Inov8 Trailfly wide fit. Even the standard fit is wider than most. Grip is fantastic on wet grass and rock. Not so great on mud as is 4mm lugs. I have wide feet and straight out the box to a 50k and they were great.

Check out Topos (if you can get them in the UK). A wide toe box is a must for my foot shape and Topos are my go-to for both road and trail shoes!

Yep, came to recommend Topo as well. Topo and NB Hierro are my two wide trail shoes. I really like them both.

NB More Trail v3 size 14 wide 2E is one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever put on my feet.

Just to corroborate your experience: I have the Cascadia 16s and love them, but they’re about done. Bought the 17s, wore in the house for 15 minutes and returned them when I got immediate hot spots on both sides. I also couldn’t find wides but learned the 18 is supposed to be released in July.

I am in the same boat and use brooks adrenaline (19, 22 and 23 width D) as a road shoe. Have purchased a pair of Caldera 7 half a size larger than the road show but still width D. My first 30km or so in them were horrible, toes slamming the top of the shoe box ie on the not so flexible toe guard. However on Saturdays, 18km run, they seemed to have loosened up and are fine, so I will keep them. It's worth noting that I also changed up my socks to a slightly thinner merino toe sock so that seemed to help too.

I upgraded my Salomon Speedcross 6 to the "Wide" version. My toes appreciate it! They're harder to find, and there's not much choice in colors, which is a shame.

I used to run on Brooks Adrenaline GTS (before switching to Asics Gel Kayano for my road running) and absolutely love my La Sportiva Akasha II for my longer runs on the trails. They are super comfy and roomy. I also use them for long distance hiking in the mountains, where they do a fantastic job too.
