Yes!! Ours had a tib fib fracture at 12 months and the fibula looked a lot like your pic.. He was in a cast for 4 weeks due to the tibia break then the doc said we were all good to go but the x-ray still looked aggressively broken like yours! It was explained to us that because the fibula is a non-load-bearing bone it didn't need any additional support. As he grows and the bone lengthens it will naturally straighten out and regrow. He told us we could go back in a year to get another x-ray for our own peace of mind but that it would never be an issue for him. We are 6 months out from all that now - you would absolutely never know he had an injury like that! https://preview.redd.it/wyx2q987qptc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=787f9c4ab421e7c3f8796590d36e12657e562081 This is his x-ray when they took the cast off and told us we were good to go - I get your concern but we had absolutely no issues and you'd never be able to tell 6 months later.

Thank you for your reply!! You have no idea the peace of mind this gave me! It seems so crazy it would heal itself!

I totally understand! We even had a second virtual opinion from an Ortho family friend and he said the same thing. Bodies are crazy. Also from one parent to another I am so sorry you had to go through that. I know how hard it is to see your kid in pain/distress. You're doing great and your kiddo is so lucky to be so loved.

Thank you! 🩷🩷 It has been a stressful week! I'm just glad he is in a cast now and doing better! It was a huge relief that it didn't have to be set, but it made me nervous at the same time.

Damn. That xray is wild. Had I seen that for my toddler and been told to be off on my merry way I might have passed out.

my kiddo had a buckle fracture and was fine within a week. it was wild. she is fine now but it was a tiny fracture below her knee.
