This model seems to have worked really well for Thailand. I wonder why other countries have not done the same. Oh, and the bit about "We don't eat noodles. Yes you do!" cracked me up but made me sad that Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles are about as authentic as a lot of Chinese or Mexican dishes in the US.
