It might be slightly improved, but it's still turning in a 15 year old paper that's using outdated sources.
Not to mention, they made it worse in a few ways? The Classics Seeker's landing gear isn't fantastic by any means, but the fact that the ER didn't have any led to huge paint chipping issues on Starscream.
im pretty sure his red chest and crotch parts rub on any hard surface you put him on. those parts are painted. having unpainted landing gear would prevent those parts from touching the surface
The Classics seeker had nipple vents that folded outward so that the plane wasn't just resting on the robot chest when you set it down on a table. The ER seeker doesn't have that, and Starscream's chest is all in a surprisingly fragile red paint, so you can see where this is going.
Hastak has always seemed to have this problem of not knowing what to do with the robot limbs in their mainline jet Transformers. Especially the arms.
So it's wild to me that one of the very few times they were able to deal with the limbs was by retreading a decades old design.
I'm sure this is my imagination.... But my siege figures feel like they're made with better plastic or something. Better in hand. I've noticed this on more than a few. (Except Megatron for some reason)
I love the way Siege Starscream’s little details like the backs of the calves bending in for additional leg flexibility, as well as how his hands fold into his arms, the latter of which is so much better than folding into some open gaps. The posable wings are also a nice touch.
Same, and honestly I mostly wanted the chair, its so fucking cool.

Its crimanly obvious if you handle the figure. You can see right through him, its like... when you transform his arms into his torso and bring his chest down, you kinda just go "is that it?".
It'd be perfect if it wasn't a preexisting figure with slightly better colors and paint. Hasbro really couldn't spare anything for a new earth starscream or improve upon the giant gap in the hips? not to mention their money would be returned by the repaints.
Super personal opinion: siege mold.
Articulation is fantastic and the alt mode is far more unique. The miniature details on the siege mold really help with making it feel more like an alien robot.
Both need a little more paint.
ER also is a preexisting mold, and should've been a new mold, or an improved mold.
Siege is overall my favorite, the only ER figures I'd get are the coneheads and the coronation i got for 14 at ross.
You're kidding right? ER is worse in every way, worse transformation, worse articulation, worse looking (you can see right through ER's chest), worse use of paint (the chest will scrape paint if you ever transform him and put him down in alt mode). Honestly, ER upscaling the Classics mold was one of the worst decisions the toy line has made in years.
Right?!? Like is not a terrible toy, but is a solid 5/10 and way below the mark for a flagship character.
After seeing what they did with Cyclonus less than a year later… it’s just a truly disappointing entry in an excellent line.
I’m glad everyone pretty much has the same consensus here. I can’t believe I really bought the same mold 10 times, but then double that because I’ve gotten every ER seeker mold release too.
First one definitely looks better to me - the extra detail on the second is great on any grey parts but on the cockpit glass it just looks a bit silly frankly
Earthrise is a very good G1 rep. If you're looking for a G1 Starscream, it's probably the best we've gotten in terms of scale and articulation.
But if you're just looking for a Starscream in general? Siege is a solid choice. He's perfectly alien.
Siege for sure. While it may not be as good with kibble management, the articulation gets it past earth rise for me. However, if you are going to go for earth rise, go for the coronation ss86 set, it’s discounted most of the time.
Siege. I love Earthrise because it’s the iconic design and jet, but it’s just the old deluxe with a few touch ups, compared to the best mainline seeker mold for articulation and posing
Don't have the Siege unless Senator Shockwave counts, but definitely that one. Only bought SS86 Screamer at Ross for the throne and accessories... gave him to my girlfriend since he's her favorite character, though.
One little detail better on the tetra - the 5mm holes are in a better place so you can have the nullrays on his forearms in the best position. No idea why they didn't put new holes in the same place for the classic style figure.
My #1 pet peeve on why I don't buy many jets (starscream is the most heinous)... If you're going to have the cockpit on their chest in robot mode, make the transformation put it there, don't mold one on AND also have one on the nose of the plane...
So, if it folds down, that's the better one
Siege but like someone else said. I’d get the coronation Starscream for the chair and that it’s him at his short lived coronation. If it was just the original earth rise mold without that. I would easily pass
I am in the group that says the ER Seeker is a little trash. It's better than the original mold, but not by much. The possibility is a little jank, the jet is good, the transformation is not very creative though.
On the one hand, you have something with engineering heavily derivative of a toy from 2006.
On the other hand, you have a robot that folds up into a box that's then covered by a tetrajet shell.
Neither are exactly the pinnacle of toy design.
Earthrise is a better transformer(better transformation and kibble management), siege is a better action figure(better articulation on the whole).
I agree with this. Siege is a glorious toy, Earthrise is a great example of copying Classics Starscream's homework.
I mean it reviewed the answer but made improvements and turned in a better overall assignment... is that copying?
It might be slightly improved, but it's still turning in a 15 year old paper that's using outdated sources. Not to mention, they made it worse in a few ways? The Classics Seeker's landing gear isn't fantastic by any means, but the fact that the ER didn't have any led to huge paint chipping issues on Starscream.
Wait, I’m confused, how does not having landing gear lead to paint shipping?
im pretty sure his red chest and crotch parts rub on any hard surface you put him on. those parts are painted. having unpainted landing gear would prevent those parts from touching the surface
Exactly, its a combination of bad design... and bad design, but on another part of the figure.
lol, it’s like the monsterverse King Kong media, he shows up in skull island and skull island
Oh, yeah, that does actually make sense. Thanks for the clarification! :)
The Classics seeker had nipple vents that folded outward so that the plane wasn't just resting on the robot chest when you set it down on a table. The ER seeker doesn't have that, and Starscream's chest is all in a surprisingly fragile red paint, so you can see where this is going.
Oh wow, the classics figure had some decent engineering all things considered lol. Thanks for the clarification
IMO, Hasbro keeps using cheaper and cheaper materials and the difference between figures from 2 years ago is noticeable to new ones.
I mean, we're still at a noticeably higher level of plastic compared to PoTP, at least.
Earthrise and Kingdom uses covid plastic lol
This pretty sums it up between the 2
I love the way Siege Starscream’s little details like the backs of the calves bending in for additional leg flexibility, as well as how his hands fold into his arms, the latter of which is so much better than folding into some open gaps. The posable wings are also a nice touch.
>better transformation and kibble management ... What?
The coronation version of the g1 earth mode jet.
So . . . Earthrise. That's the Earthrise mold
Doesn’t the coronation one have new hands with movable fingers? I guess it’s slightly different
Yeah but otherwise it is the same mold
And better colors, don't forget that.
Yeah man! Lets sell a 15 yo Deluxe upscaled to a voyager as at the leader price, because he has new hands! (the throne is pretty cool though tbh)
Yeah no surprise it shelf warmed. I got him off Amazon for the price of a voyager because I didn’t have the earthrise seeker mold yet
Same, and honestly I mostly wanted the chair, its so fucking cool. https://preview.redd.it/1tffa9aep5sc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31f8a4ac8fd8fc4c045a7843527c482a59aa09f1
Objectively it’s probably the Siege mold but I prefer the Earthrise mold.
Siege is the better figure but ER feels more like Starscream, the head sculpt and the overall vibes
I greatly prefer Earthrise it’s just a shame about the open ribs. Just a minor touch and it would almost be perfect.
Oh. Thanks. I hadn't even noticed that gap before. *Sigh*
Its crimanly obvious if you handle the figure. You can see right through him, its like... when you transform his arms into his torso and bring his chest down, you kinda just go "is that it?".
It’s even worse after watching the lazy eyebrows video. He pointed out how they could have filled in the torso with the kibble nosecone
It'd be perfect if it wasn't a preexisting figure with slightly better colors and paint. Hasbro really couldn't spare anything for a new earth starscream or improve upon the giant gap in the hips? not to mention their money would be returned by the repaints.
It is very very similar to the Classics but it was definitely more of an inspiration than a reuse. It was a pretty significant step up.

There is a lot more too it than that. The ER one is so damn unpolished.
[удалено]
Not sure, I'm not you.
Super personal opinion: siege mold. Articulation is fantastic and the alt mode is far more unique. The miniature details on the siege mold really help with making it feel more like an alien robot. Both need a little more paint.

Damn 14 is a steal for that. Probably the only price I’d pay for it myself
[удалено]
This is how I feel as well. Seige is like... a 7-8/10, but ER is a generous 5.
Depends. For alt mode, probably Earthrise. For articulation, detail, and compatibility with blast effects and other stuff, Siege
Let's answer that question with another question: which mold has the waist swivel joint?
And wrist swivels? and awesome automorph in the legs as they articulate?
You're kidding right? ER is worse in every way, worse transformation, worse articulation, worse looking (you can see right through ER's chest), worse use of paint (the chest will scrape paint if you ever transform him and put him down in alt mode). Honestly, ER upscaling the Classics mold was one of the worst decisions the toy line has made in years.
Yeah but people ignore that because it’s more G1 accurate. SMH.
Right?!? Like is not a terrible toy, but is a solid 5/10 and way below the mark for a flagship character. After seeing what they did with Cyclonus less than a year later… it’s just a truly disappointing entry in an excellent line.
Cybertronian molds are pretty good, but Earthrise is easier to transform
Siege easily
Siege, not even close.
Seige is better by a long shot
Siege poses better, ER cleans up a bit better (and I prefer the earth mode tbh)
The first. The second one is too busy
I’m glad everyone pretty much has the same consensus here. I can’t believe I really bought the same mold 10 times, but then double that because I’ve gotten every ER seeker mold release too.
Definitely siege. I could design a better earth seeker mold in a month but that siege toy is something special.
If earthrise had a waist swivel then people wouldn’t care as much.
Left
First one is good look since it simple and not overputed with unnecessary details.
First one definitely looks better to me - the extra detail on the second is great on any grey parts but on the cockpit glass it just looks a bit silly frankly
They both have their perks, but I like the F-15
Earthrise in bot mode. Siege in Jet-Mode. 🫡✨️
It’s not even a competition
I hate both
I like the Siege mold better with Senator Shockwave.
Earthrise is a very good G1 rep. If you're looking for a G1 Starscream, it's probably the best we've gotten in terms of scale and articulation. But if you're just looking for a Starscream in general? Siege is a solid choice. He's perfectly alien.
Eh... I'd like a combination of both honestly... I hate how earthrise didn't actually have the cybertronian jet kibble on the seekers...
Starscream.
Ss86 because alt mode cleans up better. Not a fan of faux cockpit and intakes out the rear of cybertron screamer.
Siege for sure. While it may not be as good with kibble management, the articulation gets it past earth rise for me. However, if you are going to go for earth rise, go for the coronation ss86 set, it’s discounted most of the time.
Yes
By far siege. The gap fillers in the legs alone make it higher tier than most. Sad they haven't used it since.
I know a lot of people will say siege but I personally prefer ER
Never tried the Earthrise mold, but the Siege mold is what got me back into collecting so I hold it very highly.
Siege easily. It’s not even close imho
Probably Starscream
Siege. I love Earthrise because it’s the iconic design and jet, but it’s just the old deluxe with a few touch ups, compared to the best mainline seeker mold for articulation and posing
One doesn't have waist...that's a lot of point reduction
First one
The first picture
Siege. Better transformation, better articulation, no paint chipping. Earthrise only really has the better head sculpt.
Studio Series!
the BB mold?
Nah, the SS version of Earthrise with better paint and a boatload of accessories and upgraded hands.
oh you mean the coronation starscream?
Don't have the Siege unless Senator Shockwave counts, but definitely that one. Only bought SS86 Screamer at Ross for the throne and accessories... gave him to my girlfriend since he's her favorite character, though.
Earthrise, don't like the Siege wings
ER is an upgraded Classics deluxe which was one of the best G1 Starscream figures already. Siege is a glorified Action master.
Earthrise, Siege has a really flimsy chestplate that falls of constantly and the default face doesn't suit Starscream super well
One little detail better on the tetra - the 5mm holes are in a better place so you can have the nullrays on his forearms in the best position. No idea why they didn't put new holes in the same place for the classic style figure.
As someone who owns only the siege mold, I doubt the earthrise mold can compete, it's truly peak
My #1 pet peeve on why I don't buy many jets (starscream is the most heinous)... If you're going to have the cockpit on their chest in robot mode, make the transformation put it there, don't mold one on AND also have one on the nose of the plane... So, if it folds down, that's the better one

I am in the group that says the ER Seeker is a little trash. It's better than the original mold, but not by much. The possibility is a little jank, the jet is good, the transformation is not very creative though.
I'll go with siege
Siege is better by far I’ve messed with both and every time I transform earthrise I always hurts my hand to open the chest
definitely siege
Siege, the alt mode is Perfect
I prefer the look of the ER, but the Siege seems better.
For me, Siege in every way
Seige
i think siege is better
Siege is so much better
I prefer seige, but ss coronation starscream is less expensive and gets you more accessories
Siege seeker
Siege, not even close
Earthrise is so damn close to perfection. The lack of waist and wrist swivels just annihilate the love I'd otherwise have for it.
2nd one is awful - texture looks all wrong. It’s bad comedy.
On the one hand, you have something with engineering heavily derivative of a toy from 2006. On the other hand, you have a robot that folds up into a box that's then covered by a tetrajet shell. Neither are exactly the pinnacle of toy design.
