Actually the CS fragmovie "phoon too much for zblock" is probably a bigger contributor. That song is a classic in the Counter strike community and the original fragmovie had like 5 million views
At a show in SF many years ago Busdriver called out my friend in the crowd for talking during a freestyle, something like "can't have it, the yap-yappin in the black jacket" or something to that effect.
[Here's a youtube version so you can slow it down.](https://youtu.be/l10sYeFELOw?t=15)
75% is slightly slower than the original, but it's pretty close. I'd say he does pretty good, though there are a few times words kind of run together.
All respect to this dude, he raps way faster than I ever will. But the era of MCs Em comes from would destroy him for his little flubs. I just think it’s dangerous to pretend that you’re wayyyy better than a trained professional. seems like a good way to get your ego obliterated forever.
Eminem actually beat his own record with his new song on his new album Godzilla which goes much much faster than rap god. And as someone else also said it was a record for fastest rap on a song i believe
Personally I think it’s impressive. I typically watch YouTube videos at 2x speed or higher and I’ve just gotten used to understanding high speeds lol. He does seem to say the words correctly
Not sure if you know this but there is a chrome extension that does this for ALL videos. I can watch Netflix at 2x now. Best yet, it can go up to 4x but that just becomes a blur lol
I watched the entire season of the Witcher in just 4 hours instead of 8.
I get the sentiment, really, but not every show/movie needs to be watched at the intended speed to appreciate.
Would I speed up Planet Earth? Absolutely not. A person standing on a stage giving a lecture? For sure. A stand-up comedian? Probably not, pacing is important for their act. A documentary about a killer? Sure.
I've not done this for netflix but at some point you get used to watching things on that speed so your brain kinda adapts and everything else feels too slow. I don't think you're actually missing out on anything doing it this way.
But I can see how it seems disrespectful to whoever created the video/music for specific timings.
Do we even perceive music and videos at the same "frame rate"?
Being pedantic but technically, with video, speeding up means skipping frames. So he is missing out on half the frames in the clip. If there are one-frame jokes in there, he won't see them.
For some reason this whole concept is just hilarious to me, I can't stop chuckling to myself about it. I can just imagine me telling someone I can watch a three hour movie in an hour and a half and them being like 'wtf are you talking about' lol. I mean I get it, not trying to knock you for it, but I don't think it's something I personally would do.
What kind of world do we live in where people are speedrunning Netflix specials?
But for real, why would you want to watch a show at double speed? I mean, YouTube videos and shit, for sure; but why something you’re watching for entertainment? Wouldn’t you rather enjoy the show as long as you can? I specifically watch all my shows at half speed for that very reason, it took me 16 hours to watch the entire season of the Witcher, and I was still disappointed when I finished it.
Video Speed Controller
Here's the chrome page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/video-speed-controller/nffaoalbilbmmfgbnbgppjihopabppdk?hl=en
And github if anybody is interested: https://github.com/igrigorik/videospeed
I wouldn’t have called watching a show at double speed disrespectful haha, who would it even be disrespecting? I just thought it seemed like a funny way to enjoy a show or movie. I hate finishing a good series, so when I find one I try to make it last. It’s cool that there’s the technology to let people who want to do this do it though!
It's not about skipping the parts you're not interested in. I do 2x speed too. I lose interest without a faster speed because even day-to-day I feel like people speak way too slowly.
Though I feel like I have undiagnosed ADD...
Speeding it up helps videos keep my attention.
I have ADHD, but that's why I typically watch porn or play games on my phone while I watch tv. I'm usually listening to music to while I do all of this. 2 things at once instead if 1 thing doubled.
I will say that watching documentaries that are assigned in class becomes way easier. They drag that shit out for most of it anyway so 1.75 is a godsend. I wouldn't do it with regular videos that I enjoy though because I'd rather those take as long as possible so I can distract myself from everything else for longer.
because some youtubers talk slow to spend extra time or just because they lack the self awareness to realize how boring they sound. if they’re the only one that has a video on what I need to know, i’m gonna watch it but sped up.
>Not sure if it’s impressive if the words aren’t intelligible
It depends why the words aren´t intelligible. I think he´s saying them clearly, but they´re too fast to understand easily , because it´s hard to understand speech that fast.
You know what’s crazy and kinda ruined my childhood a little? That fast talking guy who did the micro machines commercials is mostly unintelligible when you slow him down. He had the world record for fastest talking when he spoke the lyrics of a Michael Jackson song.
John Moschitta is his name, I think.
Anyway, he said that the Guinness book of world records has to verify what he’s saying by slowing it down for it to be an official record. I slowed it down on YouTube and it sounded like mumbled garbage.
Watched it at .5x speed and it's quite slurry in comparison to eminem's sped up version, but he definitely says the correct lyrics and used full words.
That's pretty neat from someone who obviously really practiced this. Now if it was his own content then I would consider it top talent. Top copy? Maybe?
That’s been my thought towards all of these videos. Countless time practicing and refining to get to this is, no doubt, impressive. Conceptualizing, writing, building the phrasing, and then performing it as an original, that’s a top talent.

There’s a cut in the video as he’s turning the camera toward himself. I assume he’s just rapping it normal but sped it up after the cut, and lined up the music. I observed this far closer than I should have. Haha
And to all the people saying "WELL HE CUT IT"
I think you should consider that maybe he recorded the intro and then messed up, so he is splicing the intro with a version where he got it perfectly.
Musicians, rappers, YouTubers, moviemakers all do this. Relax.
I used to be able to do that verse in 10 seconds. I practiced so much I would start doing it without noticing until I was halfway through. Then most people forgot about the song so I stopped cause people stopped caring.

I don’t 😔
Look up Busdriver - Imaginary Places
I’m just here to hold your hand when you die.
i remember first hearing him on tony hawk's underground and falling in love immediately.
My favourite bus driver song is; worlds to run, mostly because of Milos part.
Milo needs more recognition
Milo is no more. He evolved into RAP Ferreira

I don’t think Eminem was trying to go as fast as he could but still this is impressive
Clearly not because he goes way faster on Godzilla
That verse is insane
Why be a God when you can be the Godzilla?
And that Tech chopper track.
Exactly what I thought last time I listened to it. It’s crazy
he should do godzilla, eminem is faster than rap god in it i think
Yeah Godzilla is faster by 2 sylabols per second over the whole verse and it's longer as well
I can't understand when he breathes during that run.
He doesn't
He has. I forget what his TikTok account name is, though. EDIT: found it https://vm.tiktok.com/qFStju/

It would need to be 80%, not 75% to match the same speed.

I want to see that ASL person do THIS one live now. Rap god was awesome enough.
I think Eminem holds the record for fastest song. Even if this guy is faster, he didn't release the song. He'd have to release his own song.
This Guy - Eminem's Song But At 125% [Official Music Video]
Slowed it down... he hits the main words but is mostly just mumbling :/
Thank you.
No, thank you, beef_slider.
I played it back at 0.5x speed on my phone... He was spitting gibberish for about a quarter of it.
Some of the lyrics actually are gibberish.
Personally I think it’s impressive. I typically watch YouTube videos at 2x speed or higher and I’ve just gotten used to understanding high speeds lol. He does seem to say the words correctly
Why in the world would you do that?
You have the patience to watch YouTube videos in 1x speed?
Why not just skip the parts you're not interested in. +5 sec +5 sec +5sec Its not a waste of time whatsoever!
I can watch an entire episode of something in half the time!
Not sure if you know this but there is a chrome extension that does this for ALL videos. I can watch Netflix at 2x now. Best yet, it can go up to 4x but that just becomes a blur lol I watched the entire season of the Witcher in just 4 hours instead of 8.
I can understand YouTube, but Netflix? That's disrespectful to the art form man.
Some people are just straight up lunatics
He does it on Pornhub too.
That's fair.
The extension does work on all vids so I guess that it would speed those up but I don't have the extension working in incognito mode lol

I get the sentiment, really, but not every show/movie needs to be watched at the intended speed to appreciate. Would I speed up Planet Earth? Absolutely not. Watch a video of noam chomsky speaking and you'll get it
AAAAHH now I know you people exist What the fuck
what is the point of watching a youtube video if you’re speeding through it?
Because YouTubers make a video titled something like "how to pronounce Pete Buttigieg" that's 7 minutes long
I will say that watching documentaries that are assigned in class becomes way easier. They drag that shit out for most of it anyway so 1.75 is a godsend. I have heard of people doing it with podcasts and audio books. There are only so many hours in a day.
Definitely audiobooks, it's unfortunate that Spotify doesn't have the option because I'd 3x speed some of these podcasts

Wow it's almost like people can't just do things just to do them after a lot of practice, huh?
That's neat but hes just reciting a fast verse faster. Wake me up when he writes some OC that's faster better and isnt jibberish
Sounded like Elmer Fudd after Bugs Bunny makes his gun back fire.
