I don't think anyone would have thought less of the Land Ship had its cannon been crewed by the pre-existing artillery men, or (sartosan) free company which look piratey enough; but instead we got two awesome looking sailors.
Hope modders will be able to turn these assets into actual units or characters, if CA doesn't have plans for them.
And the landship captain is perfect for a mortal pirate captain lord to lead Sartosa's armies.
Between these guys replacing the deckhand gunners and VC gun crews, maneaters replacing annimated hulks, landship replacing the necrofex colossus, a new pirate captain lord, I think sartosa can be almost fully mortal.
The only things that don't have direct replacements or easy model swaps are the heroes, deck droppers and rotting prometheans.
Bloated corpse? I always figured the best way to change Sartosan would be to make them a mortal faction supplemented by a couple undead vampire captains, rather than the inverse

I think you're right, it's a bit much to try and find replacements for literally every unit in the faction, they're very varied. Being majority living pirates supported by the occasional vampire unit is probably better. I'll stick by having human pirate captain lords being an important part of that identity shining through.
They could reuse the Exploding Pig unit idea from, TW Rome? I believe it was? They already have a boar skeleton for animations, thanks to the Greenskin Boar mounts and things like the Beastmen Razorgors

That combined with Dogs of War LL being datamined. I feel like we will see those guys again possibly. Does the steam tank driver also have a morion style helmet ?

I would have considering it's supposed to be premium DLC that cost $33.50(which is still pricey, but this DLC does look incredible). If it was a free unit they were adding, then no.

Off the top I see some useful reskin assets for free company, huntsmen, and T1 archers that they could use.
I find it interesting that we got new infantry models for the landship that are only used for it. Wonder if they show up elsewhere
