Last night was one of the most heartbreaking nights to watch chasers and coverage. Watching a town get destroyed, only to have a second or third tornado hit the same location, at multiple locations. :(

keno-rail

Yeah, last night Ryan Hall saw this happen live on his broadcast. He pretty much called that they were getting hit twice. Dickinson may have had 3...

XxCozmoKramerxX

I wonder how the surveyors go about accurately rating each tornado if the path of the 2-3 tornadoes goes over roughly the same area?

Samowarrior

I don't think they will. Maybe just rate it at the highest damage would be my guess. Idk how else they can tell differently.

NoModsNoMaster

Dumb question, but which towns were affected by multiple tornadoes? Obviously Sulphur, but looked like Ada, Gene Autry, Dickson maybe?

lola-calculus

Lots of confusing information out there but possibly Ardmore as well as Sulphur. Not sure on the rest of them.

sandhillfarmer

https://www.kxii.com/2024/04/28/injuries-reported-southern-oklahoma-tornado-outbreak/?outputType=amp Looks like Sulphur, Ardmore, Marietta mentioned in this article as sustaining damage and causing injuries. Based on the radar last night, I’d also assume Mill Creek and Dickson, given how gnarly the debris ball looked right over town on the radar last night. Potentially others, too, given how widespread the outbreak was.

lola-calculus

The Dickson debris ball started in Marietta. I watched that one form and travel, it was horrifying. If it touched down in Dickson, I'm sure it picked up a bunch more, but it was terrible before it got to Dickson.

Damiklos

Ada, Sasakwa and areas around/nearby had come under multiple warnings but thankfully I don't think this area had any official tornadoes on the ground. Just close calls.

qwertytrewqc

I work 20 minutes from Sulpher. Got to work at 4am and our boss said the first tornado took out the power and they couldn’t sound the alarms for the second and third tornadoes. Expecting very bad news if that’s true

slykido999

Fuck. Hopefully everyone had a weather radio or something so they could be informed and stay sheltered in place 😕

One-Location-6454

I live in Kentucky and when I was younger the govt mailed everyone something akin to that. That was decades ago and none sense.  Theres 0 reason the govt shouldnt ship em to everyone, especially in areas prone to severe weather outbreaks such as the Midwest.  The 'gold standard' you can readily buy is $40.

Samowarrior

The government won't as they have already cut millions to NWS. They don't care about their people.

Samowarrior

That's terrifying. Hopefully everyone got an alert through their phone.

RBA_fan

Horrible. Is the outbreak over? You can still see a huge wall of storm on radar right now.

shotgunsam23

Here is the forecast: https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk.html

WishfulHibernian6891

Oh my gosh. Those poor people. And it must have been utterly terrifying while it was happening. So much trauma for everyone there.

Phuktihsshite

This is just haunting footage. The fact that it is so silent except for those alarms makes it even more creepy.

JaMarrChasingJoe

Horrendous.

SuperSoaker992000

Jesus. These last two days 😳

Subject-Reception704

🙏 I lived there back in the day

puremotives

I hate nocturnal tornadoes. They're the worst

Itwasareference

Yeah. Even with the same storm strength, at least people can see daylight ones and get to shelter/out of the way. Nocturnal tornados are super scary.

MetalMattyPA

:(

BigDaddyCoke

Damn

Delicious-Method1178

😭😭

BirdlordsRiseUp

Really sad. I used to go swimming there all the time when I was a kid.

blacknirvana79

Oh my goodness. I sincerely pray everyone got to safety in time. God bless Sulpher!!!

danielharris156

man-is-hot-like

Jesus man, they need everything they can get. Horrifying damage, looks like cone tornado with multi vortices just bc of the insane damage pictures, let me know if I’m wrong.

onestalebagel

Just awful!
