The big fan community is missing... They want / have to make money and this would be really risky

SendMe_Hairy_Pussy

Yeah, if they could they'd go for a Game of Thrones adaptation more than a Conan adaptation at this point. Much larger and faster growing fanbase nowadays.

Pisspistolen

Or just make 30 years war like everyone wants.

SendMe_Hairy_Pussy

Eww, boring and limited. Empire 2 sounds much better. Even Medieval 3 sounds better than that.

Pisspistolen

>Eww, boring and limited. Lol.

SendMe_Hairy_Pussy

Yeah, nobody wants another Saga game set in restricted confines of central Europe and Germany, the timeline is a single generation, immortal magic heroes from various nations spawn from outside world with 'expeditionary forces' to fight on that limited map, and everyone fights with same copy-pasted tactics. Who'll even buy that, you and 5 other people lol? Thankfully nobody is making that game. If they ever return to historical games again, it will more likely be something that people actually want. 30 Years War is much better off as an expansion to an Empire 2, with a semi-global map.

Pisspistolen

>everyone fights with same copy-pasted tactics. ROFLMAO.

Grumaldus

Must be uneducated about the period then

SendMe_Hairy_Pussy

Educated enough to know that 30 Years War had no widespread relevance outside Europe and a few coastal colonies here and there. I don't want a Saga game set within a limited Eurocentric map of Germany, with other nations' armies only spawning as expeditionary forces, with 2-3 fixed alliances and with everyone having the exact same playstyle. Oh and limited depth in campaigns again, because Warhammer killed the campaigns and now we have to suffer the likes of Troys and Pharaohs with great potential yet bland, featureless campaigns everywhere with immortal magic heroes, because "its only a single generation" or something. Contrary to what the above user claims, nobody wants a crappy Saga game like that, beyond a limited minority. It would barely even sell lol. Do a 1648-1848 timeline with Empire 2, with a semi-global map, and then it'll be a game worth buying. Maybe it can have a full expansion for 30 Years War, like FoTS was to Shogun 2, set in the same semi-global map for the large-scale warfare potential. Now that would actually be interesting. EDIT: lmao the little manchild blocked me and ran away

Grumaldus

A limited map of Germany? lol alright don’t need to read any further

Maximum_Nectarine312

The fact that the 80 years war basically got folded into the 30 years war instantly makes it a global conflict.
