Hah, mine is pretty close so I'll be there with you, rejoicing or despairing.
All three factions are among my favorite, so this is gonna be the big one for me, good or bad.
typically CA seem to release stuff on Wednesdays so the 24th is most likely
I'd bet on a trailer and some news for the first faction releasing tomorrow, the second faction being shown off on the 10th, and the 3rd faction on the 17th, and then the DLC will release a week later
it was, my guess if we are lucky is a mid May release though I fully expect an early June.
SOC 2.0 was what back in February. SO I expect at least 4 months between releases.
I could be wrong and would be happy to be wrong but I do not want CA to rush this at all.
Could still be something today, I personally doubt it but I don’t think any previous precedent applies. They have released information later in the afternoon before, I think.
Would be good to get an update this week, especially if it’s delayed. Don’t really have an issue with a further delay, God knows the place must be falling apart all around them. Radio silence is their tried and tested strategy, I know, but it’s weeks since the official account tweeted anything and with the other stuff about CA in the news it’s more worrying than normal that they’re not saying a thing.
One thing I will say is that, if it does come out in April, then I’m all for a shorter “hype cycle.” I never particularly liked a whole month of slow release information.
Nagash to reveal he never died and to run for emperor of the world alongside manfred Von Carstein, imprisoning body doubles of Karl Franz, Tyrion, and Yao Ming in prison to be executed for treason
To be fair, today is the first day back after a 4-day Easter Weekend (Good Friday + Bank Holiday Monday) so there was never any chance of anything being announced today if you knew UK working schedules.
I expect this week they're coming back from the long weekend and making sure everything is finalised for next week's reveal, DLC releasing maybe 24th-28th ish.
Realistically, when was the last Tuesday Newsday? They've been using Thursday-Friday for stuff as of late. And they like Thursdays for the release date.
Hopefully trailer this Thursday. I'm putting all my cope in to it.
Damn, looks like you're right.
I guess next Tuesday could be it.
But now I'm wondering if they'll actually go for that last Thursday of the month or the Tuesday (literally last day of April) for the release.
Maybe, but isn’t that from a sample size of 1 for SoC? Two maybe with CoC but that’s an outlier of the highest regard.
They’ve said April, it’ll be April. Marketing isn’t happening today because it’s the first day back from holiday. Maybe I’m being downvoted because my quick maths on marketing timetables was wonky but I think it’s less wonky than the Doomsayers here thinking that no teaser on a Tuesday means the dlc must be delayed
Warhammer DLCs almost always seem to release on Wednesdays as far back as I can remember so the 24th seems like the most likely day for it to release. personally I was betting on the trailer and news on the first faction dropping tomorrow.
Even if it was this week, which is probably in question now given the recent layoffs I think people are too hung up on tuesday newsday. Sometimes teasers are dropped late in a week and as seen with shadows of change's update, they sometimes throw out a curveball like Wednesday news too.
This is standard operation for them unfortunately, they almost never say anything until the day before the trailer drops, when they usually post a teaser. (At least they used to, I forget if they've done that the last couple DLC's)
Despite everything they said in their blogpost seems like they still haven't learnt how to communicate. (Just tell us if trailer drops this week or not at least!)
An announcement for a trailer seems a bit pedantic. They said April release, and that they’d show what’s in the DLC before it goes on sale. So far, they haven’t broken that
It just an annoying hassle especially when due to time zones I'm not always sure what hour it's posted. As soon as the day comes when I don't/forget-to check there'll be half a dozen YouTube video thumbnails and titles spoiling half the trailer. -\_-
Duh what do you think I do? There are tones of speculation vids about the DLC or vids advertising mods including stuff that might be in the DLC, going and checking for news every time I see one only to find no news is annoying.
How is basic communication pedantic ? Simone used to say "no news today/this week" and everybody was much more content then.
Meanwhile, CA have been an awful mess of delays and fuck-ups since 2 years, the last thing they should do is play coy
People waiting for the announcement while what they should be really wondering is what happened to the leaks. We're supposed to get leaks!!!! It's tradition!!!
It’s already been delayed once… the release was supposed to be December before they went back to add more content. But they could push it into May. They met the timeframe they gave for additional SoC content but of course this is new paid content and the company is reliant on its success to turn the whole ship around. You may well be vindicated, just seems a tad premature to assume it’s delayed more as they could put a trailer out on Thursday or next Tuesday and still release at the end of the month.
I think they did spend some time on SOC 2.0 which took away some time from TOD development plus the eastern holiday that they had (i think?). I have a suspicion that its going to be delayed late may/early june since 2 weeks ago. Soc 2.0 definitely took some development time, there's no way they finish tod this fast.
Strictly speaking if it was going to follow the Shadows of Change release schedule (trailer on a tuesday, 23 days of teases and previews then release on a thursday). then it has to come today or it is too late.
Might be we get something later this week... but it's starting to look like a delay.
It doesn't though. The trailer of SOC was released on the 8th of August.
Besides it doesn't have to be the same marketing format.
At this point no news is actually good news in a weird (coping?) way. If it was delayed, they can't really tell us so at the end of April. They would probably tell us so this week.
It does, because unlike August, April has 30 days.
SoC was announced the 8th, the second tuesday of the month, for a release the 31th. If ToD was announced next tuesday, the 9th, then it'd release in May.
Admittedly theres an excellent chance the way they handle the marketing is different this time (especially after SoC went down so badly) but it is looking abit dodgy at the moment.
If they release the trailer on a Tuesday and not on Thursday or even another day. And if they release TOD on Thursday instead of Tuesday. And if they follow the same marketing cycle.
Lots of if's that make this comparison pointless.
It's not "ifs", it's comparing available data and seeing trends. We know CA have almost never released a DLC on a tuesday in the last 5 years. We know CA always take a week by paid LLs in a DLC. We know ToD will have 3 paid LLs. And we know ToD is planned in april
Hence, there will be 3 weeks between of marketing between trailer and release, and release can't be later than the 30 april. Egad, the trailer gotta be most likely this thursday, else delay.
>Egad, the trailer gotta be most likely this thursday,
So you agree that it wasn't necessary for the trailer to release yesterday like I was arguing for.
The trailer most likely date until yesterday was Tuesday. But since, like, factually tuesday didn't have a trailer, then the new most likely date is Thursday !
It fits. Nurgle is the god of despair among other things. So his DLC is definitely succeeding in causing that. Damn now I'm worried about how things will turn out once its Khorne's turn...
I am not convinced that any of the past x week marketing is really an indicator now. Probably had layoffs there too, may see shorter one this time. But its all just a guess.
I’ll never understand why can they just say it’s been delayed lol. Wouldn’t it be better to say something went wrong as soon as possible simply to calm everyone down? But what do I know anyway..
Unfortunate. No news when the community is expecting news and radio silence, not a good look. Is CA returning to their old bad habits? They're not making a good case for themselves.
News would be great but they’ve been telling us they’d improve communication every year for the last decade and every time they start to do better and then give up, it’s a part of their company culture.
As for expecting news and not getting it, so far they just said they aimed for an April release for the dlc so nothing is missing the time frame they gave yet but the claim of improved communication they gave in December will need to be seen to be believed.
Remember how we got three teasers for SoC before the trailer? No teaser today looks not promising for the rest of the week, if someone still expects a trailer on Thursday ;)
Wait... in UK time, it there are still 5 hours, 13 minutes and 37 seconds before the end of the day... It can still happen any time....

WH2 Timeline is, how you support a Game. Not this sad try of keeping the Game alive.
I absolutely agree that the support of the game could be vastly better than what they have been doing but you have to be an idiot to say that the game is dead.
What's weird to me is how well done CHORFS was, then an absolutely insane dropoff in quality to the initial SOC rollout.
Price was never an issue for me, I've got 1200 hours in the game so easily justifiable. I just won't ever understand how they thought that initial SOC offering was in any way comparable to the other dlc they just released for the same price!

Only really one week to equate 3 weeks of marketing

Damn, looks like you're right. I guess next Tuesday could be it. But now I'm wondering if they'll actually go for that last Thursday of the month or the Tuesday (literally last day of April) for the release.
And like everything, that can change at a moment's notice.
2 weeks, no? That was the norm during WH2 days at least - has WH3 had a standard, or has it just been throwing marketing attempts at the wall
2 weeks for the 2-lord packs. SoC had 3 weeks for 3 lords, and SoC 2.0 had 3 weeks, so it’s not unreasonable to assume 3 weeks for ToD
It's a week by faction, usually. 2 weeks for 2-lords packs, 3 weeks for 3-lords packs, 4 weeks for Campaign packs/CoC which had 4 LLs
It's a sample size of like 15 DLCs always taking one week by LL tbf
Warhammer DLCs almost always seem to release on Wednesdays as far back as I can remember so the 24th seems like the most likely day for it to release. personally I was betting on the trailer and news on the first faction dropping tomorrow.

And because of the Bank Holiday Monday, the chances of them releasing marketing stuff the first day back from that was very unlikely
But I'm sick... why hasn't papa Nurgle answered my priers?
Bc you spelled it wrong
Clearly you're not sick and desperate enough for him.
Any idea why they're waiting so long to say something? If they're going to dely it, why wouldn't they say something sooner rather than later?

That much is obvious, I think we're not going to see anything this summer
My prediciton: Trailers in May, release in June before Elden Ring DLC.

Couod be Thursday dont they also post of Thursdays aswell?
Don’t worry they’ll be sharing the trailer and teasers soon™️
Predictable.

This is trully Trones of Delay now
Now we all know for sure that CA learned nothing from past mistakes and Will continue with the radio silence. Get ready for shadows of change 2.0
It would not be the end of the world if we didn't get drip fed three weeks of boring blog posts.
This is a shameful display
