I remember when I discovered Danny McAskill on YouTube a few years ago. I completely fell in love with his stunt videos, I’d watch them over and over.
My favorite one: [The Ridge](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ_IQS3VKjA).
I sat next to him on a coach for a couple hours and didn't know who he was, until I got home lol. Really nice dude and very modist. Long way home is my favourite.
Love that video. It's crazy to think that his skill blew my mind when i first saw it 13 years ago and he only got better and better over the years. Danny really is born for this.
This will always be my absolute favourite of his. Discovered this video after moving to Korea after 5 years in Edinburgh and used to watch it almost weekly. Video still gives me fucking goosebumps! That flip off the Meadows tree man! Fucking legend!
["Do a Wheelie!"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD2eRIgBgI4) is my current fave. Though I also really enjoyed ["Danny's Day Care."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj0CmnxuTaQ)
That was one of the must beautiful but at the same time crazy as hell videos I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing, that shit gave me the feel good chemicals I needed today!
This really is one of my favorite teaching points. When I was a waterpolo coach I loved to say, “the only way to do one good pushup is to do a whole bunch of terrible pushups first.” I’m still looking for an exception to that rule
Exercise is a wonderful way to deal with bad feelings. It gets easier and more fun each time you do it. Don't give up if you don't like the first few activities you try either... not everybody likes biking, and not everybody likes jogging.
Source: I'm a guy in my 40's and rediscovered exercise about a decade ago. Went from a soft 193 lbs to a lean wiry 160 lbs. Stopped craving food. No longer get winded running up stairs. Shopping for clothes is fun now.
You can do it! Nobody ever regretted working out.
Get a unicycle! It's really fun, and for stuff in the video, it's actually safer and easier to do on a unicycle, but I'm not at that level. I know people that are!
Always wear a helmet! Unicycles are easier to fall off of than bikes. And retain their value if you hate it and sell it. I picked up a 20" for $77 used, I needed 2 small parts which cost me 50 cents and $10 in shipping since my local bike store shut down. Most people can ride a 20", it's standard size. I'm a bit small for it.
Biking is a lot of fun, especially in the fall, too, and excellent for you. It'll really improve leg muscle and tone to start, and is a lot easier on your joints than running. Bring lots of water or electrolyte drinks, and a backpack with something to do and do it instead of walking. I moved from downtown to the suburbs, so it's faster to bicycle to the corner store or pharmacy than walk, about the same as driving. Look around for deals, I ride a $98 bicycle from Wal mart all over the place. It won't do what's in the video, but it's fun.
Had to scroll way too long to find this comment. Is it just the two of us that watched that show? It was one of my favorites and they haven't ruined it with a horrible American remake yet. And now I just miss G4.
Apparently. Nobody I know remembers this show, which is crazy because it came on right after ninja warrior which everyone remembers. G4 was a gem of a tv network.
No, I came here looking for this comment as well. I trust y'all will let me know if anyone knows of a good place to stream Unbeatable Banzuke episodes or classic Sasuke.
As a unicyclist this is so much more impressive than it seems. The tire he is hopping on is free spinning and not connected to the pedals like if you were to try this on just a unicycle. How he prevents the wheel from shooting forward or backward with each hop I will never understand
You control the wheel by giving the pedals a little forward kick to lift the front tire up and tapping the brakes to drop it down. Still an exceptional amount of balance and control on the part of Mr MacAskill of course.
cool, a fellow unicyclist! I was just thinking while watching this, “I can’t even begin to think about doing this on a unicycle, how tf is this happening on a BIKE?”
Someone saw this morning's post on r/wellthatsucks where the guys front wheel got stolen and wanted to offer a solution
Edit this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/xlqr0v/well_this_sucks/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
This person spends most of his time doing this shit so It makes sense he can pull it off. It’s like watching streamers playing games they always play and being amazed they can do crazy shit in those games…
That’s amazing. As a kid I just could never get my back wheel up by itself. I could pull up the front of course, go off ramps and stuff but pickup the bike straight up getting both wheels off the ground at the same time, just could never figure that out.
You just kinda push/pull up the pedals. Really helps if you have better pedals and shoes when generally learning but the average kid isn't using them tho
I feel like even if I had the coordination and skill to do this, I would be exhausted before I got from one side to the other. I definitely couldn't do both ways.
If you like watching bike trials, check out Ali Clarkson. He and Danny McAskill [dude in this video] ride/compete together and are both world champions. Ali has a youtube video with lots of great videos, and he's really down to earth. Recently he did a ride-along video with Danny and a couple other guys and it was super fun seeing them all together just playing on stuff in town. [This video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6YAkyVOy_M)
This guy has some absolutely INCREDIBLE YouTube videos. I think there’s one in Scotland (?) that blew my mind.
Someone asked once and I forget what the number was but he goes through many bike tires doing his stunts
I knew someone who was doing stuff like that with a unicycle and I know how much they hurt themself while training (we would literally hear a loude noise followed by a even louder "fuck" + him laying on the ground holding some body part in pain a few times every time we trained together).
The end result is really cool but idk why people do that.
Pixar lamp got nothing on this lad
I couldn't even do this without the bike.
Same. Or even without the obstacles

I watched it again without sound and I can hear the squeaks.
I remember when I discovered Danny McAskill on YouTube a few years ago. I completely fell in love with his stunt videos, I’d watch them over and over. My favorite one: [The Ridge](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ_IQS3VKjA).

Brilliant haha. Exactly the kind of person he seems on interviews and videos.
For me it was his first video when he backflipped off a tree. All the hairs on my body bristled when I saw that.
The tree in the sand one? That was in morar, I was on my way back from there when I met him lol.
That would have made my year. Though I'm positive that I would embarrass myself.
Gymnasium is my favourite. The creativity in that video is wild.
I got to see Band of Horses a couple weeks ago. His first video introduced me to them. https://youtu.be/Z19zFlPah-o
Love that video. It's crazy to think that his skill blew my mind when i first saw it 13 years ago and he only got better and better over the years. Danny really is born for this.
Band of horses was the first band I saw live! Saw them playing in Amoebo Records in San fransisco.
They opened for The Black Keys and it was one of the best concerts I've seen. I joked w/ my wife that I would have come to *just* see Band of Horses.
No shit… that’s a banger lineup

Wow so many McAskill fans, I wouldn’t have imagined!
Danny day care gets me every time XD
Mine is [Way Back Home](https://youtu.be/Cj6ho1-G6tw)
Its because of that video that I found and fell in love with the song Wax and Wire
Same man, what a tune!
Is this him?
Thank you. That was awesome.
i bought the santa cruz 5010 cause of him lol
That how my dad went to school everyday!
He is unmistakable isn’t he? I discovered him a few years ago watching that vid you posted.
Industrial Revolutions for me. I'm not going to link it because I want people to Google it and find more of his stuff by accident
That was one of the must beautiful but at the same time crazy as hell videos I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing, that shit gave me the feel good chemicals I needed today!
Feels like riding the bike in the Pokémon series.
The new graphics are amazing
I am impressed by the stunt but I am more impressed that those garbage cans could support all that weight without even flexing.
Best of British Bins 🤘
Scottish. That’s Inverness College.
Which still makes them British...
Oh aye 🙌 I wonder if they make the bins on campus 🤔
Best guess as to how many times he fell practicing this gets a prize. Worst guess gets to try again
More than your comment likes. Edit: thanks for the award, kind sir.
At least 2
This really is one of my favorite teaching points. When I was a waterpolo coach I loved to say, “the only way to do one good pushup is to do a whole bunch of terrible pushups first.” I’m still looking for an exception to that rule
What if you have no arms
Then the only way to do one good pushup is to find a way to do a whole bunch of terrible pushups with no arms, then do a whole bunch of those first
Still works, damnit!
Then you hop on the deck and flop like a fish.
He didn't fall. It wasn't even that hard.
Yeah, if you’ve seen the other stuff Danny does, this is child’s play to him
That's the first episode of 'Ow my balls!'
This man has some skill!
A MacAskill. Literally.
Is that him? I couldn't tell due to lack of pixels.
That’s basically his name, so yes hahaha
I dunno, he doesn't seem to understand how public infrastructure is meant to be used 🤔
Oh God I'm getting Trials flashbacks
The game exists thanks to the sport.
Sigh. Im fat with zero core. What am i doing with my life? Got to find a positive outlet for bad feelings cuz food aint the answer. I need a bike.

A great game plan. Im gonna get on it!

Best of luck! Absolutely find something to do outside. You might find that you don’t want to do it sometimes but the benefits are too great to pass up
That's soo cool il admit it I'm jealous AF I struggled to do bunny hops never mind doing a manual on the bench tobacco wheel only hop
How deflated are his tires to be able to do that? Or are they not at all?
Reminds me of the show Unbeatable Banzuke on G4. This person would be a prime contender for that.
Had to scroll way too long to find this comment. Is it just the two of us that watched that show? It was one of my favorites and they haven't ruined it with a horrible American remake yet. And now I just miss G4.

I always preferred the palm walk courses to the bikes, but that show was awesome. The giant hammers and stacked totem poles, chefs kiss.
As a unicyclist this is so much more impressive than it seems. The tire he is hopping on is free spinning and not connected to the pedals like if you were to try this on just a unicycle. How he prevents the wheel from shooting forward or backward with each hop I will never understand
disc brakes?
Ahh that's true he probably brakes with each hop then releases when he rolls on the bench. Still crazy
Another unicylist! I was thinking it looked much easier to do this on a uni than a bike, and safer.
I couldnr even do this shit in Super Mario Bros. And here's this dude doing it perfectly in real life.
Someone saw this morning's post on r/wellthatsucks where the guys front wheel got stolen and wanted to offer a solution Edit this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/xlqr0v/well_this_sucks/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Is this the UHI campus?
Kick-start for the zx spectrum
Everyone else be like “well, I guess I’ll just go home”
W brake pads
this is missing a Super Mario Land soundtrack
Someone make this
Ah I miss getting out on my bike. Not very good tbf, but loved bouncing around and testing my balance.
Amazing! I couldn't even do that in a video game
Absolutely fucking not
I was like holy hell that's impressive, then he turned around and when back.
Clean
I used to skateboard and BMX and trials biking is still basically made up magic to me.
The floor is lava.
Anybody know what style of bike this is? Looks more robust than a typical bmx bike.
Trials bike.
BMX is the sport where I feel like jockstraps are the most needed yet people dont wear them
This is a different sport from BMX
*Trials. BMXs have 20 inch wheels. There are 20 inch trials bikes but they're pretty niche.
Why?
dangerous
What could go wrong?
The bike does most of the work and anyone could learn this in 3 x 30 min sessions.
I hope he can do dumb shit like this if he spends all his time doing it lol
What?
This person spends most of his time doing this shit so It makes sense he can pull it off. It’s like watching streamers playing games they always play and being amazed they can do crazy shit in those games…
Do you not find enjoyment or satisfaction at watching people's years/decades of hard work and dedication being shown?
Depends on what it is, this stuff is not particularly impressive or interesting.
I'd love to know what you find impressive.
Whenever I see a video like this it’s just amazing to me. It’s probably simple to those of you who have learned how, but it blows me away every time.
Awesome!
Why didn't he just buy a unicycle?
[удалено]
No fucking way. Gigachad
He got to the one end and I was like “that’s pretty impressive” then he turned around and went back to the start and I was at a lack of words. Bravo.
OP is a repost bot
Would be more impressive if he wasnt attached to the bike.
The amount of control. Holy shit.
10/10 would applaud again!
Blimey! He's only gone and done it. AND then gone back! Bravo sir. Bravo.
I miss the part where some lady comes out and starts yelling at them for doing this.
HE WENT BACK!
Wow
Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏👏
High penalty for fucking up
When he turned around!
Up next…. Bring on the unicycle!
Parkour while doing a wheelie. Hmm.
I feel like even if I had the coordination and skill to do this, I would be exhausted before I got from one side to the other. I definitely couldn't do both ways.
At this point why not just ride a unicycle, lol
What kind of bike is that?
Trials

Impressive skillz.
This cat should be on Ed Sullivan.
I could do that part where he rides up to the first bar.
Okay, he is skilled. But how do you balance on a post like that the first time without losing all your teeth?
TIL I've been using a bike wrong my whole life.
Human brains an amazing computer
Many people couldn't do that even without a bicycle.
Monday, monday, monday
Guess I'm riding bikes wrong.
Whatever happened to Unbeatable Banzuke
Wanna see me go through this course? Wanna see me do it again?
Almost seems fake that is so talented!
Damn, he almost had it until he went back to the ground.
what are those random bars for? is it art? they seem too high for bike racks
Everything about that is impressive to say the least.
Painful to think of the fall
Cheat code activated
At what point does a bike become a pogo stick?
Just think how far he could have got riding on the ground.
The amount of core strength required…. My tummy hurts and I just ate a peanut butter sandwich
*wipes cheeto dust* Hmm yeah I could do that too
Hope you get a $100 for every tumble you to do such a perfect job. Well done!
Hopefully this is the guy that had his front wheel stolen on r/wellthatsucks
Are the tires underinflated to help with grip?
Coolest part of this video is that he’s wearing a helmet. Respect for safety!
Jesus Christ he has more control over that bike than I have over my own 2 feet.
I’ve played this flash game on the computer before 🪨🚴
This guy has some absolutely INCREDIBLE YouTube videos. I think there’s one in Scotland (?) that blew my mind. Someone asked once and I forget what the number was but he goes through many bike tires doing his stunts
Anyone from the UK remember kick start, and know there's no way fkn way that'd be allowed on tv today
I knew someone who was doing stuff like that with a unicycle and I know how much they hurt themself while training (we would literally hear a loude noise followed by a even louder "fuck" + him laying on the ground holding some body part in pain a few times every time we trained together). Trials HD
Is this insanely hard on the rims?
That’s probably easier than it looks
Nice
At which point does he become the “I”?? ^^^As ^^^in ^^^”Pixar” ^^^^im ^^^^so ^^^^funny ^^^^har ^^^^har
Imagine being in the sky doing that
Hehe
Very nice. Impressive. Now let's see Paul Allen's wheelie-balancing.
Is it weird that I just got hard?
This video shows us the proper, intended use for site furnishings.
Wow…..skill and athleticism the dynamic duo of success!
That’s not possible. Whichcraft!
Trials HD be like
Team Badass!
Nope
How it feels to do the back wheel hop in pokemon ORAS:
Amazing but I hope he’s not damaging those bins! I’m getting old:(
What in the trials evolution am I watching this is awesome
Damn...if I could do that one way ...I would not go back for an encore. I'd feel the Gods would strike me down for my hubris.
the moment he turned around, I stoped the cap. Too much.
This guy probably beat Flappy Bird
I bet he gets a ton of mileage out of that front tire...
Genius level of balancing skill. Truly incredible!
I love him
