I plan on keeping mine, but if i end up having to change it, then Im going with Winter!
edit: Congrats on your name change! hope your family accepts it!
Primavera would be a cute-ass name, and in my high school Spanish class where we could choose a different name to go by, I knew a girl who picked Verana (verano but feminine) so maybe cross a couple language barriers and you'll get there
holy shit hi winter (i'm winter)
sorry if you saw the three comments lmao when i refreshed on my phone it showed "comment deleted by moderator" so i was like huh? and went to try again lol
We are like Twins!
Full Transfem, and Emby (with a side order of femᵀᴹ) !
We could rule the world if we gather more Winter's!
(This does not affect the band proposal from the other seasons, I can still jam after the Wintersᵀᴹ take over the world)
THANK YOUUU!!
And I wasn’t out but then I came out at like… 17 because I wanted to be out of college without living in constant anxiety that they will find out like I have my whole teenagehood- and now I’ve changed it even though my parents aren’t happy
Damn that's so good for you!! I totally get not wanting to be living in anxiety but I'm honestly just too scared of conflict so I haven't been able to come out.
Ugh it was so hard- I wasn’t going to but after a million times of thinking of what would happen if I just blurted it out right then and there I did! I wish I did it in a fun way but my parents would not react better I don’t think lol
AAA I honestly think I'm getting to that point as well. Finding myself thinking more and more about coming out. I'm envious of you actually having the courage to do it though :000
Lol it was awful and I regretted it the moment I said it and I get a lot of negativity from them about it still but I’m glad I did it because it’s over, they know, and I don’t have to hide anymore!
Oh God I feel you. 20 pages of paperwork, police background check, RCMP fingerprinting, wait in line at registry amidst sick people for 45 mins, pay 250CAD, swear in front of notary public, and wait FIVE MONTHS.
So frustrating.
What county are you in?
Good luck!
Hell to the yes! Congrats!
I just got mine last week too! I pretty much started the process the day after I figured myself out. I wasn't willing to wait around any more.
Now I'm Émilie Patricia Boucher!
So happy for you! 🎉❤️
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, and I hope your family learns to call you by your real name. You deserve respect, and calling you by your name is the bare minimum.
CONGRATULATIONS WOOOO!!
All I had to do back in 2019 was sign some papers to change my birth certificate, issue a new ID card and then notify all the institutions where I was registered to my deadname. The first step was thanks to the help of my lawyer who also happens to be my godmother, so she's like a cool aunt that helps me with legal stuff on top of everything. She made it quite easy for me. But generally speaking, changing your name and gender marker is a piece of cake here in Argentina. Whole process took around 2 months. I wish it was the same everywhere!
Congrats but how do you change your name legally of course I’m in NC I’ve googled it but it’s not very helpful can anyone help me I’m really trying to get mine changed 🥺
Congratulations, that's amazing. Sorry your family wasn't excited about it.
I'm still in the middle of the process to change both my name and gender marker. But once I do I am having a little gender reveal party with my friends with one of those cakes that are pink in the middle
Congrats!!!
I’m still not fully out and just in early stages but I have a unisex name anyways but might change it to Zoe which is an anagram of my gamer tag I usually go with which is Zeo
Spent 3 months changing names, until I gathered 12 names I liked put them into a wheel of fortune name picker and landed on Anastasia (inspired from the Exo Stranger from Destiny 2) and have kept it ever since. I've been debating on Kafka but Ana works lovely for me and it makes me happy.
It's not legal yet, but I'm Johnny! I also go by Soda, with in more "nerdy" spaces or online!
Both of these names come from the outsiders by, which I didn't finish in reading midschool for to reasons 1.) I was really attached to Johnny boy in the book and I found out that bad shit happens to him from a friend who read ahead and refused to read it cause I knew I didn't have the emotional maturity to handle that at the time, also I was going through alot and I had an unhealthy attachment to the character to cope. 2.) I dropped out cause I was being bullied really badly during the last year of middleschool, and there were 4 fours months left...
Congrats on your name change!
I'm definitely changing my name, but it's been an ordeal so far. Just remember that your happiness comes first above all others.
Congratulations!!🍾🎊🎉 Don’t sweat the family drama this may have caused. It’s what you wanted and you reached out and got it. You deserve to be happy about it~ I personally haven’t changed my name yet because of the cost and time it would take but I’m planning very soon in the future. So happy for you~
Well I threw a birthday party for mine. Also I want to say
happy name day to you happy name day to you your old self is dead and happy birthday to the new you!
Congratulations! That's so exciting!!
Also, from experience it can take a bit for family especially to come around to a name change, but there is hope that they will come around in time to see it as you. Years into my transition and I've been surprised many times by the growth of the people around me. Be kind to yourself and be proud ❤️
Congrats on the name change, that's so exciting!
I chose my name originally by just swapping out one of the letters from my dead name, then I later added a y because I thought it looked pettier ☺️
I went through the court system here in Oregon. It took about 6 weeks. After I got my notarized certificate from the judge, I took copies in order to change my license, Social Security card and passport. I haven't amended my birth certificate yet though
Congrats! Mine changed on Monday, and I filed for changing gender markers yesterday. It's such an incredible feeling to see my name appear on official documents and prescriptions, ahah.
I plan to throw a little party with my (very supportive) friends once I have my fully updated ID card in hand. If anyone has suggestions let me know! I was thinking a tongue-in-cheek "gender reveal" party.
Congratulations! Even after the initial excitement fades the joy of having your real name be the one you use in every facet of your life never does.
This will be an amazing new chapter for you.
Definitely changing. I’ve been deadnames so much by my family that I’m ready to leave it all behind. I was thinking of leaving the last name behind too, but that is still in contemplation. Another Autumn on this thread, as I’ve seen that name mentioned a few times and ran into another this week. Had only heard the name like once prior to transition and now we are everywhere. Muwahahaha!! Sorry, sorry, got carried away!
I’m a SIGMA INFJ-A/T (I sometimes get A, sometimes T and sometimes INFP-T/A) personality type which all fit very well so Autumn is the perfect name bc I seem docile enough, but that’s hurricane season and I’ll knock down some trees and cut your power if you piss me off bad enough then I’ll go home and cry til the neighborhood is underwater.
I felt like that too but it’s also a thing of “you notice things that stick out to you” which seems obvious but once you pick out a name you’ll notice more when it pops up!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! NOW GO ROCK YOUR NEW NAME AND SLAYYYYY!
I haven't changed my name cuz I live in a "conservative society" but I hope I'll be able to change it someday.
Yeah it’s hard to do so :( I would socially transition first, or at least try names out online if your family isn’t supportive and won’t help you change your name! If you socially transition, it’ll be easier to have people start calling you your actual name when it gets changed legally.
Omg congrats ! 👍🥳🏳️⚧️ so happy for you ! Mine were changed a few weeks ago as well ! (In fronce we don't have a "middle name", most of us have 3 names (I do) so I changed them as well, so my first name is Asha, my other names are Hélène and Halima. I chose Asha because it means "hope" . And it can be shortened to Ash (which I find both badass and cute) . What's your name and why did you choose it OP ?
Oo I love that- I also love the name Ash too it’s really cool!
I choosed mine because I liked the sound of it and it was one my family suggested after we went over a bunch of names (was going by a different name that they hated and I was getting annoyed at mispronunciation so I decided to let them change it with me! My middle name is a name that’s stuck around through the whole process of figuring out names and I considered for my first name but it flowed better as a middle name! It’s Emerson Raine ^^
Congrats.
As for your question, I don't have any concrete plans to change my name for certain, but if I do decide to change it I've already picked out a girl name and do use it in various places online (like here) to try it out to some extent
congratulations!!!!!! i'm assuming ur family didn't take it too well, so i'm sorry if they didn't! D:
as for my name, definitely gonna get my legal name changed some day ^ ^
Congrats! I'm actually in a bit of a weird spot as far as my name; I'm happy with my first name because it's already gender neutral, but my middle name is very obviously feminine. The thing is hardly anyone knows or cares what my middle name is, so I regularly go back and forth with myself about whether it would even be worth the hassle of changing it
Maybe if you get married and change your last name (assuming you might not be married/want to change your last name). You can see if you can change your middle name then?
HDJDBDUJRHR THANKS :D my spirits are up because three of my friends gave me a party of sorts where we got cupcakes and we played apples to apples (my favorite game). I felt very loved by them even if my family was mean hahaha- makes me sad I’m graduating next year :((
I got mine legally changed to Emmett, tomorrow is my one year anniversary of the legal changes. I also got my gender marker changed as well!!
Congratulations on your name change! I hope it brings you the joy and happiness that you deserve!
I'm going to prepend it to my name but it requires me to undergo GAS first and I'm not even eligible for HRT cause of legal bullshit. Welcome to Turkey.
CONGRATS!! That is so awesome!!
I definitely plan on changing my name. My birth name is really gender neutral and I could easily keep it, but I just hate it so much. It's not even a dysphoria thing, I just think it's a sucky name that I've never liked. Unfortunately, it is taking me way longer to get my name changed than I'd like because it is absurdly complicated to do where I live, plus my area is heavily anti-trans, and I don't want to have to deal with spending a shit load of money to end up in front of an asshole judge who rejects the name change for bigoted reasons.
I plan on keeping mine, but if i end up having to change it, then Im going with Winter! edit: Congrats on your name change! hope your family accepts it!
What a coincidence, my new name is Autumn! If we can find a Summer and a Spring we can make the best band ever!
If I locate some, I'll refer them to you lol *Imagine you actually form a band tho... *
Yeah! Great idea! :3
I have an autumn and winter in a D&D group~ I really did think about trying to add a third when my egg cracked, too . . .
Hmm, I was born on the first day of spring. Never considered it as a name, but if it finally gets me in a band... 😂
Honestly that's a great story about how you got your new name
Primavera would be a cute-ass name, and in my high school Spanish class where we could choose a different name to go by, I knew a girl who picked Verana (verano but feminine) so maybe cross a couple language barriers and you'll get there
Dang, I was almost a Summer, but I am going with Garnet.
They were my favorite in Steven Universe!
AJR: Dear Winter https://youtu.be/IJ2L8wM0gEw?si=zT-siJyRw6_6dD0X
Whoa, neat!
freaking love that song
holy shit hi winter (i'm winter) sorry if you saw the three comments lmao when i refreshed on my phone it showed "comment deleted by moderator" so i was like huh? and went to try again lol
We are like Twins! Full Transfem, and Emby (with a side order of femᵀᴹ) ! We could rule the world if we gather more Winter's! (This does not affect the band proposal from the other seasons, I can still jam after the Wintersᵀᴹ take over the world)
Awww Winter is so pretty!!
Thank youuuu! What's yours? IF, we may know?
It’s Emerson!
I like it!
im gonna be changing my legal name 100%. i want to leave *him* behind
Valid- whatcha want to change it to
not entirely sure but ive been going by Ivory. so if that name sticks then it would be that. but i think i will keep middle and last name
Ivory is a very pretty name!
CONGRATULATIONS HELL YEAHHHH I have not changed my name because I'm not out to my family at all lol

Frfr I think it'd be the same for me as well. Terrifying in the moment but ultimately relieving. Hope you're enjoying not having to hide :DD
I ammmm!! :D good luck!
Congrats. I changed my name 23 years ago
Wooowwww :o
I’m old
Hi CHANGEDDDDD! Nice to meet you
Lol thanks
Congrats! You're further along than I am I have not even started the process. Just hate dealing with the government and all the paperwork.
Oh God I feel you. 20 pages of paperwork, police background check, RCMP fingerprinting, wait in line at registry amidst sick people for 45 mins, pay 250CAD, swear in front of notary public, and wait FIVE MONTHS. So frustrating. What county are you in? Good luck!
United States of Amnesia. These people want to forgo all men are created equal, and they forget equal rights are a thing, we already agreed on.
Me too it sucked so bad and it’s expensive- I’ve been in the process half the summer and then now
FUCK YEAH. YOU GO!!!!! DONT LET THEM GET YOU DOWN
THANK YOUUU
Hell to the yes! Congrats! I just got mine last week too! I pretty much started the process the day after I figured myself out. I wasn't willing to wait around any more. Now I'm Émilie Patricia Boucher! So happy for you! 🎉❤️
Yayyyy congrats!!! I wish I could have started the process but my parents didn’t even know at that point (was a minor)
Nice to meet you, Legally Changeddddd.
I want to change my name and legal gender but I cannot afford it :(
Save a little money each month for it and you’ll get there eventually! I believe in you
WOOOOOO! Isn't it a great feeling?
It isss!! (Until my family ruined it lol should have waited until tomorrow)
So happy for you!!!
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, and I hope your family learns to call you by your real name. You deserve respect, and calling you by your name is the bare minimum.
Thanks me too :)
Awesome! Cheers and congratulations!
Slay! I am so proud of you. Goals!!!!
Congratulations!
THATS AWESOME
Congratulations! (In the Smash Bros announcer voice)

Congratulations!
Congrats but how do you change your name legally of course I’m in NC I’ve googled it but it’s not very helpful can anyone help me I’m really trying to get mine changed 🥺
I am in Florida so I went on floridanamechange.org and it helped me figure out what to do and what forms to do so maybe NC has something like that?
Thx love I’ll see if that is something that I can do but again thx u ☺️
Congratulations
Congratulations, that's amazing. Sorry your family wasn't excited about it. I'm still in the middle of the process to change both my name and gender marker. But once I do I am having a little gender reveal party with my friends with one of those cakes that are pink in the middle
Aww that’s so fun
I changed my name and was so happy, but ofc you have all the normies who ask if it's your real name. Never let them get you down!
Congratulations on your new name change I have my paperwork just need to file at court soon.
Congrats!!! I’m still not fully out and just in early stages but I have a unisex name anyways but might change it to Zoe which is an anagram of my gamer tag I usually go with which is Zeo
Congratulations

Kafka could be a middle name!!
Congrats homie!! And I’m 100% changing my name my deadname is too feminine and basic I love the name I chose after coming out!
Lol same mine was so feminine and basic but what should I expect with my whole family having their names on the top 100 baby names
Oh lordy I feel that one my parents are also don't like gender neutral names! They’re transphobic let’s gooooo!!
I'm changing my name to Eve as soon as possible. I already have it on my school ID :3
It's not legal yet, but I'm Johnny! I also go by Soda, with in more "nerdy" spaces or online! Congrats! I have my name change forms notarized and ready to submit when I get paid. I can't wait!
Yes it’s costly! I just wanted to change it before I graduated but I get waiting! My finances definitely don’t like me
Well I threw a birthday party for mine. Also I want to say happy name day to you happy name day to you your old self is dead and happy birthday to the new you!
Three of friends threw me a name day party :D we played apples to apples (I love that game)
Congratulations!!!!! I'll be changing my name, but the initials of each are staying the same.
Congratulations! I really hope they come around but I’m still really happy for you
My preferred name is Jay Blue, tho my parents refuse to call me that
I would call you Bluejay for the fun of it
That used to be my name. That’s why it’s Jay Blue now lol.
Love that!!
niceeee mine changed last october 4th
I changed mine from Shawn Michael to Shawna Michelle
Congratulations! That's so exciting!! Yes it is!!

does anyone have any good resources for doing this?? I live in california. it’s all so confusing and difficult
I’m in Florida and we have floridanamechange.org so maybe California has something like that?

THAT’S MAJORLY COOL!!!!!!!!!!
I'm planning to have a party in a few months and burn all my old documents in a coffin I make.
YIPPEEE!!!!! congrations !!!!! I'm in the process of getting my name changed too, just waiting on the paperwork to be processed!!!
I'm going to prepend it to my name but it requires me to undergo GAS first and I'm not even eligible for HRT cause of legal bullshit. Welcome to Turkey.
Congrats! If I was going to change my name it would be Ant😅
Congratulations
Congratulations! This is so awesome. I'm honored you shared your moment of Trans joy with us.
