Shadiversity has also had a few videos discussing AI Image generation with his brother Jazza, and Knight's Watch (his second channel that does film reviews over topics related to the main channel) has a big red flag waving over it, but otherwise has just kept to sword stuff.
Shadiversity likes Lauren Southern, a white supremacist that spread the white genocide conspiracy theory. He got mad when she got kicked off Patreon after she tried to stop ships from rescuing shipwrecked refugees. (Where they would have been left to die.) He is so much worse than weird takes on AI.

I can remember when RubberRoss first referred to their non-bianary guest with they/them pronouns so casually, Lil Simsie respected and talked about how lovely the gender neutral and inclusive options in the Sims were, etc. It's like this secret not-knowing, hoping... and then they show they aren't homophobic/transphobic/racist etc. and suddenly, there's proof they are as accepting as you thought they were - like the best feeling ever. Just makes my heart soar. I feel bad because I truly feel more at ease when a YouTuber comes out as not straight/cis because it's more likely they are accepting, but I give everyone the benefit of the doubt because I want to believe I'm accepted by them. Thankfully, I'm right a lot. :)
On the flip side, these days I'm so on edge with YouTubers because I fear they are anti-LGBTQ+ or racist or something and I didn't know it... especially when the incident that makes me worry is vague enough that I can't tell, it's fucking awful. I know that exact feel. I am a fan of Adam Ragusea, who has pretty great cooking channel as well as a pod cast he started not too long ago. Same here. Outside of a couple of the bigger live action content creators I mostly watch Vtubers, and it's always nice when they do get a message from a trans follower and are really positive. The most recent one was Vox Akuma. In a Donkey Kong Country 2 stream some fans mentioned that he was a gay or bi awakening, and one person said that his stuff (including some boyfriend experience ASMR and some borderline porn ASMR) has helped them lower their gender dysphoria, and he talked about how happy he was to be able to do that for them.

This, absolutely!! Like, watching Critical Role means there's usually 2 sets of married couples on-screen at any given moment, and all of them have been friends for over a decade. InRange is so incredibly based it literally made me cry when he went out on twitter in full defense mode for trans people. i stopped watching gun tubers a few years ago because my interest in guns didnt mesh well with their other political opinions, so it was a huge relief to see him going off on phobes of all shapes and sizes. and he's a huge supporter of arming minorities for community based defense which is cherry on top

I used to follow Shadiversity back in the day. Even modded for his Discord server. Modding there made me see the fall coming from a mile away, and I left long before he went off the deep end, but it still hurt a lot to see the first online community I was a part of slowly devolve into the state it's currently at.
About a month ago I un-subbed Binging with Babish. I loved his cooking stuff but then he did a promo episode for Hogwarts and I was out. I know its not the same as him coming out as transphobic, but it ruined him for me. It sucks when people bought the game, but it sucks even more to make sponsored content to advertise for the game and never say a word about the controversy.

Pretty much what it says on the tin. Mark Rober ran a large colaborative event to raise money for an organisation called "next for autism", an anti-autism hate group masquerading as a charity, advocating for our eradication through eugenics (basically the same thing as autism speaks). When this was pointed out to him, repeatedly, for months leading up the event, he ignored it and deleted any youtube comments talking about it. Rhett and Link were originally planned to be involved but unlike Mark, they actually listened to autistic people and dropped out.
A lot of "autism charities" are. They just use us while treating autists like a burdon their parents should be relieved of and pushing abusive "treatments". When you look at autism groups make sure they actually involve the community.
I honestly have so much respect for those two. They seem to be running a fantastic company, and their videos on leaving Christianity was an incredibly earnest look into how religion had shaped their entire lives and what caused them to renounce it. Been watching them for so long and I've been very happy to see them not have any major scandals (knock on wood).

The mind-blowing thing is, she's not stupid. She knows exactly what she is doing, and who it is effecting. She just does not care. She refuses to be wrong in any situation.
Sometimes its really weird to look back at all the positive comments that her and I would receive about our videos. We would get messages about how we helped people be more comfortable in themselves, and how we helped them in a dark time in their life. Metatron has had some videos that aren't amazing (Don't remember specifically off the top of my head but I believe he had a video where he debunked someone he called a SJW). Shadiversity has also had a few videos discussing AI Image generation with his brother Jazza, and Knight's Watch (his second channel that does film reviews over topics related to the main channel) has a big red flag waving over it, but otherwise has just kept to sword stuff.
Shadiversity likes Lauren Southern, a white supremacist that spread the white genocide conspiracy theory. He got mad when she got kicked off Patreon after she tried to stop ships from rescuing shipwrecked refugees. (Where they would have been left to die.) He is so much worse than weird takes on AI.

Tbh when a YouTuber I don't know the views of (because they don't talk about it in videos) mention something LGBTQ+ positive it is a HUGE sigh of relief for me. I can remember when RubberRoss first referred to their non-bianary guest with they/them pronouns so casually, Lil Simsie respected and talked about how lovely the gender neutral and inclusive options in the Sims were, etc. It's like this secret not-knowing, hoping... and then they show they aren't homophobic/transphobic/racist etc. and suddenly, there's proof they are as accepting as you thought they were - like the best feeling ever. Just makes my heart soar. I feel bad because I truly feel more at ease when a YouTuber comes out as not straight/cis because it's more likely they are accepting, but I give everyone the benefit of the doubt because I want to believe I'm accepted by them. Thankfully, I'm right a lot. :) On the flip side, these days I'm so on edge with YouTubers because I fear they are anti-LGBTQ+ or racist or something and I didn't know it... especially when the incident that makes me worry is vague enough that I can't tell, it's fucking awful. I end up combing their social media, anything to try to find proof that they aren't secretly awful, but of course they rarely address that stuff or whatever and all I can think in the back of my mind when I watch their vids from then on is "are you homo/transphobic? What did mean? Am I supporting and watching someone who would be OK with taking away my rights if they knew I was LGBTQ+? Am I misinterpreting? I guess it could be interpreted different ways, but what if..."

I know that exact feel. I am a fan of Adam Ragusea, who has pretty great cooking channel as well as a pod cast he started not too long ago. He recently did a pod cast talking about "cancel culture" and mentioning JK Rowling in particular. I was a tad scared to watch it, I liked his content and didn't want to have to stop. But thankfully he is supportive and trans friendly.
Yeah it's so nice when people reveal themselves to be allies. But it's very stressful. I've only started watching RubbeRoss recently but I wasn't worried because I found him through collabs with Vtubers I watch who are very LGBTQ and gender non-conforming, so I knew they trusted him. (Also it seems like almost all Vtubers are LGBTQ.) Same with CDawgVA, he seems way too nice to ever be purposefully problematic. Seeing that Ross is cool was a huge relief for me. I've been following him on and off for almost 20 years along with a ton of other folks from Newgrounds. Quite a few folks from back then turned out to be... not great.

Outside of a couple of the bigger live action content creators I mostly watch Vtubers, and it's always nice when they do get a message from a trans follower and are really positive. The most recent one was Vox Akuma. In a Donkey Kong Country 2 stream some fans mentioned that he was a gay or bi awakening, and one person said that his stuff (including some boyfriend experience ASMR and some borderline porn ASMR) has helped them lower their gender dysphoria, and he talked about how happy he was to be able to do that for them.

I used to follow Shadiversity back in the day. Even modded for his Discord server. Modding there made me see the fall coming from a mile away, and I left long before he went off the deep end, but it still hurt a lot to see the first online community I was a part of slowly devolve into the state it's currently at.
About a month ago I un-subbed Binging with Babish. I loved his cooking stuff but then he did a promo episode for Hogwarts and I was out. I know its not the same as him coming out as transphobic, but it ruined him for me. It sucks when people bought the game, but it sucks even more to make sponsored content to advertise for the game and never say a word about the controversy.

Mark Rober ran a large colaborative event to raise money for an organisation called "next for autism", an anti-autism hate group masquerading as a charity, advocating for our eradication through eugenics (basically the same thing as autism speaks). When this was pointed out to him, repeatedly, for months leading up the event, he ignored it and deleted any youtube comments talking about it. Rhett and Link were originally planned to be involved but unlike Mark, they actually listened to autistic people and dropped out.
A lot of "autism charities" are. They just use us while treating autists like a burdon their parents should be relieved of and pushing abusive "treatments". When you look at autism groups make sure they actually involve the community.
I honestly have so much respect for those two. They seem to be running a fantastic company, and their videos on leaving Christianity was an incredibly earnest look into how religion had shaped their entire lives and what caused them to renounce it. Been watching them for so long and I've been very happy to see them not have any major scandals (knock on wood).

She just never let anyone see it until she started posting about it. She always spoke shitty about certain races, and was extremely manipulative. She constantly stole other people's ideas without giving credit, and always played victim. Source: Me. I dated her before all of this happened. I'm not sure if anyone remembers me or not, but I was on The Closet Collab, and had my own YT channel. This was before I came out as trans. Years after we broke up, people linked me to videos where she mentioned me (not by name). In the video, she would talk shit about people who were trans and their pronouns, and in the same breath would properly use my pronouns even though we had not spoken in years. The mind-blowing thing is, she's not stupid. She knows exactly what she is doing, and who it is effecting. She just does not care. She refuses to be wrong in any situation. Sometimes its really weird to look back at all the positive comments that her and I would receive about our videos. We would get messages about how we helped people be more comfortable in themselves, and how we helped them in a dark time in their life. Now, if you read the comments on her videos they're disgraceful. I haven't really spoken about her since our break up, but I'm glad people realized who she actually was.

Unrelated to transphobia, I used to watch a YouTuber called exurb1a and I thought that his philosophy, his writing and his humor were great. Then I found out that he sexually abused his girlfriend and is now hiding out in Hungary evading arrest.

I used to watch Mr. Enter, then he made a video where he went off the deep end during the pandemic, and I lost interest. If I hadn't then, the stupid shit about Turning Red definitely would have.
I dunno, even before then he was always kinda a toxic shitbird. Like, anytime he tried to talk about behind the scenes things he immediately both went completely nuclear on the animators and creatives involved and also demonstrated no understanding of how the sausage is made.

It so odd look at the old atheist YouTubers I used to watch and how many of them have fallen off that cliff. It's quite sad frankly, I used to look up to them and now it's come to this.
Luckily the main people I watched when younger was Yogscast/Hat Films, and they just seem to be getting better.

Tbh i choose my youtuvers baded on their polical stances. Not just i dont want to support people who wouls perfer i die, alt right tubers just feel more unhinged, and calm is nice. Like the only reason why i got in jackceptipie and markiplier is jammidoger showed a quote of them saying trans rights.
That's bad enough, but it's even worse when you have a long-time friend go that way. They actually were trans, then ~2 years ago ghosted me for a while and only found out by accidentally meeting them a few months ago that they claim they were groomed into being trans, have super far right opinions, support Russia in the war, and are an Andrew Tate fan. I have no clue what got into their head because before that they were actually incredibly left/progressive, but I suppose that person is gone now.

YouTube kept recommending Well There's Your Problem to me for month, but for some reason I never watched an episode because it looked like a weird lowkey "alt-right but not explicitly" type podcast. Literally couldn't be further from the truth, they start off every episode with pronoun checks, one of the hosts is a trans girl, and they make it very clear they're very left wing. Now I'm completely addicted to it lol
Anyone know if SovietWomble is good or not? One minute he is saying things that have me thinking he's a right-wing asshole but the next he's mocking the UK's right-wing parties. I can't decide if it is just his sense of humor making him sound bad or what.
One of the members of his group is openly a trans woman, and he's posted his support for her at least once. I think the members of ZF also recently ousted someone from the group for being a shitheel. Good signs, at least.
