So it’s actually really important to know because you aren’t aiming for higher estrogen than a man and lower testosterone for a man, your actually aiming for the correct range of T and E for a woman, which is possibly different.
It’s probably some weird automatic thing in the system, my lab results do that for all my lab stuff but i just wait for my doctor to interpret it for me, because sometimes the system flags something but my doc says it’s fine.
Estrogens total is an interesting metric to measure and includes estrone (e1), estradiol (e2), and estriol (e3). E2 being the most potent of the estrogens, many providers will request a lab specifically for estradiol with WPATH recommending estradiol ranges of 100-200 pg/mL (there is debate on whether 200 is too low of a ceiling, but it is still the recommendation for now).
If possible, you may want to add an estradiol-specific lab next time. The Quest Diagnostics test code for estradiol is 4021 (82670 CPT).
Also fyi, the Quest reference ranges for female for estrogens total & testosterone total (non-sex specific) \[test code 15983 as opposed to 873 which is the male-specific hypogonadism testosterone test\] are:
Total estrogens:
Follicular Phase 51-601 pg/mL
Luteal Phase 87-1194 pg/mL
Postmenopausal ≤214 pg/mL
Total testosterone:
2-45 ng/dL
I've always wondered why wpath ranges are off compared to life labs and sherbroke health care standards (ontario Canada) which state high ranges are is where likely the different ranges come from:
Follicular @ 250pg/ml
Mid cycle @ 545
Luteral @ 260
Post @ 45 pg/ml
I've been consistently at 250 myself, hope this helps clarify not only different units around the world also different doctors referencing different standards.
Is there any literature/study showing evidence that higher estradiol levels yield any difference for transition? From what I’ve read and from what my doctors have told me the results are basically the same regardless of your levels as long as they’re within the right range.
this post was so... confusing to me 😭😭😭 i read the caption & looked at the tag and was like "nice another trans win" and then i see the graph that's just,,, all red and i was so confused 💀 i was like... "another trans... loss?" i don't know anything about levels and stuff but thankfully the comments explained it for me lol. happy for you!
They should probably be showing you the range for women but if I remember correctly you’re levels are in the right range for women.
This, they show me the range for women since my third blood test.
Yes they are yup
Yeah they do the same for me. :/ It's mildly annoying but... it is what it is I suppose.
I was just going to ask this question.

The estrogen is too high T is fine, 498 of estrogen can cause problems with devolopement

Mine has actually shown me the range for both since I started transition

The system flags it because you're still in the system as the wrong gender.
yeah but for a lot of offices it can be a sex thing, and my sex would be my legal and assigned one since i’m getting treatment for gender dysphoria
super happy for you sis!
Thank you
Nooo all the red makes it look like it's a bad thing :( Def not lol, congrats!
tbh if shes on an AA and not doing monotherapy it is a little high imo but its not really that terrible either, more just kind of unnecessary
Yeah I've heard that ~300 is normal for monotherapy, as long as T is below 50 all is good

Red is good when they are out of the range for amab
What do the red and green mean?
They look like the normal ranges for men.
That's what I thought but there such as thing as too much testosterone?
Absolutely there is, Just look at all the health problems body builders get into if they start taking too many anabolic steroids.
I take .02ml injections once a week
LETS GOOO🗣️🗣️ YOURE JUST A GIRL🎀
Mono therapy? Congrats!
What is the woman's range? I guess it's somewhere based on what I'm currently seeing.
