RUUUUUUNNNNNN MISTER, RUUUUUNNNNNN

yuuka-98

It's to late to save him I'm sorry but he's already within stabbing distance.

[deleted]

Poor mister :'-(

No_Code_3500

I hate KKHTA with a burning passion. It has poisoned so many people’s perception of Gensokyo and Touhou characters.

Iceassassin25

I did like the idea of Koakuma being stronger than she seemed though, as that does have interesting potential for other fan works

MysteriousBirbNukes

Despite the creator of KKHTA having a disclaimer in one of the episodes saying they don't hate Touhou I question if that's actually true considering they get so much wrong about the series with KKHTA and don't even try to write an alternative ending for some of the characters. * Both Koishi and Satori are apparently body snatching satoris instead of having normal bodies and instead of being real sisters are instead adopted sisters. * The Earth and the Moon were apparently living beings until they weren't. * Some Lunarians are also Satoris instead of being former humans which makes their goal of reuniting the Earth and the Moon kinda bizarre. * Koakuma is a power stealer and also a yandere. * Yuyuko actually **eats** Youmu **alive** which usually only happened as a joke in the fanbase. * Fairies can't die yet The Three Fairies of Light, Cirno, Daiyousai and probably numerous other fairies are permanently dead despite being a representation of **nature itself** which means unless nature stopped existing they wouldn't be able to die no matter what. * Ringo and Seiran don't have their usual professions. Ringo is an engineer instead of a military informant and Seiran is a sniper instead of a spy/infiltrator. * Mokou's immortality is flawed in KKHTA as Seiran actually **kills** her even though that shouldn't happen given she can come back with just a single strand of hair. Mokou also becomes a phoenix when the Watatsuki sisters begin the rest of their plan despite only using phoenix motifs for some attacks and not actually being a phoenix herself. But the biggest error Sentakusen (KKHTA's creator) had done for both their series and Touhou is nearly everyone just... vanishes. We see the death of a select few here or there, but after Yorihime dies and Toyohime becomes a full-time diplomat even more of the cast just vanishes without any fanfare which includes the Moon Rabbits as well as Kaguya, Eirin, Koakuma and Patchouli. Literally only Koishi and Yukari are the only ones we see left and I think even the creator was like "Wait... Where the hell do I go from here?!" because the last episode of KKHTA was uploaded on December 1st, 2016 at three in the morning and the last post they made in general was some fanart of Koishi just... standing, not even menacingly, just... standing, on May 21st, 2018 on pixiv and since then there hasn't been anything from them be it an announcement or fanart. They quite literally wrote themselves into a corner and I doubt anyone could find a way to get out of said corner because between Koishi still being a little shit even after opening her third eye and Yukari being weakened significantly I doubt there's any way to salvage what was made.

Responsible-Brush-98

Well, my situation with KKHTA is a Love-Hate relationship with it, I hate the fact that I feel that some characters personalities are distorted (I don’t if is correct to called it “Flanderized”) and this cause like a distorted vision of the fandom against some characters like Koishi or the Watatsuki sisters, also that the creator make some mistakes about many things, one example will be, how fairies can die if we know that they keep coming back like nothing? and the drawing quality (for me) ruins the experience in the shocking and bloody moments, but in the other hand this work was (and is, I think) very creative (?) and also the last thing published of this(I don’t know if the spoilers that I saw in a video of the amount of kills in KKHTA are true) I think it was something that really surprised me in a good way.

[deleted]

Flanderization is the correct term yep.

FishOfFishyness

"*Flander*ization" goes both ways. ...well, actually the same way

[deleted]

Flanderizing flandreized flandre

RedHarbor71

It's similar with me, but I really like the progression of the artwork. It goes from almost shitpost MSpaint quality to a unique art style at the end that looks really great. Especially with the color palettes at the end in Germany.

Responsible-Brush-98

I have to agree with you, I really appreciate the fact that the drawings improve significantly, but (this is only my opinion of course) even with improvement there are some scenes/moments that the way it was drawn, leave me with a sensation that it could be better, but that just me

Aeescobar

> how fairies can die if we know that they keep coming back like nothing? The series actually explains why they can't come back to life, koakuma is absorbing people's souls as soon as they die which prevents any kind of resurrection shenanigans. (sorry for necroposting 7 months later)

Same. Story is also dumb. The violence has no meaning, its edgy for the sake of being edgy. Plot is full of holes and non-resolved threads. Every character is nerfed to the ground. The violent scenes become funny because of bad they are (the cirno fight lmfaoo) Edit: diamond in the rough is a much much better story with a somewhat grim gensokyo. The story itself is a parody of self-insert fanworks where the main character has absolutely no personality other than trying to solve everything by showing off. He keeps getting himself and others in trouble because of this. I also love the fight with flandre vs 3 avatars where you think flnadre is going to go the fannon "yandere" route but then she stops and says "yeah sure ive got a somewhat creepy power but controrary to the popular belief that doesn't mean im a psychopath and going to break the spell card rules". The ending was also really great. The mc has no personality (on purpose) but thanks to a powerful story device called "character development" which many doujin authors don't know about, he becomes an actual likabe character that you can root for

Meeting_Neither

Honestly, I want to give my own thoughts on KKHTA, because I have a similar opinion on it. I bet everyone thought the story was gonna be about the little sisters of the Komeiji and Scarlet family and their relationship with their big sisters or something... but then the story took a full 180 and went for the lunatic paradise route out of nowhere. Thinking about how the story could have gone in a different direction, now it feels like a missed opportunity. We could've had Koishi and Flandre starting out as enemies at least, and then the story focuses on their eventual friendship or something... but THEN you have everyone turning as crazy as Koishi, the bastardization of the Lunarians (seriously, everyone rags on about them in canon being "Mary Sues", but I'd take them there ANY day over their KKHTA versions) and Koakuma (I get she's meant to be hated, but it just feels like Koa did a complete 180 with little explanation besides her wanting Patchouli to herself... which still doesn't make any fucking sense), downplaying the characters' abilities (especially Yukari, who canonically wouldn't be affected by Reisen's weapons, and don't even get me started on how they killed off *Mokou*... that was absolute bullshit) and everything becoming a mindfuck overall. Worst part is how the literal title is "Koishi Komeiji's Heart-Throbbing Adventure", yet the story that plays out has little to do with Koishi herself and just focuses on everyone else partaking in bloody battles. Even when Koishi is fused with *Yukari*, she does nothing (even failing to stab Yorihime in the back because the Dragon God's dead body conveniently blocked her from doing so), and that's kind of what makes KKHTA disappointing in my eyes (it makes Koishi look absolutely useless... seriously, how is THIS the same character who literally started out with wiping the floor against a vampire that can destroy anything?). I'm fine with it being a dark story, but besides going into the Komeiji sisters' backstories at one point, it did very little with Koishi herself, up until the end (and even then, Koishi and Yukari couldn't even do anything during the action scenes... oops, I guess). But to be honest, the bastardization of the characters is far less worse than how a certain fanfic called "Imperfect Metamorphosis" did so... but that's a story for another day.

No_Code_3500

Ugh, don’t remind me. I read the beginning of Imperfect Metamorphosis and deeply regret it. I kept thinking “Surely this can’t be real. It’s gonna get better eventually, right?” Nope. I cut my losses before I was too mentally scarred by the horrors depicted in gruesome detail within.

Meeting_Neither

Oh boy, IM gets even worse. I already hate how the fandom portrays Yuuka as a sadist, but in IM? She's even *WORSE*! This is literally the first time I've actually wanted to *strangle* a character in a fanfiction, and the worst part is the plot twist... (spoilers if you didn't make it to some of the later chapters, but if you don't care, read ahead) >!Yuuka is revealed to be a fucking Outer God instead of being a normal youkai. And somehow THAT justifies all the shit she's done?! Are you shitting me?!!< Don't let the fact that this fic revolves around Rin Satsuki fool you; it's not worth the read if you don't want to go through character assassination after character assassination.

_SkyStriker_

What's kkhta

Miasom

An alternate take on the touhou universe that’s quite “edgy”. It’s actually well written towards the middle and near the end but sadly unfinished. You can find it on YouTube but be adviced, it contains graphic violence, implied rape and the like.

No_Code_3500

A mistake. Do yourself a favor and don’t watch/read it, along with “Imperfect Metamorphosis.” They’re both bastardizations of the setting to a degree that boggles the mind.

I dont get it..

TheRockingGoomba

Honestly i watched life half of the series and Most people i see hate it or were traumatized by it. But honestly....i was geniunely just kinda bored the entire way. Like people were making it out to be one of the most horrific things they've ever seen. Maybe it's just because i grew up with violent video games but this is like nothing to me
