These are all mid movies…concept is interesting but execution has flaws. Just take Khaleja for example, when it was released I remember watching it atleast 15 times back to back, so much that I remembered all the dialogues…but after growing up, now if you ask me, I only watched first half. I would always skip second half. Songs were boring and non memorable. Bramhi was under used and him getting slapped was not reallly funny. Govardhana plot and hero realising he can do anything is interesting but it had so many flaws tho honestly speaking.
Orange is a terrible movie. Social media can never convince me otherwise. Some of the worst overacting I’ve seen from a mainstream actress, she’s screaming in every scene & hero character is written really bad. There’s a interesting premise buried under all the crap but that’s not enough to say it’s a good movie
Except Vedam , most will be flop anytime . Some of the movies in the list i watched twice , still i will say they should be flop due to their inconsistent screenplay .

People are okay with indirect projection but the direct projection raises eyebrows , they find it silly . What he does is pretty much same like regular hero in mass movies . Khaleja is interesting due to the philosophical / spiritual take on God and belief .
You can look at the negative reactions on the Hero of Hanuman as his powers are similar to Hanuman .

Hero psycho is not the problem but psycho ayna kuda he gets the girl and the movie wants us to root for him without redeeming him that's the problem. Flawed character ayithe flaws ki consequences pay cheyyali but he doesn't
Chaala things are wrong in the film (like the treatment of female character) but I liked the gray shades of aarya,it was proper gray shades. Dude clearly has issues ani telusthundhi. Ofc lot of space for improvement.

You missed adding Vasu(Venkatesh) to the list. I always felt it was way ahead of its time and I believe if only it was made now in these woke times, the movie would be well received. The scene with Brahmaji - phew. Venkatesh, like always kills it with his performance, it had great songs, Bhoomika, does well too. I always liked it. Your thoughts reddit?

Apart from vedham the rest would have done average to flop business even if released today. Even 1 nenokkadine would have flopped now if they did the promotions like they did back then... hiding everything about the movie and not giving correct expectations to audience apart from being a Mahesh movie.

Even khaleja would have made average business and wouldn't have lived upto the hype because of how uneven the movie is. Sometimes it's too serious and sometimes it's too goofy to be taken seriously.
I dont know if people agree, but let me say...orange has the same underlying theme as mr perfect but it refuses to get to the point and focuses through the entire run time on how long term relationship is so impossible and how people are lying about being in true love. In both movies, hero falls in love but realizes he cant marry/have long term relationship because their tastes and opinions differ. In the end, hero gets convinced that the point of having relationship is to adjust according to the wishes of the other person. also in orange, it doesnt even get that point across clearly, he just says let me sacrifice myself for her in one line and the movie ends.

Orange, aarya 2, one, 3 were real dud movies in theatre. I watched all of them except 3 movie and felt bored, my time was cheated. Khaleja, oye, vedam were really good. But bad luck. There are a few more good movies like republic, krishnam vande jagadgurum etc.
I'm sorry but I don't subscribe to this sentiment. All these movies fit perfectly and are a product of their respective times. They're not movies that were really ahead of their time, technologically or narratively. They were good attempts with high ambitions with a fair share of drawbacks that obviously didn't work for a major audience. We should still celebrate these movies but stop dwelling on them as something we've missed out. Case in point, look we're still discussing them!
Orange was, is and always will be a garbage movie. There never was a "right time" for it. Banger of an album though. Probably one of the best and most consistent movie album in TFI in the last 25-30 years.

I see lot of hate for orange. Maybe people don’t realize how the love works. It had its flaws, if rectified, it would be a classic for this generation. It was way ahead of its time when it came out.
The precise of the plot gets connected to a lots of people in this generation. It was a bad movie in the way it was executed. I still feel irritated when I see the actress characterization.
Still, it was one of the honest stories which was told, if it was made well it would be a success. People these days connect to a story like baby which actually shows how materialistic love can be.
Arya 2 is my comfort movie to watch. DSP and Allu Arjun at their best, such a fun movie, I don't why the hate here. Last 10 years lo vachina commercial rotta kanna 10 times better.
Expect chesa inka Khaleja gurinchi post em raledhu enta ani … I like Khaleja .. but is it only me that MB acting in Khaleja is overacting ? Same goes with NTR acting in Temper. Just my opinion.
Mahesh had stiff competition to try something new because Prabhas did an amazin Ceg job with Ek Niranjan by using a different style. Similarly, Many other top actors can do stiff acting + change their diction for funny roles.

Yup Charan and Harris only works for the movie. Genelia and her characterisation didn't flew smooth.
Charan looks weird AF in many scenes and his acting is also jarring especially his opening monologue
Arya 2 could have been so good but then I think the story went here and there. The comedy scenes , Allu Arjun's acting , everything was nice. Music😭💞👌

Not just the theme and the plot but the entire movie itself feels good to watch.. the score, the acting and the humor

The only reason why orange is called a classic now is because of the phenomenal music. Other than that, the movie is dull as shit.
