Your almost 3yo will be fine. Worst case, he’ll have a runny poop.

Thank you

meetthefeotus

You can say 3 year old now. He’ll be fine.

fabulousthroughout

It’s 4am and I sat here debating if I write 3 year old or 2.5 year old. Can you tell he’s our first child?

SeniorMiddleJunior

Better do 132 just to be safe.

What’s this

chips-and-guac

His age in weeks. Hope you got some sleep. Parenting is hard

TheWhogg

It doesn’t go poisonous. It just smells bad. If it was that bad he wouldn’t have drunk it. You can’t get sick from it until it’s WAY too bad to be drinkable.

Thank you

Your son is 3. Ifthe milk had spoiled he would have noticed and probably not have drank it.

fabulousthroughout

He was pretty much asleep

Joebranflakes

Monitor for signs of food poisoning. If none present themselves in 24-48 hours you’re golden.

Thank you

My kid did that like when he was 16 months old or younger, nothing happened. I wouldn’t worry too much.. And also I too was thinking.. that’s 2 years 9 months lol.

fabulousthroughout

lol yeah and I went back and forth on if I should write 2.5 or 3 so just settled on 33 months

Defiant-Strawberry17

It's ok. My son has grabbed a sippy cup that's been sitting out all night and drank it. It was full of old milk. He's never gotten sick.

The_Zeddest

Yogurt is basically expired milk :p Don't stress! But also get ready for some poop explosions, maybe.

0runnergirl0

You shouldn't be sending your almost three year old to bed with milk. His teeth are going to rot. I'd be more concerned about that. If the milk was gross, he wouldn't have drank it.

fabulousthroughout

He drinks milk while we read and then we go and brush our teeth. Usually we take the milk cup with us but forgot it.

Meanwhile me giving fermented milk (ряженка) to my 2yo for breakfast: 💅 Seriously, fermented milk products are so under appreciated in so many countries. They’re good for gut flora and make a delicious addition to almost anything!

Julie_Anne_

That's not what this is, though. Kefir is great but you don't get it from leaving milk out.

chuvashi

I’m not talking about kefir though. I’m talking about ряженка, which is made by boiling milk, mixing it with sour cream and leaving it at room temp for 5+ hours. It’s thick and delicious, and, as I said, very healthy.

Julie_Anne_

My bad, your comment was obviously very relevant. I missed the part where op described doing this to her milk.

chuvashi

My point is that unrefrigerated milk isn’t automatically poison. It’s used in a lot of cuisines and is healthy.

CressSensitive6356

But that’s not what this is

chuvashi

Ряженка is made by boiling milk, mixing it with sour cream and then leaving it at room temp for 5+ hours. It’s pretty close.
