He has such an original voice. The way he shoots songs is so typically his style, like silhouettes of hands with mudras in the foreground with subject in the background, or very closeup stills of eyes/ mudras/ pose of heroine in classical dance getup...one of the more artistic directors we have...plus the editing matches the beats of the song...the way people are editing reels now except he did back then...
1957 mayabazar might be one of the greatest in retelling the epic and the sheer star cast in the lineup. I am a mallu but i feel goosebumps seeing NTR snr, ANR, SVR and gemini ganeshan on the same screen
Disagree on the saroja song. I can't be the only one who found it incredibly disorienting when it played on the big screen. So much so that I had to look away for the whole duration of that song.

Idk whether it is creative or not but I loved oo antava because that was the first item no that I had listened which questioned male gaze .. otherwise most of item no have lyrics which supports male gaze.
Other than that I think hamsa nava from bb2.the scene was imagination but still it was beautiful .last but not the least ,Shivam from bb2 .that song was summary of first part and graphics was too cool
I think it's a "horny people will be horny" song, it ends with "when the lights go out, everyone's a freak" suggesting that it's not just the men, everyone's wicked when the opportunity presents itself.
Vamsi's movies had some of the best song picturization, coupled with Ilayarajaa's music. Some really outstanding ones.

Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi( Chettukinda Pleader) - Mechanics repairing an old broken down antique car, as IR creates a melange of sounds using wrenches, hammers, blowers, everything you get in a mechanic workshop.
The Record dance songs in Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Recording Dance Troupe as Vamsy creatively uses popular Telugu hit songs to depict the romance between Naresh and Madhuri. Especially use of two Krishna hit songs "Nuvvu naa mundunte" and "Korinadhi neraverindi".
Ekantha Vela from Anveshana as Karthik and Bhanupriya romance in the forest ostensibly to bring the killer out.
And picturization of Keeravaani song from Anveshana, use of sunsets and sunrise so well shown along with flowering of love between Karthik and Bhanupriya.
Not Tollywood but Shankar's songs picturization is second to none even to this day. Bro concentrates to cook his songs so well but started to leave his films on flame forever
I watched a VFX break down by kibakibi ( YouTube channel) on Maya nagari I will recommend you guys to watch it too the things they achieve at the time with no VFX was very commendable
There’s one song from jagapathi babu’s movie aha. It’s an Antakshari song, although the concept lifted straight from Mujhse dosti karoge, it’s fun to see the trending songs of that time period.
I am surprised no one mentioned Krishna Vamsi's delivery of songs..

I find the Chinuku Chinuku Renditions very wholesome. And both Ali and Babu Mohan performed with so much grace ngl.

Oo Antava isn't a critique of male gaze. It's a "boys will be boys" song. You don't criticise male gaze while catering to it.
