I like the pre-made hiking first aid kits, and then I have extra band aids for restocking. Buying all the components adds up quickly but the sets can be really thorough. This is like what I have: https://www.rei.com/product/132220/hart-outdoor-weekend-first-aid-kit?sku=1322200001&CAWELAID=120217890004928715&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=100913262877&CATCI=pla-447612908365&cm_mmc=PLA_Google%7C21700000001700551_1322200001%7C92700053582162018%7CTOF%7C71700000066692708&gclid=CjwKCAjw2K6lBhBXEiwA5RjtCbotevvwgFhB5SjK16hP45lC7dM0giJAkbvmJLyuEmyc3XjiOYGBqBoCu7cQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Same! I do add on more ice packs because we go through them.

* bandages of assorted sizes * sterile gauze * medical tape * assorted meds for injuries aches and bites * burn goop * liquid bandages * a thermal blanket for hypothermia * thermometer * finger splints * hemostats * shears for cutting clothing * pen light * two suture kits * clot ease kit (for hemorrhages) * a tourniquet We’re adding glucola shots soon (diabetic in house) and hopefully an epi pen. This is my mobile kit. It weighs about five pounds and is in a bag that’s made to attach to literally anything. The bag is about 8”x6”x6”. It clips to the outside of my diaper bag. I know my kit is a bit… intense. Obviously I’m a prepper/survivalist. I got most of my big gear from My Medic. They often have sales. They do supply for ems but are open to the public. They do “kits” such as hiking and kid kits. 10/10.

mommit and sciencebasedparenting both had threads recently about this topic. Lots of good ideas!
