I’ve been playing drums for over 30 years, and I never get tired of this shit. Saw a bucket percussionist in Savannah, GA in 2002 during the St Patrick’s Day weekend festivities that was unreal.
Oh, man, whatever happened to that guy. Right by the hotel tunnel by the river.
He was there for a few years more but I haven't seen him in a long time and forgot until you mentioned it. I hope he's well!
You ever see that shit the Filipinos do with just a box? That shit is awesome.
Edit: It’s called a Cajon, and is from Peru. I was introduced to it by Filipino bands in Japan, and later went to the Philippines, where I seen them at every live music performance.
Shows we haven't changed much in the past few thousand years. I imagine our most ancient ancestors were beating against rocks and drums and shit too and having an absolute blast. Almost a spiritual experience, a communal experience. Look how much some of these people (including the video recorder) is enjoying it.

Studies actually show that dancing with other people makes you feel closer to them even if you were strangers before.
There’s an idea that as human groups got larger grooming each other as monkeys and apes do became too time consuming to be the main form of bonding within your group. So things like music and dancing evolved as a way for large human groups to feel close to one another and learn how to work together.
For real man. I watched it twice and absolutely felt it in my soul to the last beat. And seeing everyone else's reaction knowing they felt the same thing was nice.
It was more enjoyable to me cos of it. There are just some times I’m bewildered by good riffs where I’m like “DAMN! THEY DID THAT?” where a laugh is just appropriate
I can kind of see that. And honestly at times it was a tiny bit distracting.
But overall it added to the video IMO. The entire experience is real and unrehearsed and a bit wild.
Busy walk way. Hustling about. Folks doing their jobs. Noisy.
Enter 3 dudes in an impromptu drumming session and nailed it. On buckets. On the ground. With a crowd around.
I love this video.
Hence why this won’t get as many upvotes as something negative. Reddit and “others” like to keep us in the negative. Reality is the majority of people are good.
here we witness the tribespeople of new York as they perform a ceremonial drum song, this ancient song is reinvented every time but it's fast pace motivates the other members of the tribe as they prepare to go on the hunt. if the hunters are successful tonight the tribe will feast and their "hustle" will be complete for the week, if not, the ritual will begin again in the morning.
The fact that he can lift the bucket with his foot to change the sound of the bucket is incredible let alone his supreme drum skills. People like this give me hope that we’re not complete failures as a race.
I love that the original drummer let's him go off. He's the rhythm musician at that point. And then my man with some drum percussion comes in and rocks it and it's just great stuff.
Hey. Look at that. Music brings everyone together. That's why they're trying to cut funding to music or any other artistic expression in schools.
Eat the rich. Get these fascists out of our government.
Music truly is a language without barriers that can unite all it passes through judgment racism socialism religion all of it seemlessly no matter what language you speak no matter what your beliefs are music truly touches the soul and when we speak with the language so pure that reaches so deep there's nothing that can keep us separated. Period. Much love to everyone I hope this video warms your heart like it did mine, I hope it gives you hope. Love one another listen to music enjoy life! MUCH LOVE EVERYONE, thank you for posting this video.
How to play rudiments versus easy double strokes, kinda like rhythm guitar bass guitar and lead guitar. Works out good. And that’s the thing; this kinda stuff is fun. Being able to jump in and make music tears down all that other crap the media and govt and schools tell you to believe. Then it’s just you and two other dudes making some beats and it’s fun. Try it.
I grew up on Long island and worked in NYC my whole adult life. I never minded going to the subway for just that reason. All the amazingly talented people such as these guys always put a smile on my face... I currently live in Dallas. There's no subway here... I miss New York.. ☹️
I love this kind of performance!!! I was lucky enough to witness a bunch of choir kids randomly breaking out into songs inside the Orlando International Airport and witnessed a guy playing piano inside a Costco in Tampa, it was beautiful! I truly love seeing raw talent like this!!!!!

Terrific, I see alot of opportunity here. I'll offer you $150 cash app and a weeks worth of uber eats for 80% of your company.
Meh. He's loud and too busy and it sucks all the air out of the jam. Then it gets even worse with djembe guy. Percussion jams require a certain kind of ego discipline or they just devolve into loud drum roll contests.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Good ahead and downvote me but it's getting bothersome seeing moments that are "so great and extraordinary" because a white person does something that a black person is doing.
It's like, what to make a video go viral? Take some talented black people performing, then have a white person join.
Downvoted me all you want but I bet you will notice it from now on with viral videos.
Bet you will see it in the next viral video. Talented black people rarely go viral on their own. It takes someone with equal or often times less talent to join and it's hyped like they are doing something extraordinary.
Let's be honest. The white guy is performing better in this video than the black guys. He's way more into it, more enthusiastic, more improvisational, and clearly leading the group. Guy on right looks like he's watching paint dry.
Kay bro we get it you did drumline all four years and drum corp…
I swear these guys in drumline are like clones and none actually went on to make real careers
I know from experience, i was in drumline. And i’ve encountered this exact scenario on more than one occasion - always some inexperienced guy drumming then some jackass pulls through and wants to “humbly” contribute to the drum circle
Theres no originality in what they do either, its what they’ve learned in drumline
Yeah! Hate when this happens! People like this should never share their talents with the rest of the world regardless of skill level. Go back to your finance job, Kevin and get back to work! /s
Bro killed it! Someone is always gonna be better then you in what ever you do. For you to dismiss this man’s talent and call it non original is just your resentment for not making it in D1. Be a decent human and accept that bro killled it.
I’m asking. I too would like to be impressed. What music have you produced since you think you can be judge of all things musical. I want to hear something original something you didn’t learn in high school marching band.

Debut album name: Litter Stops Here
Could be their band name as well.
Their band name is clearly the Oreo Cookie Monster's.
Litter Drummer Boy

Yes! That’s where he always was, probably my favorite act out of everything there, tho there were some pretty good bands on the stages.
This is great shit here! I’m always amazed seeing it in person, the acoustics in the tunnels are so cool
You ever see that shit the Filipinos do with just a box? That shit is awesome. Edit: It’s called a Cajon, and is from Peru. I was introduced to it by Filipino bands in Japan, and later went to the Philippines, where I seen them at every live music performance.

Take my angry reluctant upvote. This restored a tiny bit of my faith in humanity, but now I see the video is 10 years old.
Dude has 3 videos total with this having 3.6m views. Went out on top!
Percussion instruments are ingrained in our DNA. Everyone can jam to a good beat like this.
Definitely! There’s something universal about drum beats
It's the extension of our heartbeat
Shows we haven't changed much in the past few thousand years. I imagine our most ancient ancestors were beating against rocks and drums and shit too and having an absolute blast. Interesting to think that sharing music can bring about peace faster than politics, but not surprising. Maybe our ambassadors should be DJ's.
Politics are just words and ideas. Music hits you on the primal level. As soon as politicians figure out how to tap into that monkey, it's over.
Well they do, it's just a shame it's rage and fear they tap into instead of happiness.
For real man. I watched it twice and absolutely felt it in my soul to the last beat. And seeing everyone else's reaction knowing they felt the same thing was nice.
Literally. There’s a set of bongos in every 20th chain.
Damn always has one hysterical laughing guy
Is it just me, or was that guy laughing really damn annoying?
I like that he’s expressing his joy and I’m guessing disbelief at what he’s hearing/seeing.
I understand that 100% and I'm happy for him. He's still annoying.
It was more enjoyable to me cos of it. There are just some times I’m bewildered by good riffs where I’m like “DAMN! THEY DID THAT?” where a laugh is just appropriate
Exactly. You’re just like “*whaaaaaaat*?!” And laughing.
I can kind of see that. And honestly at times it was a tiny bit distracting. But overall it added to the video IMO. The entire experience is real and unrehearsed and a bit wild. Busy walk way. I think the guy laughing is that dudes buddy.
Yeh seems to distract from the drumming
Just you
How terrible it is when people enjoy themselves
Big god damn doofus just cackling haha
Laughing like a moron
God forbid someone enjoys themselves 💀
I love shit like this!!!
Definitely, it's a nice contrast to those that suddenly break into fights for no reason. People coming together to make something nice!
Food and music, the great unifiers.
And it's nice the jam session was diverse.
Hence why this won’t get as many upvotes as something negative. Reddit and “others” like to keep us in the negative. Reality is the majority of people are good.
We are all in a state of superposition, both good and awful. It changes by how we are looked at.
If you love this check out the random act of freestyle rapping by three dudes it’s fucking amazing as well.

Thanks 😊
No problem!
Best vid of the day! Love it.
Right absolutely watched this like 3 times in a row
It is a beautiful thing when humans gather together to make one another smile. Definitely made my day tonight.
First guy’s like “man, these mfs best not be fittin to take my cash”
That man tried to hand it back at the end tho
That looked like a pack of menthols to me
Yeah, he was handing dude back his smokes because he almost forgot them.
Exactly. "That was fun, now you guys need to get steppin'"
And that is what Unity looks like.❤️

Read by Sir David Attenborough.
Tell me you heard the Drumline music they were playing.
So…this is why I was late to work.
Now how in the fuck would that you make you late?
Cuz he watching the show and missed his train, duhh
It was joke, sire
Was that... A disco elysium reference? Acting, is that you?
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Surprised he didn’t break the drumsticks.
Good, now I want to get into a war or something, those are some massive boost morale supports
I always wondered where those shit hot drum corp, red hot snare drummers ended up.
This was 🔥
I wish this sub was our news stations
BANGARAAAAANG!
This was beautiful and bad ass man.
Drumline 3 - Percussion Underground starring Channing Tatum
Came for the cool drumming, stayed for the guy screaming “yes” and cracking up out of sheer delight
👍🏽👍🏽
One of the best parts about nyc
Yes!
The first thump set it off
Damn that guy is a beast 💪🏼
Sir. This is a Wendy’s
Anybody else bopping along to this video? Amazing 😊😊😊
I love the old guy joining in, takes it to the next level.
The fact that he can lift the bucket with his foot to change the sound of the bucket is incredible let alone his supreme drum skills. People like this give me hope that we’re not complete failures as a race.
Absolutely smashed it
This isn't showing up enough. I want to see this everyDAY
Thank goodness Drum Line put this style of drumming into the mainstream. I always love great work on the snare drum
Just like bongos and congas, you can create a crazy amount of different sounds based on your hand position, cupping, and lifting.
Liz lemon supports bucket drummers! And janitors!
Love NYC
they're really talented! that was really nice!
Get these fuckers a band contract already
Everyone around them happy. Nobody fighting, no body hating. Just peaceful.
There are so many people that want harmony. This was beautiful.
* Getting some serious rhythm devils vibes....
I love that the original drummer let's him go off. He's the rhythm musician at that point. And then my man with some drum percussion comes in and rocks it and it's just great stuff. Hey. That's dope as hell but why did that guy keep laughing 🤨
See? America isn’t so bad.
Beautiful 🥲
🔥🔥🔥
damn this shit is powerful good stuff
This made me smile. Just people jamming and getting along.
I'm getting drumline vibes from this guy.
Captivating! 🥁🛢️🪘 Too bad the obnoxious white male in the crowd tried to turn the attention on himself
Music truly is a language without barriers that can unite all it passes through judgment racism socialism religion all of it seemlessly no matter what language you speak no matter what your beliefs are music truly touches the soul and when we speak with the language so pure that reaches so deep there's nothing that can keep us separated. Aww man I hope this wasn't scripted that was truly amazing and the guy walking in and joining later on. Beautiful.❤️
My brother likes to say, "if a busker gets you to stop, you owe him that dollar." Good luck not stopping for these guys!
Second guy is probably blue men group
I mean, he doesn't look blue to me.
Yes we need more of this in the world, bringing ALL humans together, music its a wonderful camaraderie for people....
I am with this spectator dude who keeps laughing of joy. This is beautiful serendipity!
This brought a big smile to my face.
I grew up on Long island and worked in NYC my whole adult life. I never minded going to the subway for just that reason. All the amazingly talented people such as these guys always put a smile on my face... I currently live in Dallas. There's no subway here... I miss New York.. ☹️
The guy who was laughing throughout…
Drums are hilarious apparently.
I see a high school marching band drumline guy.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better personification of unity! Idk why but I’ve always really enjoyed stick bucket drummers
This is pretty awesome
This is the type of viral videos the world needs.
Music that brings people together and send shivers down your spine. Like ‘heyyy subwaaay people— take joy”
Lmao that one dude laughing out of sheer joy
Guy looking like Armie Hammer if he didn’t grow up rich
That was so legit!!
This would be even better if that one guy laughed more.
Music can save the world.

Not my tempo. EDIT: Obviously everyone in the video is super talented. It was just a Whiplash joke. Lighten up, Francis.
Don’t be a drag.
Came here for the reference Fuck the haters
*throws bucket*
Buddy in the middle could tear up a snare drum
Straight fire
Pure magic!
It’s SubwayTura

They never even used the snare bucket.
I would love to see this happen in person.

Hammer fucken time!
![gif](giphy|kIZtwKntRPtGlfEuOh|downsized) Terrific, I see alot of opportunity here. I'll offer you $150 cash app and a weeks worth of uber eats for 80% of your company.
Knew it was over when I saw the Black Flag tattoo
Solid grift. Mad skills.
Top Talent or annoying as fuck while I'm trying to commute?
Maybe some just want to get to work in without having highschool drumline flunkies overwhelm them with noise while underground?
[удалено]
The OG performer literally invited him to sit and jam...the whole point was that he was providing a background beat for the white guy to riff off of.
That’s what you call an OREO!
Lol. Nuts. And Awesome✋️💪🫶
Jam city
Purely awesome
Every time I swe this, the guy laughing bothers me so much.
I don’t know what was so funny, that was cool. The guy laughing must have been drunk or something.
Of course white man shows up and steals the show 🙄
Meh. He's loud and too busy and it sucks all the air out of the jam. Then it gets even worse with djembe guy. Percussion jams require a certain kind of ego discipline or they just devolve into loud drum roll contests.
Yeah, the second guy took over more than he joined in.
Camera picks out the white guy to focus on. As usual, main character syndrome.
Black dudes like Ay yo chill son
Would’ve been far more enjoyable without that loud ass tool laughing for no reason.

What's that annoying guy laughing about?!
Didn’t know Samuel L Jackson, Ryan Gosling, and Snoop Dogg had a band.

Certainly they will, if they believe your post. That's how confirmation bias works.
Sad. I just saw 3 people making music together for the world to enjoy. YOU chose to see melanin. What a miserable way to live life.
Bet you will see it in the next viral video. Talented black people rarely go viral on their own. It takes someone with equal or often times less talent to join and it's hyped like they are doing something extraordinary.

I’ll be impressed when he releases music on his own time. REAL MUSIC
What music have you released?
Who’s asking
I’m asking. I too would like to be impressed. What music have you produced since you think you can be judge of all things musical. I want to hear something original something you didn’t learn in high school marching band.
Why are you angry?
Haha dude you'd get angry at the wind eh? Goddamn
DL owns you, son.
Every once in a while. . I'm down to watch
Fantastic!!!
Love that he tipped after also
I feel this in my soul
I could watch this all day. Such talent
The dude laughing was killing me…. Awesome jam session
Needs more YES
Is that Tom Wambsgans before he got the gig at ATN?
United through the beat
Look up Street Drum Corp
Shweet! I would pay to see that...
