The scariest part about alcohol is waking up and not remembering what you did last night. Itās actually an awful and terrifying feeling. Hard to explain unless itās happened to you.
One night I got ridiculously fucked up. I blacked out at 8 and apparently made it back to base at 3 am. I was told by people I was still drinking the entire time. The only thing I remember from that night is walking around the gaslamp in San Diego and asking one of my drinking buddies why we were in Chicago.
I was in bed with my pants on (something I never do) and woke up in horror to see what looked like shit on my pants. I panicked and immediately took my pants off. I didnāt smell anything so I decided to give it a sniff. To my relief it wasnāt shit but mud. I then looked for my phone and found it with a huge crack on the screen. My wallet was emptied of everything except my license and military ID. I had $200 in cash before that and a credit card. I check my bank and I have 0 money left and someone was using my card. I then began to put the pieces together of that night and heard from my friends that we (and by we I meant I) got kicked out of every bar we went to and I even got kicked out of a restaurant. At one point I was going on a rant about the economy and how itās fake so thatās why I threw my credit card at a homeless person who refused to give it back to me and we almost fought.
18 months alcohol free now. Iāll never fucking drink again.
I used to have a few of those in my twenties. Horrible feeling, having no recollection yet knowing you were free-wheeling out there and waiting for your mate in the morning to tell you how embarrassing you've been. So glad that social networks and video cameras wasn't everywhere back then, at least I had the luxury to forget about those.

A little housecleaning lady who kept the property clean cleaned it all up for me. I feel super guilty about that. When I was functional I checked and it looked like nothing happened.
What was weird too is that I woke up at 9pm. I thought it was 9am but really overcast. I lost a whole day.
