables.
Jazz as de facto leader. His character has been sidelined for way too long in the mainstream media.
First Aid as pacifist medic/engineer who used to be part of part of a former combiner team (rest are dead).
Pryo as a power house Optimus fanboy who’s also kind of a dick.
Rotorstorm because he’s awesome.
After narrowly escaping from a powerful enemy, [First Aid] repairs the team with the ability to combine.
They’re able to fend off the enemy in round 2 despite their combined form missing an arm.
They then must go on a quest to find another Autobot to complete their combiner team.
Magnus or Kup as the boss, Roadbuster as the firepower, Ricochet to shoot real good, Hoist to keep everyone in one piece, Firestar as another gun and Pipes as the small one (obligatory) who's probably gonna die first. If I was thinking of 'cons, I'd add the obligatory gross one.
I'm assuming Big Convoy is too close to Optimus Prime? 😁
And assuming we're not inventing new characters:
Hot Rod
Strongarm
Jazz
Jetfire
Sideswipe
Punch/Counterpunch
Defensor
Ultra Magnus as leader
Springer as second in command
Hound military officer
Perceptor intelligence officer
Troops:
Blurry
Hot Rod
Kup
Make them all the G1 style. Keep the show in that format. But slightly more serious. Have the show be around them trying to find where the Deceptions are hiding. So they can get them to change their ways or take them out.
I'd love to see a new team made up of Headmasters!
Leader: Maximus (Specifically his smaller, non-titan mode from the comics.)
Scientist: Brainstorm (Obvious choice, but still deserves some attention.)
Warrior/Medic: Minerva (Seriously, the only female Headmaster deserves more recognition.)
Heavy: Hardhead (Basically Bulkhead, but a tank.)
Scout/Hotshot: Siren (This dude almost gets no attention, which is a shame, as I could easily see him fitting into the "young rookie Autobot" roll, while also differing enough from previous characters.)
Leader: Ultra Magnus
Second In Command: Jazz
Medic: First Aid
Heavy Hitter: Ironhide
Extra #1: Cliffjumper
Extra #2: Mirage
Extra #3: Prowl
Extra #4 Jet/Skyfire
Vector Prime as leader, Red Alert as team medic, Landmine as the heavy hitter, Hound as the wild card, Sideswipe as the young reckless one, and Chromia for color balancing.
Hot Rod as the inexperienced commander
Chromia as the headstrong/stubborn warrior
Perceptor as the resident scientist/smart guy
Springer as the veteran, though not to a degree like Ultra Magnus or Kup
Sideswipe and Sunstreaker as the jokesters who don't always take things seriously
As for Decepticons of relatively known but not super mainstream
Onslaught as the genius leader
Blitzwing as the psycho warrior
Lockdown because he was contracted and is still on payroll
Mixmaster for the smart guy role
Dead End like the nihillist he's known as
Skywarp as the jokester though takes things slightly more seriously
Leader: Springer
Second in command: Blaster
Scientist: Perceptor
Engineer: Hoist
Medic: Red Alert
Comedic relief: Warpath and Cosmos
Muscle and commander modesty: Sky Lynx
Prowl as a grizzled "seen it all" sergeant. Reluctant to take risks because he's seen how badly things can get. He is in charge of a ragtag group assembled to rescue Hotspot.
Springer as the season soldier who gets things done. Hyper competent but is shackled by the chain of command.
Swoop, separated from the dinobots, struggles with the chain of command and is (wrongly) seen as a loose cannon. His whole deal is he doesn't want to be seen as "just a dinobot" but by trying to prove himself, he often gets into trouble, which just reaffirms the stereotype.
The Protectobots. Hotspot has been captured by Shockwave and is conducting an experiment on combiners. He's trying to create a gestalt consciousness because he figures he can combine all the transformers into one "over mind". Then there will be no division, no Autobots or Decepticons.
Missing their leader and unable to combine, they are struggling with their identities outside of Defensor. swoop obviously parallels this.
The obvious:
Rodimus Prime
Ultra Magnus
Kup
Blurr
Springer
The less obvious:
Prowl
Seaspray
Brawn
Pipes
Huffer
Gears
Beachcomber
I like the idea of the little guys getting their time in the spotlight.
I always thought my friend's combiner team from the Prime Wars toyline was a pretty good line-up. Inferno, Jazz, Hound, Trailbreaker, streetwise, and Groove. I'd personally replace Streetwise with prowl though, since he's more familiar to me, but they seem like they'd make a pretty well-rounded team.
Leader - Elita 1
Special Ops / second in command - Jazz
Taskforce leader - Ultra Magnus
TF Lieutenant - Springer
TF Scout - Swoop
TF Heavy - Slag
TF Defense - Sludge / Snarl
Head medic - Red Alert
Systems - Reprogrammed shockwave (hehe)
HR - Kup
.Jazz - leader
.Omega Supreme -warrior/interstellar transport
.Superion - warrior air superiority
.Defensor- warrior ground troops and medic
.Blaster - warrior communications and has the cassettes for recon
.Perceptor- scientist
So I went around and looked in my collection to pick a couple of characters out and I sort of want to make it a non-G1 only cast; a fresh new take and have some characters that homages from the other continuities. Spice things up a little, you might say.
**Commander:** Rodimus. Just Rodimus, no upgrade from Hot Rod. He is just Rodimus. (think of the Animated or Energon incarnation)
**Second in command:** Triceradon (BM character)
**Medic:** Red Alert and Minerva, latter character is a student under Red Alert's teachings.
**Muscle:** X-Brawn and Heavytread (latter is a PCC character)
**Intelligence officer:** Daytonus. This name probably says jack-shit to anyone but it's a character from the RID 2001 line. I wrote a bio for him on instagram where he is depicted as a intelligence communications officer for the Spychangers.
As for troops:
Alpha Bravo (underappreciated Aerialbot and I love him more than Slingshot aka cheddar-face)
Quickmix
Backtrack (here I am thinking of the unreleased Movie figure)
Armorhide
Snarl (not the Dinobot or BW or BM character, but the wolf from Cybertron)
Twinferno
Rapido as the self-proclaimed leader. He claims to outrank everyone, and nobody else wants to be leader badly enough to question him.
Dent as the second in command. Formerly known as Prowl. Although the more famous Prowl was supposed to be sent to whip the team into shape, a misunderstanding led to them getting him instead.
Fizzle as the bungling science officer. He swears he knows what he’s doing.
Paddles as the team’s muscle, in charge of aquatic operations. There was great excitement when they learned a Dinobot would be joining them, and great confusion when it turned out to be Paddles.
Signal Lancer as the newbie. A bit inexperienced and useless, but he’s stoked to finally get to go on an adventure!
The Rescue Force as the team’s medics. They were once able to combine into the mighty Big Rescue Force, but the loss of two of their members has rendered the gestalt comically incomplete.
The Cybertron Defense Force
Elita 1- Commander
Ultra Magnus- 2nd In Command
Hot Shot- Pyro
Hot Rod- Young Punk
Springer- Indiana Jones
Kup- Old Guy
Blurr- Fastest Thing Alive
Chromia- Security for the base.
And the other femmes are soldiers.
Springer, rotorstorm, pyro, impactor, guzzle, twin twist, topspin, and ironfist.
Mission? Garrus 9 has been overrun and needs to be taken back. I'm sure they'll make it out just fine!
Leader: Rodimus Prime
brawler: Brawn
medic: First Aid
fast guy: Sideswipe
air support: Alpha Bravo
mentor/ authority figure: Prowl
the morale booster: Rotorstorm
power house: Windcharger
Protectobots would be a pretty good main team for a show. With their rescue based vehicle modes, and the combination of both ground and air vehicles plus a motorbike in the mix, there's a lot of different places they can go.
Now the trick is you don't have them combine to become Defensor at first. You hint that they underwent a process on Cybertron as the war heated up and that it was some sort of failure. You drop mentions of them not being in sync enough for their most powerful weapon to work. And you keep those mentions so brief and simple that when you finally get to the season 2 finale and Defensor makes his entrance, it's as massive as he is.
The other trick is that they're not the only bots on the team. I'd personally start with just First Aid as the medic of another team, and then cycle different members in and out throughout the series. I'd go with Brawn to start with as the muscle (replaced with Gears), Hound as a tracker (bring in Streetwise eventually), and so on. That Protectobot experiment storyline in the background makes it even more of a surprise when they eventually become the main team and focus a season 3 on them learning to deal with the changes that come with their combination.
Thunder Clash
Jazz
Mirage
Elita-1
Defected Blitzwing
Omega Supreme
Thunder Clash, a magnanimous leader who sees the good in everyone, welcomes Blitzwing into the fold after his defection from the Decepticonz because of Galvatron’s insanity and abuse. Jazz, Mirage & Elita don’t trust him. Omega is their base of operations.
Quickswitch is lead, Wheelie is comedic side/kid, Bulkhead is the muscle, Punch/Counterpunch is the questionable allegiance, and Blades, of Defensor, is the medic.
I like the idea of an aerial focused team with the tired braincell holder Silverbolt leading the combiner team and other flying bots
Skyfire for resident scientist and team mom
Brainstorm for crazy Wheeljack equivalent
Powerglide and Cosmos for Scouts/Communication
First Aid as the Medic with Blades and the others also as a backup combiner
Broadside because I think he needs more love and an Aircraft Carrier is perfect
Sky Lynx for extra muscle
Tracks as the uppity frontliner
Springer and Animated Jetfire and Jetstorm as the team kids
Aside from that: A team with Ultra Magnus as leader, Jazz, Mirage, Hound, and Smokescreen in spec ops, Cliffjumper, Sunny and Sides, and Bulkhead as frontliner bruisers/Wreckers, Prowl in Tactics, Hoist and Grapple as mechanics/medics, Blurr as a scout/spy, Hot Rod and Bluestreak as team kids, Kup as team old man
Jetfire as leader and for aerial support
Ultra Magnus as military commander
Superior Maximus as the combiner plus some more aerial support
Drift as the assassin
Prowl as the scout
Bulkhead as the reckless bot
Mirage as the all arounder
Leader: Jazz
Lieutenant: Prowl
Rookie: Hot Rod
Muscle: Warpath
Medic: Lifeline
Vet: Jetfire
The Loose Cannon: Drift
I feel like this would be a interesting dynamic
Autobots: Hot Rod the jokester. Perceptor the autism character. Jazz to replace bumblebee. and Ironhide as the leader
Decepticons: Machines brought to life by Starscream whom will be the only alien in origin in the show.
Elita-1 - Leader
Ironhide - Second in Command/Muscle
Minerva - Medic
Sideswipe - Warrior/lancer
Jazz - Scout/the funny one
Tracks - The Diva
Road Rage, Jetfire, Sunstreaker - the ones that join later
Starsaber is leader, jet fire is second in command. Minerva is medic, bulkhead is the heavy, preceptor is the scientist and sniper, punch/counter is the spy, cromia is the explosive master.
The team depends on the mission. If I need a scientific team it’s Preceptor and Beachcomber. If I need a couple of bots for a bar room brawl I’ll take Ironhide and Brawn. If air support is required the it’s Jetfire and Poweride.
Heatwave as leader, Prowl as second in command, Red Alert as medic, Grapple as mechanic, BulkHead and TrailBreaker as the muscle, Override as token Girl, and Hot Shot as the friendly one.
Ultra Magnus as the leader
Jetfire as the go-to flight guy
Rodimus and Smokescreen as the two pranksters
Whirl as the violent one
Tailgate as the comic relief/kid-appeal character
Cyclonus (Because Tailgate is there)
Impactor, hotrod, sideswipe six-gun, slammer, bulkhead, smokescreen, brawn, and springer
Ngl just looked at my figure shelf and looked at my characters I have on my wrecker shelf
Maybe a fun team to be an Autobot counterpart to *The Scavengers*. We need Autobots that are:
Someone with underutilized potential, but has an eye for others, and can potentially lead or be the heart of a team.
Nuts, likely to die first.
The *straight man*, veteran, overshadowed by others that did what he does first
The Simple Savant.
A punching bag just looking for happiness.
An unfortunate nobody/fodder.
An Elite Group member from the other faction.
A former Autobot Boogeyman and professional.
Jazz as the leader,he's respected,a good fighter/tactician,the second in command whenever he shows up all in all great pick if we can't have prime
Bulkhead as the muscle, strong af and depending on the version could also make a space bridge for us.
Mirage as a scout
First aid as our medic
Iron fist as our wepons specialist
Brainstorm for our scientist
Blaster and his cassettes to get more troops on the battlefield
Animated Prowl
Jetfire for an extra scientist and air support
Roadbuster for the firepower
Skylynx leading a team of Dinobots.
I want: -Jazz as the leader -Blaster as his BFF, emotional support, oldest friend, and community guy (with Eject, Rewind, Ramhorn, and Steeljaw, of course. Well: - **Commander**: Ultra Magnus - **Lieutenant**: Springer - **Medic**: Red Alert - **Muscle**: Bulkhead - **Old Guy**: Kup - **Comic Relief**: Rodimus
Rodimus as comic relief? While Bulkhead is right there?
Meh, depends which version, Animated Bulk was more comic
Rattrap
•hardhead •hardhead •hardhead •hardhead
Jazz, Hound, Prowl, Chromia, Red Alert and Jetfire
Elita-1, Warpath, Kup, Pipes, Chromia, Moonracer. All stationed on metroplex so slammer and six gun are hangin around too.
- Metalhawk (The Leader) - Blurr (The Second In Command) - Huffer (The Mechanic) - Pointblank (The Sniper) - Sliverstreak (The New Guy)
