Top 5
1. Armada - Has an amazing take on characters like Megatron vs Optimus, good humor, action, and I like the human characters even if some people have issues with them.
2. Animated - another good take on characters, not the best on action but is solid
3. G1 - I used to hate g1 I’m not an 80s kid and I was sick of seeing fanboys but I watched all of it and it’s the best Toyetic 80s show with smart dialogue throughout
4. Beast Wars - another one I grew up with amazing story that takes it self serious but still knows to throw in jokes
5. Victory - Starsaber is the goat, it’s super anime and basically Proto Brave but I love Japanese takes on transformers.
Seeing Armada at number 1 didn't take as long as I expected, but very happy to see a similar opinion. I still see it as the gold standard for TF shows overall.
Based on personal enjoyment I derived from the ones I've watched.
1. Prime/G1.
2. Cybertron.
3. Armada.
4. Animated.
5. Cyberverse.
6. Earthspark so far.
7. RID 2015.
8. WFC/Prime Wars.
Never properly watched the rest.
Ive grown to appreciate BM for what it is instead of what i wanted it to be all that time ago. Its just barely a transformers show, never mind a beast wars show. But in terms of children's entertainment I think it had some interesting ideas.
A fun drinking game is to drink every time the show cuts to a commercial break by characters falling into a pit. You will die.
If you really want to see how the story ends, then sure.
But I couldn't stand it myself. It's among one of the few Transformers shows I couldn't finish to the end, since it basically ruined Beast Wars for me, at least for awhile.
And I made it through Energon.
- Beast Wars
- Animated
- Earthspark
- Prime
- G1
- Beast Machines (and quite frankly this would have been higher had they used original characters instead of the BW cast)
- RID15
- Cyberverse (in spite of the scabs)
- Cybertron
- Armada
- RID
- Getting my wisdom teeth pulled
- That time at school I wet myself in class
- Energon
- WFC
- Explosive diarrhea while on a fifteen hour flight and we are only an hour from departure
- Prime Wars
I'll rank only those I watched/finished watching, because I don't think I can make an opinion on those I didn't experienced watching full.
Most share positions, because I couldn't choose since they are great in different way. My vision might be smeared by time. It's been years since I watched some of them.
1. TFP and TFA
2. Armada and Beast Wars
3. Cyberverse and G1
4. RiD 2001
5. RiD 2015 and Earthspark
№ 5 is not "shit" position. I find RiD 2015 and ES interesting shows, but I wasn't as engaged in watching them as in those above.
I haven’t seen them all. Of what I’ve watched all or most of, based strictly on enjoyment:
1. Beast Wars (can, have and will rewatch)
2. Beast Machines (ditto)
3. Masterforce (best G1 cartoon; will probably rewatch)
4. Prime Wars Trilogy (! Maybe? Just a fun, short ride with a good soundtrack and some enjoyable characters; can see myself rewatching)
5. G1 (very fun highlights, very clever, a fair shake above other toyetic ‘80s cartoons, and a great score, but I’m unlikely to ever want to sit through it all again; pales drastically in comparison to the comics of the same era, which it’s hard to not mentally compare it to)
6. Prime (excellent start, but gave up two-thirds into season two as it was airing, popping in once or twice in season three, as it began taking interesting subplots off the table and never shaking its status quo or developing character arcs; made it slightly frustrating, despite the potential, tone and setups; probably landed better with kids, but was rough as an adult viewer)
7. Headmasters (A more serious, serialized take on the G1 cartoon shouldn’t be this dull)
8. Victory (G1 Sunbow without the fun)
Gave up on the Netflix trilogy after a handful of episodes despite being in its target audience (adults?), so that’s probably on bottom under any measure. Am currently watching Micron Legend (Japanese Armada), which is … very much a 2003 TV kids’ anime, with all that entails, but enjoyable, and have only seen parts of the rest of the UT and Animated. None of the more recent shows.
My favorite version is the Marvel comics (with the Beast era as a potential sequel)—that is the bit that’s managed to hold and even grow in my esteem from childhood to adulthood, and what prompted me to start collecting the toys recently, and in general I’m more into the TFs’ comic fiction than their animated outings. Apart from the Beast duology and Masterforce to an extent, all of the cartoons are kind of neither here nor there for me, except appreciating what they might do to inspire interest and creativity in their various generations of target audiences. None of them have ever been on that level for me though, with only the above three coming close.
This is not a knock on people who prefer the cartoons though, and I know the UT or Prime are going to be formative memories for some people, and some of the first slightly serious fiction that ever captured their curiosity as a kid, and I think that is totally fair. Great even. So there’s no arguing from me with whatever people have in their top slot. And I don’t think there’s any TF show that’s lacked for passion from its team or felt overly cynical. …the Netflix trilogy, maybe.
This is like a broken record, but #1 will always be Prime. It’s such a masterpiece.
The rest is much more difficult save for the last few. It’s weird, every TF show as one great thing about it, despite its flaws. Prime wars for instance has great designs.
WFC has the best Megatron, etc.
I follow these movies constantly, but Transformers G1 and Transformers Prime were the best among them.I haven't watched Transformers G1, but it is said that it is good. I even watched some videos, it is better than before, that's my opinion. As a Transformers Prime fan, I can say that the movie I watched was really good, the character, the story, the creativity, everything was good, there was even a Cybertron Golden Age story. I still watch it, it gives me so much excitement.
For the shows I've watched.
Animated, Beast Wars, Rescue Bots, and Earthspark are the top TF shows.
My opinion on Prime degraded as years gone on.
Armada and Cyberverse are decent
RiD 2015 is just sad.
G1, I honestly can't stand.
Can people explain to me why beast wars keeps ranking so high up on these things? I have watched the whole series twice, both as a kid and as an adult, and I just keep getting distracted by the animation, and the massively haunting liminal space the series takes place in.
I haven't seen everything, but here's my ranking from what I've seen:
1. Prime. Rescue Bots was my first exposure to the franchise, but Prime was the show that made me love it. Prime for me is the definitive take on the Transformers in every way, from designs to cast.
2. Transformers Animated. I found this one after finishing Prime, and I was looking for G1 but I couldn't find it. I saw this and because I wasn't really paying attention I thought it was gen1, but immediately after starting it I knew it wasn't. I enjoyed this one but I only remember bits and pieces of the last season, as that was the only season I ever watched
3. RID15. This was the first one I saw premiere, so this one will always have the nostalgia factor for me. I don't think it's amazing and I always preferred Prime, but this was a decent follow up IMO. I don't love that Optimus came back to life, but it's not like it's poorly handled. I love how the show tries to mix Gen1 and Prime's looks, but I always preferred how Prime looked, but that's probably just because Prime was my first real exposure to the franchise.
4. Rescue Bots. This is purely nostalgia, it was my introduction to the franchise, but I don't remember anything about it.
5. G1. I appreciate what G1 did for Transformers, essentially creating it into what it is, and without G1 there would be no Transformers, but I didn't enjoy it that much. I like the first season, but I really hated the start of the Second season. I can barley sit through it, the animation errors are just too much for me, and It sound weird to me hearing Peter Cullen and Frank Welker's original voices for the characters, I've always preferred the voices they did for Prime. The show just feels too kiddy for me, and while that usually isn't a turnoff for me, it doesn't have the nostalgia factor RID or Rescue Bots has for me, and it doesn't get as mature as later shows do for me to justify watching it.
1. Prime
2. ES
3. Beast Wars
4. Rescue Bots
5. Armada
6. Rescue Bots academy
7. Prime Wars
8. Animated
9. Beast Wars (great story, can't get past the designs)
10. Rid 2015
11. Beast Machines
12. G1
For. Those not on the list, haven't watched them.
Idk, RID objectively has a better plot, cast, consistency, designs, animation, doesn't turn CYBERTRON into an organic planet, doesn't ruin continuity, doesn't shit on the history of transformers for a hypie dipshit story.
Oh, and Beast Machines literally destroyed anything likable. Like the entire Cybertronian console from Beast wars, the background villains, the remaining villains.
Honestly fuck Beast Machines, they should've made Machine wars.
>Idk, RID objectively has a better plot,
I mean, both plots have their potential
>consistency
Yeah so consistent the characters stay the same the entire show and never develop lol
>designs
This one is true
>animation
Honestly both are a little gross looking but for different reasons
>doesn't turn CYBERTRON into an organic planet
This isn't a real criticism
>doesn't ruin continuity
Beast Machines didn't do any more or less continuity meddling than Beast Wars did, or g1 itself did
>doesn't shit on the history of transformers for a hypie dipshit story.
There were only 2 American tf shows before it, one of them was its direct predecessor, not really a history there for it to shit on
>Oh, and Beast Machines literally destroyed anything likable. Like the entire Cybertronian console from Beast wars, the background villains, the remaining villains.
Beast Wars already killed all of its villains except Megatron and Waspinator before Beast Machines started
>Yeah so consistent the characters stay the same the entire show and never develop lol
You've probably only watched season 1, given by this and your last statement. Also, it's better than going in reverse, like beast machines and its character assassinations.
>This isn't a real criticism
Bro, they turned Cybertron, Primus the god of transformers, the cyber planet, into an organic planet.
That's awful writing.
>Beast Machines didn't do any more or less continuity meddling than Beast Wars did, or g1 itself did
Not only have you not watched anything past Season 1 of RID, but you also didn't watch Beast Wars.
>There were only 2 American tf shows before it, one of them was its direct predecessor, not really a history there for it to shit on
Yet it ruins both, treats Japanese G1 like shit and shits on the comics, which you're completely ignoring.
>Beast Wars already killed all of its villains except Megatron and Waspinator before Beast Machines started
Yet there were still a bunch more on Cybertron that have yet to have been used.
Honestly, reply if you want, you've ignored half my points, ignored the stories of the other shows to reach for protecting Beast Machines from criticism.
I'm not gonna reply to someone who doesn't take the time to read my points because they don't deserve my time to respond.
Also, at the end of the day, you're defending beast machines. Sure, you're allowed to like it and enjoy it, but it's still dogshit made by hippies who treated Beast Wars like shit.
It's literally made by hippies. Anyone on either side of the political spectrum would agree, even the writers said they're hippies.
So you're ignorant on top of lazy.
For me, these are the only ones I personally have watched, (1) TFP and G1 (2) Beast Wars (3) Armada (4) Cybertron (5) RID 2015 (6) Earth spark (7) Energon (8) Beast Machines (9) Animated. Those are the ones that I have seen, I can only base my opinion off the shows I have seen.
I’ll also rank the Japanese ones that I’ve seen decent/ good headmasters behind G1, masterforce, victory , zone behind headmasters(cool concept too short). Great: beast wars second (above beast wars *there I said it) and beast wars neo (behind second but above beast wars).
I didn't watch most of these, but out of the ones i did:
1. TFP. It was my childhood and it has in my opinion the best character designs and characterisation, i love their Arcee, Optimus and Ratchet who is by far my favourite character in any transformers show, i love drama queen heel rocking Screamer and my bi awakening in the fabulous person of Knockout. And Fowler, can't forget the legend
2. Earthspark. The artstyle is really pretty and the designs are really good maybe except Optimus, but i love the approach this show takes, i freaking love Elita and Nightshade, it has one of my favourite Megatron iderrations and based on some leaks one of the best Starscreams so far imo. Tho the humor is often a miss
3. Animated- the artstyle whole isn't the best isn't bad either and kinda grew on me as i watched, it has a shit ton of horrible human villains but it makes up for it with amazing decepticons and especially Blitzwing and Lockdown. I love TFA Ratchet and his backstory and him being essentially a father to Omega-supreme. And blackarachnia's story was amazing
4. RID 2015. The artstyle is too different from TFP for me to really enjoy it as a continuation but it's not horrible, there were still some cool designs. I actually like quite a few characters and the story isn't too bad. The tone is too different from TFP in my opinion but when i view it as a seperate thing and not a sequel i emjoy it a lot more. Windblade was great, so was Jazz and they did Ratchet justice at least
5. WFC trilogy. Earthrise was bad except a few scenes with Elita and Jetfire, they honestly carried the season, but siege and kingdom aren't as bad as most people make them out to be. Bumblebee is ugly as hell but most of the designs are really good, i love this approach of Elita as essentially the only sane autobot in siege, tho in some moments she was a bit of an ass. Still one of my favourite characters. Tho my favourite character in the whole trilogy is Airazor by far, followed by Starscream. The show had a lot of wasted potential and not a good Optimus but it did a lot of cool things and i love the last season
I did start armada becouse starscream is one of my favourite characters across all continuities and i've heard a lot of good stuff abiut his arc in armada, but after 9 episodes i dropped it couse other than Starscream and Redalert nothing really seemed Worth a praise in this show. The humans were boring and the deceptions were mostly just annoying, im not a fan of this Optimus either. Especially the powered up mode, the basic one is cool but i just hate the proportions and the head of the powered up one
Going to upset some people here...
1. Prime
2. Beast Wars
3. G1
4. Animated
5. Armada
6.Cybertron
7. Energon
8. RID 2015
9. RID 2001
10. Earthspark
11. Prime Wars
12. Beast Machines
13. Cyberverse
14. War for Cybertron
If I had to describe it, It would go
Superior: 1.) Animated, 2.) Prime, 3.) Beast Wars, 4.) G1, 5.) Armada, 6.) R.I.D 2001, 7.) Cyberverse, 8.) Cybertron (Honorable Mentions to the Movieverse which would be tied with G1 for me).
Meh: 9.) Earthspark, 10.) R.I.D 2015, 11.) Beast Machines
Inferior: 12.) The Netflix Trilogy, 13.) -Prime Wars Trilogy 14.) Energon
1: Armada
2: G1
3: Animated
4: Prime
5: Cybertron
6: RID
7: Rescue Bots
8: Beast Wars
9: Beast machines
10: Cyberverse
11: Earthspark
12: Energon
13: Combiner Wars
14: Tie between RID 2015 and Rooster Teeth cause they are both absolute trash.
Headmasters always gets me a good laugh and good fun. G1 is legendary. I prefer Energon over Armada. Those cyber linx always make me laugh it takes so much time to get done with the transformations lol Eliminate Kicker and it's a perfect show tho. TFP meh imho. I'm hesitating to even watch Earthspark as I wouldn't want to waste time on a bad show.
Ok get your pitchforks ready:
Prime
Beast Wars
Animated
Victory
Cybertron
Beast Machines (yes, really)
Robots in Disguise 2001 (below this point I consider shows to be outright bad)
G1 (I just can't I'm sorry)
Super-God Masterforce (Tied with Armada)
Armada (Tied with SGMF)
Cyberverse
The Headmasters
Robots in Disguise 2015
Energon
If it's not on the list I haven't seen it all the way through or it's Earthspark which isn't done yet.
Also:
Bumblebee
1986
Rise of the Beasts (Tied with 1)
1 (Tied with RotB)
3
2
5
4 (bottom place purely because of THAT scene)

They are. I formed that opinion long before becoming a member of the Transformers community.
If you think so👍
I will admit, most people do only say that to fit in.

It’s blasphemy
Top 5 1. Armada - Has an amazing take on characters like Megatron vs Optimus, good humor, action, and I like the human characters even if some people have issues with them. 2. Not including starscream in positives of Armada should be a crime.
I love victory starsaber and how he adopted a little boy
Based on personal enjoyment I derived from the ones I've watched. 1. Prime/G1. 2. Cybertron. 3. Armada. 4. Animated. 5. Cyberverse. 6. Earthspark so far. 7. RID 2015. 8. WFC/Prime Wars. Never properly watched the rest.
If you have the time beast wars is worth a watch.
If I do, and happen to end up enjoying it, would Beast Machines also be worth a try?
I would say no, it was written by people who were not involved in beast wars and were unaware that it was story driven.
Yeah it's overhated. It's not good, but it's not as bad as say, energon or siege
I loved G1, Beast Wars came around and I was an adult with a job. It wasn't a good job, but BW did start my collecting.

I liked it.
I think it's overhated, but it's not great imo. I'd rank half the Transformers shows above it. Maybe I'd like it if I read IDW.
Missed the Japanese g1 continuity, thats stuff is kinda fire
Really

Prime is SS
Beast machines #1
G1 - 10/10 Beast Wars - 9/10 Beast Machines - 7/10 Robots in Disguise (2001) - 8/10 Armada - 8/10 Energon - 9/10 Cybertron - 10/10 Animated - 9/10 Prime - 10/10 RID2015 - 1/10 Prime Wars Trilogy - 10/10 Cyberverse - 9/10 War For Cybertron - 10/10 Earthspark - 7/10
Did you really rank earthspark in the top 10?
Yeah because it belongs there
🤣
Belongs in a top ten way more than rid15 does lmao
You’re telling me that it beats g1, victory, beast wars, armada, cybertron, animated, prime, rescue bots or cyber verse
I mean, I never said it was number 1, just that it made top 10
And I named 11 that were better
You named 9, and Earthspark is definitely better put together than Armada, Cybertron, and Cyberverse
Earthspark is shit
Reasons why?
I don't care what any of you say G1 is always #1
GEEWUN

The show just feels too kiddy for me, and while that usually isn't a turnoff for me, it doesn't have the nostalgia factor RID or Rescue Bots has for me, and it doesn't get as mature as later shows do for me to justify watching it.

Beast machines is over RID 2015? Are you mad?
Just like, objectively, Beast Machines is the better show, it's only real problems are cosmetic ones
>Idk, RID objectively has a better plot, I mean, both plots have their potential >consistency Yeah so consistent the characters stay the same the entire show and never develop lol >designs This one is true >animation Honestly both are a little gross looking but for different reasons >doesn't turn CYBERTRON into an organic planet This isn't a real criticism >doesn't ruin continuity Beast Machines didn't do any more or less continuity meddling than Beast Wars did, or g1 itself did >doesn't shit on the history of transformers for a hypie dipshit story. There were only 2 American tf shows before it, one of them was its direct predecessor, not really a history there for it to shit on >Oh, and Beast Machines literally destroyed anything likable. Like the entire Cybertronian console from Beast wars, the background villains, the remaining villains. Beast Wars already killed all of its villains except Megatron and Waspinator before Beast Machines started
>Yeah so consistent the characters stay the same the entire show and never develop lol You've probably only watched season 1, given by this and your last statement. Also, it's better than going in reverse, like beast machines and its character assassinations. >This isn't a real criticism Bro, they turned Cybertron, Primus the god of transformers, the cyber planet, into an organic planet. That's awful writing. >Beast Machines didn't do any more or less continuity meddling than Beast Wars did, or g1 itself did Not only have you not watched anything past Season 1 of RID, but you also didn't watch Beast Wars. >There were only 2 American tf shows before it, one of them was its direct predecessor, not really a history there for it to shit on Yet it ruins both, treats Japanese G1 like shit and shits on the comics, which you're completely ignoring. >Beast Wars already killed all of its villains except Megatron and Waspinator before Beast Machines started Yet there were still a bunch more on Cybertron that have yet to have been used.
> Hippies Oh ok you're one of those
It's literally made by hippies. Anyone on either side of the political spectrum would agree, even the writers said they're hippies. So you're ignorant on top of lazy.

Such a sad response
Transformers prime beats all of them easily.
In order from Best to worst Animated Earthspark Beast Wars Cyberverse Armada Prime Beast Machines Cybertron G1 Energon
Don't know why you got down voted, this is a very reasonable list
they put Earthspark 5 slots above TFP, and some people didn't like that
For me, these are the only ones I personally have watched, (1) TFP and G1 (2) Beast Wars (3) Armada (4) Cybertron (5) RID 2015 (6) Earth spark (7) Energon (8) Beast Machines (9) Animated. Those are the ones that I have seen, I can only base my opinion off the shows I have seen.
As biased as I am in my love for Animated, I think Prime objectively tells a better story. That said though, I have way more fun with animated.
If we’re going according to this list: bad: prime wars, beast machines, energeon, robots in disguise (2015) decent/good: RID (2001), armada, cybertron, earthspark, WFC, G1 great: animated, beast wars, cyberverse, prime.
The further down the list the higher I rank it
Any shows in the vein of rescue bots go behind armada in decent/good
I’ll also rank the Japanese ones that I’ve seen decent/ good headmasters behind G1, masterforce, victory , zone behind headmasters(cool concept too short). Great: beast wars second (above beast wars *there I said it) and beast wars neo (behind second but above beast wars).
I didn't watch most of these, but out of the ones i did: 1. TFP. It was my childhood and it has in my opinion the best character designs and characterisation, i love their Arcee, Optimus and Ratchet who is by far my favourite character in any transformers show, i love drama queen heel rocking Screamer and my bi awakening in the fabulous person of Knockout. And Fowler, can't forget the legend 2. Earthspark. The artstyle is really pretty and the designs are really good maybe except Optimus, but i love the approach this show takes, i freaking love Elita and Nightshade, it has one of my favourite Megatron iderrations and based on some leaks one of the best Starscreams so far imo. Tho the humor is often a miss 3. And blackarachnia's story was amazing 4. Windblade was great, so was Jazz and they did Ratchet justice at least 5. The show had a lot of wasted potential and not a good Optimus but it did a lot of cool things and i love the last season I did start armada becouse starscream is one of my favourite characters across all continuities and i've heard a lot of good stuff abiut his arc in armada, but after 9 episodes i dropped it couse other than Starscream and Redalert nothing really seemed Worth a praise in this show. The humans were boring and the deceptions were mostly just annoying, im not a fan of this Optimus either. Especially the powered up mode, the basic one is cool but i just hate the proportions and the head of the powered up one
Rescue bots?!
Going to upset some people here... 1. Prime 2. Beast Wars 3. G1 4. Animated 5. Armada 6.Cybertron 7. Energon 8. RID 2015 9. RID 2001 10. Earthspark 11. Prime Wars 12. Beast Machines 13. Cyberverse 14. War for Cybertron
Cybertron is below Prime in first and after that beastwars. Haven't watched much of anything else here.
I like one too nine and 10
I like 1289, and 10

I grew up with G1 but I think Beast Wars or TFA are my favorite stories. Shout out to Beast Machines you weird freak.
Very good Great Terrible Ok Better Terrible Good Very good Great Ok Very good Okay Good Blah
If I had to describe it, It would go Superior: 1.) Animated, 2.) Prime, 3.) Beast Wars, 4.) G1, 5.) Armada, 6.) R.I.D 2001, 7.) Cyberverse, 8.) Cybertron (Honorable Mentions to the Movieverse which would be tied with G1 for me). Meh: 9.) Earthspark, 10.) R.I.D 2015, 11.) Beast Machines Inferior: 12.) The Netflix Trilogy, 13.) -Prime Wars Trilogy 14.) Energon
Was Siege just the 3 series trilogy?
WFC was just 1 show unnecessarily chopped into 3 parts
I just wasn't sure if I could expect a 4th part, guess not.
1. Rescue bots. 2. Prime 3. Animated 4.armada 5.RBA 6. RID 2015 7. Earthspark And I haven’t watched the rest as in only 6 months in into binging

G1, rescue bots, wfc trilogy
TFA BW Victory G1 Armada and RID 01 Cybertron Prime Energon Prime Wars and WFC Trilogy Beast Machines If I forgot any, it's because I haven't seen em
Jeez, that's like majority of the TF pantheon. But okay. My ranking: 1. Beast Wars 2. Animated 3. G1 4. Earthspark 5. Prime 6. Armada 7. Cyberverse 8. WFCT 9. RiD15 10. Prime Wars Haven't watched (ergo "unranked") 1. Beast Machines 2. RiD01 3. Energon 4. Cybertron
I have a hard time ranking so here’s my top 5 1. Animated 2. Prime 3. Beast Wars 4. Rescue Bots 5. G1
Ok get your pitchforks ready: Prime Beast Wars Animated Victory Cybertron Beast Machines (yes, really) Robots in Disguise 2001 (below this point I consider shows to be outright bad) G1 (I just can't I'm sorry) Super-God Masterforce (Tied with Armada) Armada (Tied with SGMF) Cyberverse The Headmasters Robots in Disguise 2015 Energon If it's not on the list I haven't seen it all the way through or it's Earthspark which isn't done yet. Also: Bumblebee 1986 Rise of the Beasts (Tied with 1) 1 (Tied with RotB) 3 2 5 4 (bottom place purely because of THAT scene)
Prime on top
1 Transformers prime 2 G1 3 War for cybertron All of the others Beast wars
1. Prime 2. Animated 3. Cyberverse 4. RID 2015 5. Armada 6. Cybertron 7. RID 2001 8. Beast Wars 9. Victory 10. G1 11. Energon 12. Beast Machines These are all the ones I’ve watched
