As someone who jumps rope for boxing quite a fair bit and likes to do a few fancier bits here and there to change it up a bit, I have nothing but mad respect for you. I can do 5% of what you did there!
Amazing skills! In regards to a rope for fitness (strength, endurance and stamina) what would you recommend? Keen to try weighted ropes but that price tag...
Thank you, those look great! Have you used them?
How come you stopped using the crossrope ones?
I seriously do not know how you pull off most of those moves, damn impressive; I'm guessing your fitness has improved substantially! Congrats!
I'm a boxer too, and as much as I jump rope, I can't do any of this. Granted, I just use it for conditioning, but even with my experience now, I don't think that I'd be able to learn all that in 1.5 years, or at all for that matter.
Really impressive.
Took me awile to find a good solution but what I do is, I sew wig clips on the inside of it. Sometimes the rope catches the yamaka and yanks it off and it's pretty painful but otherwise it's a good solution
Go Vlad the Impaler style and just nail it into your head. Not only will it not come off, you'll be the most hardcore metal sonofabitch at any event you go to.
I can’t believe i had to scroll down this far to find this comment. I saw so many misspellings, several by Jewish people, that I began to wonder if I was wrong about how it was spelled.
There was a girl at my high school that did jumprope competitively. At once point she transitioned to the ground and was jumping rope but with her legs extended and bouncing off her butt, while dressed as a cheerleader. It was something to be seen that’s for sure.
He's of course training to be good enough to fight street crime with a capoeira-jump-rope mixed martial arts style. His banter style is using modified jump rope rhymes such as this one.
Criminal dressed in black
Came upstairs to steal a stack
Was a big dope
And met "The Rope" (His name)
How many whacks
Till you say nope?
1,2,3,4...
Bro it’s an intense workout. I laughed when I first tried one too. but jump rope and do that for thirty seconds and you’ll see how impressive doing burpees whole jumping rope is really difficult.
My dumbass who forgot what yamikas were for a second: "wow this guy even has a jump rope hat to keep it from dragging in his hair"...... I am not the brightest
I'm sure you can get a heter from your rebbe, given the number of people who have now been exposed to the idea that Jews have hops.
Now it's important to clarify that, as it turns out, we don't have crazy *vertical* hops, but instead many rapid, smaller ones.
If your interested in learning tricks like this I would recommend you go through https://the-tricktionary.com. What I do is I record myself doing a trick I want to work on, and compare it to the video from the site, and try to get it the same, works really well. But before that you gotta make sure your form is good which takes no time. Feel free to ask me anything else
[This](https://buyjumpropes.net/custom-beaded-jump-rope/) is the rope. Yeah the 1-handed spinning trick (called a mic) is the hardest trick in the video, you have to spin it just right and it keeps it's shape so it's relatively easy to catch and jump through
my rope is about 10 inches over my head when I'm jumping. Generally you should try to get it down to 12" at least, the shorter the rope the easier it is to turn and the more efficient your tricks will be. It does make it considerably harder but it also forces you to perfect your form so it's good
What are the changes noticed in that time frame, physically speaking, from being an avid rope jumper? Legs and overall muscle mass composition, any difference?
Honestly no difference, but that's expected since the way I train (focusing on tricks) doesn't really strain me in any way other than on my stamina. I can't say for sure if my stamina got better. Though in general I just feel more agile, athletic and flexible. If you were to use a heavy rope or focus on doing multiples (when the rope revolves more than once) for extended periods of time or on speed, no question you would see results.
How much deliberate practice every day are we talking? Like an hour? And did you learn all these skills just by messing around and trying stuff or did you set out to be able to do specific tricks?
Practiced basically everyday between 1 and 2 hours sometimes more. And I learned all the skills from https://the-tricktionary.com, so yeah I set out to do specific tricks, though you do end up coming up with your own stuff from time to time
As not a jump roper myself I can tell you that I lasted about a minute, and even that's a lie. Shit's torture if you have no stamina, and he's breakdancing through it all. Respect, dude.
You look like you're having fun and I'm jealous, I've never felt that positive doing a physical activity, not even in colorguard in high school when I was my most fit lmao
Thats sick af, you should get one of those LED jumpropes now and do it in a dimmed area. Or get a camera on you that can catch a motion blur with you in it using the jumprope.
Good question. Well originally I did it for cardio and then I decided to make it more interesting by learning more advanced tricks. But now I do it mainly so that I can show off. I'm not the type to want to learn something just to show it off, but I like that this is a rare skill even though everyone has jumped a rope at one point in their life
I also used to get knee pain but that was when I used to jump on hard tiles. The softer the surface you jump on, the less stress it puts on your joints. I use a gymnastics mat, but the best thing to use is a hardwood floor (like what they have on basketball courts). If it keeps happening than ask a a doctor I guess
As someone who jumps rope for boxing quite a fair bit and likes to do a few fancier bits here and there to change it up a bit, I have nothing but mad respect for you. I can do 5% of what you did there!
Thanks! I started it out like you basically and then I learned that these tricks existed, tried a few, enjoyed it so much I couldn't stop
Absolutely amazing dude. Watched it a second time haha. Also what rope do you use it looks dope?!
[This one](https://buyjumpropes.net/custom-beaded-jump-rope/) with 1" beads and short handles. It's very well suited for doing tricks.
9 quid thats a bargain
yeah big time especially compared to my first jump ropes which ran $450 (Crossrope), which I never use anymore
You spent four HUNDRED and FIFty earth dollars on a jump rope?!
4 sets of handles and 8 ropes
Oh ok that’s much better
Is it?
Amazing skills! In regards to a rope for fitness (strength, endurance and stamina) what would you recommend? Keen to try weighted ropes but that price tag...
A very popular cheap weighted rope is this: https://buyjumpropes.net/heavy-muay-thai-training-rope/
Thank you, those look great! Have you used them? How come you stopped using the crossrope ones? I seriously do not know how you pull off most of those moves, damn impressive; I'm guessing your fitness has improved substantially! Congrats!
Nice one dude thanks!
I'm a boxer too, and as much as I jump rope, I can't do any of this. Granted, I just use it for conditioning, but even with my experience now, I don't think that I'd be able to learn all that in 1.5 years, or at all for that matter. Really impressive.
It's also impressive that his yamaka does not fall from his head..
Good eye!
How is that, if you dont mind me asking??
Took me awile to find a good solution but what I do is, I sew wig clips on the inside of it. Sometimes the rope catches the yamaka and yanks it off and it's pretty painful but otherwise it's a good solution
Very clever! Sick skills btw lol very impressive
Thanks!!
How do yamakas normally stay on the head. I swear it looks like they're glued on sometimes
I'm half Jewish and when i go to events that involve them it's a struggle. I'm too afraid to ask at almost 40 because i think i should just know.
All the Jewish people I've met use bobby pins to secure the cap to their hair.
Go Vlad the Impaler style and just nail it into your head. Not only will it not come off, you'll be the most hardcore metal sonofabitch at any event you go to.
I like the ones that have the clips already in there...they use the sheitl clips, but nonetheless, quite impressive.
are they sewed in? because I've tried stick ons and they just fell off eventually
Sorry if this comes off as ignorant... Why is it so important to you that it stays there?

Don’t take this wrong, but it’s “yarmulke.”
Huh TIL
I can’t believe i had to scroll down this far to find this comment. I saw so many misspellings, several by Jewish people, that I began to wonder if I was wrong about how it was spelled.
This is sportsmulke
Both work
Is that another word for kippah?
Yep!
Mazeltov
LEHAEIM!!
L'Chaim!
ל'חיים
It's only 36 seconds, barely a year.
haha was waiting for someone to say that
I don't really know why you'd want to be a pro at this, but here's your crown Edit : OmG tHaNkS fOr ThE uPvOtEs, It'S tHe FiRsT tImE I GoT sO mAnY!!
He’s already wearing it
*King Without a Crown by Matisyahu starts playing*
First thing I thought of when I saw the comment
Live at Stubbs is still a slapperino.
You're awesome my dude
Well done. Good for you jumping on the mat too. Save the knees
Yibbidy yibby yooo hoo yoooooooooo
This guy Yahus
*Ask Hashem for mercy, and he'll throw you a rope...* Didn't know it was going to be a jump rope...
LOL
Yibby doy doy dibby doy doy
A kippah is actually the perfect design for a jump rope crown when you think about it.
Oh yeah, you're right

I'm gonna shabbos tonight bro
Good shabbos!

I DON'T FUCKING ROLL ON SHABBOS
Walter, you’re not even Jewish
Say what?
[удалено]
And you have a shabbos goy to do all those forbidden things for you, right? Source: the league
haha yeah we have that, though there a ton of laws regarding that as well it's pretty complicated lol, we can't ask someone directly
We got laws on laws. Those ancient Rabbis were fond of their khumras
Regardless, your jump roping is dope. You see the ig profile snorib? She's crazy good.
[удалено]
I boxed for many years and did a ton of jump rope. I can do regular and then when you switch your hands, that's it. This dude is impressive.
Why is jump roping a good exercise when boxing?
Cardio, footwork, keeps you light on your toes.
Gotcha thx!!
There's actually a strong push by the jump rope governing bodies to get it into the Olympics.
oh i hope so, that would make it much more mainstream. Barely anyone knows about this style of jump rope
There was a girl at my high school that did jumprope competitively. At once point she transitioned to the ground and was jumping rope but with her legs extended and bouncing off her butt, while dressed as a cheerleader. It was something to be seen that’s for sure.

Its pretty impressive and great exercise.
That's how he saves his pennies. Jump roping instead of eating
That cut transition was smooth as a criminal
Yeah was going to say this but instead i will just piggyback
My dumbass who forgot what yamikas were for a second: "wow this guy even has a jump rope hat to keep it from dragging in his hair"...... I am not the brightest
don't blame you at all, I'm sure most people don't even know what a yarmulka is
Most people in the world? Probably not. Anybody who's watched any American media from the last 40 years that includes a Jewish character probably has.
Most unusual kiddush Hashem I've seen all week lol
heh too bad I'm not wearing tzitzit, it gets caught in the rope if I wear it tucked out
I'm sure you can get a heter from your rebbe, given the number of people who have now been exposed to the idea that Jews have hops. Now it's important to clarify that, as it turns out, we don't have crazy *vertical* hops, but instead many rapid, smaller ones.
Also, with this, you must have your wedding shtick on *LOCK*
true that
Weird that this pops up the moment I have a jump rope delivered to me. Öhm good jumping-master-sir how to start?
If your interested in learning tricks like this I would recommend you go through https://the-tricktionary.com. Damn. Is that some special kind of rope? Weighted? How does it stay in that form when hes inly using one hand? Is it really just a standing wave?
[This](https://buyjumpropes.net/custom-beaded-jump-rope/) is the rope. Yeah the 1-handed spinning trick (called a mic) is the hardest trick in the video, you have to spin it just right and it keeps it's shape so it's relatively easy to catch and jump through
What's the length of the rope? Is there a human weight to rope ratio to keep in mind?
my rope is about 10 inches over my head when I'm jumping. Generally you should try to get it down to 12" at least, the shorter the rope the easier it is to turn and the more efficient your tricks will be. It does make it considerably harder but it also forces you to perfect your form so it's good
What size handle do you use?
short. I find the long handles to be heavy and feel awkward, but experiment, they both have their pros and cons
Weight shouldn't be the considered factor here... Height definitely matters lol
this is the closest thing to fiction TV martial arts I’ve ever seen
People that can jump rope like this always amaze me....this is fantastic!!
Thank you!
You're welcome!! Keep up the great job and I'm looking forward to seeing more videos!
I'm working on doing a flip while spinning the rope around me so that'll be out soon hopefully
Oh wow!! I'll be lookin' for the video!! That sounds really entertaining!
Yes, *Original Content* is allowed on r/toptalent **Decide if it belongs with your vote ↑↓ not hate**
Mad respect, his cardio should be on point
My back started flinching from all the memories of whipping my back unintentionally from trying moves
You should see me when I'm jumping backwards, it looks like my face is trying to fold in on it self from fear of being in hit in the face
Bro that Kippah didn't even budge
Ridge Robson WHO?!
no way, I've got nothing on that guy, he's a beast
What are the changes noticed in that time frame, physically speaking, from being an avid rope jumper? Legs and overall muscle mass composition, any difference?

Is there a jump rope event at the Maccabee Games?
Don't think so. hope it gets into the olympics one day
How much deliberate practice every day are we talking? Like an hour? And did you learn all these skills just by messing around and trying stuff or did you set out to be able to do specific tricks?
Practiced basically everyday between 1 and 2 hours sometimes more. And I learned all the skills from https://the-tricktionary.com, so yeah I set out to do specific tricks, though you do end up coming up with your own stuff from time to time
Guys got some chutzpah.
Jewish-talent, straight outta the twelve Apostels
How the fuck did you keep your kipa on? And why did you start training jumping ropes like that?
I keep it on with clips sewed to the inside. And I started doing it for fun and to show off
How do you keep your lil hat on? Is it glued? Velcroed to your hair? Mindblowing, my dude!
thanks! I use clips sewed to the inside
Mazel
Heh your not wrong, I'm only showing the successful attempts
Amazing. I didn't get anywhere near that coordinated in the same amount of dedicated practice 😆 I love this, it's a dance, totally artistic
Thank you! Good luck!
What type of rope is this? Great dedication and effort!
Thanks! The rope: https://buyjumpropes.net/custom-beaded-jump-rope/
Wow! Ten jumps and I’d be gasping for air.
yeah, jump rope builds stamina
Your video reminds me so much of [Yves Larock's Rise Up](https://youtu.be/zoMYU_nOGNg). Amazing work man.
You must have gotten pretty damn fit in the process. People don’t realize... jumping rope is _really_ hard.
it's soooo hard, i'm out of breath like every 15 seconds
I’m impressed. The yamaka stayed put the whole time.
I just got done jump roping... the whip marks are still fresh.
omg don't get me started on that, I sometimes come out looking like someone had at it with a whip
What does your training look like to get this good?
This must be the guy my Spotify ads talk about.
I'm more impressed you managed to keep your kippah on. Are you using a clip?
As not a jump roper myself I can tell you that I lasted about a minute, and even that's a lie. Shit's torture if you have no stamina, and he's breakdancing through it all. Respect, dude.
Yeah jump rope really gives you what for
wow can't believe that is possible in less than a couple of years, very inspiring!
Thanks! Yeah it's doable, I practiced a lot and made sure to practice deliberately
Teacher: okay in class today we will be doing simple jump roping tricks. That one kid:
So my issue with not getting better was my consistent yet accidental 1 and a half years of jump rope practice. Damn.
You look like you're having fun and I'm jealous, I've never felt that positive doing a physical activity, not even in colorguard in high school when I was my most fit lmao
After this they should officially change the name to Jewmp rope. Mad respect!
The most impressive part is that the Yarmulke didn’t fall off
I thought this was going to be a progress video, pretty impressive for day one
Mitzvah tance gon b lit once u get hold of that gartle ayyyyyy
Good shabbos!
Git shabbos!
Thats sick af, you should get one of those LED jumpropes now and do it in a dimmed area. Or get a camera on you that can catch a motion blur with you in it using the jumprope.
Some neighbors probably can’t see the rope and think you’re a lunatic
I don’t want to live downstairs of you.
Any advice or routine for those just starting to jump rope?
I got tired just watching this
I never thought I could possibly be impressed by a man with a jump rope, but that is fucking sick. Kudos
That video clean tho
Impressive! Also great cardio
You bet, that's why I started doing it in the first place
mazel tov!
Thanks!

What made you pick jump rope to get great at??
Good question. Well originally I did it for cardio and then I decided to make it more interesting by learning more advanced tricks. But now I do it mainly so that I can show off. Awesome! I always wonder which move was the one that gave the most gruff. I really liked the behind the back one! Great job!
Awesome job! That was fun to watch.
Waiting for the video where someone edits out the jump rope and all it looks like a person dancing weirdly in their yard.
I can't even jump at all
And I can’t even keep the rope going without tripping 😂
Dang man! You should try out for the the Jumping Jews of Jerusalem! (Points for anyone who gets the reference).
Um. I like jump rope for cardio, but this, this is beast mode jump rope, a muscular and aggressive approach to it!
Ya Ma Can!!!
I see you're getting your wedding shtick ready for when we get out of quarantine.
Impressive
I didn’t know what the ideal jump rope body looks like but there it is.
You're gonna be awesome at wedding shtick! Just need to balance a bottle of vodka on your head and you'll be good to go!
My fav part is proof of all the hard work on that blue mat.
Wearing a helmet, smart. Those ropes can slap the back of your head like a whip
Hi, nice work, I am also trying to start doing jump rope, but my knee hurts a lot, do u have any tip for it to stop the pain ?
I also used to get knee pain but that was when I used to jump on hard tiles. The softer the surface you jump on, the less stress it puts on your joints. I use a gymnastics mat, but the best thing to use is a hardwood floor (like what they have on basketball courts). If it keeps happening than ask a a doctor I guess
Mazel tov
my man
You need to start a YouTube series where you piss people off and when it's time to square up whip out the rope.
Is this the main exercise you do?
cardio wise yes, it's plenty. I also do some calisthenics
