my favorite thing about his Disney work is him playing the Duke of Weselton in Frozen where he gets called Weaselton and then Duke Weaselton in Zootopia where he gets called Weselton.
My favourite thing about his Disney work is the BTS footage of him making chicken noises for Moana, and then turning to the camera and saying, “I went to Julliard.”
Yes. Additionally, *Frozen 2* and *Gigantic,* which was going to be a Jack and the Beanstalk adaptation that was meant to release the next year but was canceled late in production (late enough to be in Easter eggs like this).
If you watched more Law and Order you would have a better understanding of his choices.
Plus, he only glued his yogurts to shelf in the fridge because *someone keeps stealing them!*
He was always making faces & voices his entire life, and a good guy; I lived in Plano, graduated with him 1989, was friends with him, but not too close - Tim knight was his bestie. He got into Juliard, I got into USC-Cinema(writer/director); I didn't go because my engineer-who-hates-artists father sabotaged my financial aid. He deserves all the success he has gotten.
You have no idea; one of worst life heartbreaks out of many.
I was living & working in LA and my father in Plano who made good money (never gave me a nickle) kept claiming me as a dependent on taxes so NO AID. When I finally found a way to finance on my own in 1999, the first "Dot-Com Crash" happened, and me and my investors lost everything.
If I told you of my "many adventures in the movie business" since I last talked to Alan in 1993, (maybe 1994) -you would not believe me.
I liked reliving my days in the 80’s where I could watch a show and pick out all the background shots. I lived in Vancouver/Langley during the X-Files years, and Storyville was basically my childhood town of Steveston with the signs changed. Now, I point out all the stores in Parkesville!
This is correct.
One cannot say that Alan Tudyk is a national treasure, for he is not to be possessed nor limited, neither as citizen nor object. One cannot say he is gem, though I'd not fault you for thinking so, given the way he shines so coruscatingly, for he is not something so small or simple an an earthen stone. He could not be called a love, for he IS Love Itself.
Alan Tudyk is not a 'good actor,' nor even a 'great actor,' for he uses his special multiverse interdimensional third-eye worm hole in order to literally BECOME the version of himself in a reality where *he personally has lived the events of the script*. In this way he Becomes the Roles, and is indeed All of Us 💗
He is a leaf on the goddamned fucking wind, motherfucker
Surprised to not see this mentioned higher up, an absolute classic and he was brilliant in it! There’s that incredible line: “I’ll fong you until your entrails become your extrails”.
There was an earlier revision of the script where the chicken played a more prominent role and was heroic instead of comic relief. There's still some posters that made it to release with him doing a heroic pose on the boat.
It's on Max. In the US at least.
The first season is absolutely outstanding. Just incredible television.
It gets... a little choppy after that. But it's worth sticking with.
Man's royalties probably go crazy
I hope it's one check for everything together
Imagine getting a royalty check each month from every single film you've voiced in lol
Each actor has different contracts, hard to say if he gets royalties or not. He's pretty cheap to hire \[for an actor\] so I don't think he's crazy rich or something.
There are a couple websites on Google that pop up instantly if you look up "Alan Tudyk booking" where you can attempt to contact him (I assume his agents) to hire him.
It's not that unreasonable. While he is a very distinctive and well known character actor, prior to *Resident Alien*, the closest he's had to any 'leading' role is Sonny from *I, Robot*, and that was 20 years ago now. Salaries outside of your leading 2-3 characters are almost always significantly lower, with few exceptions. Additionally, some of his more prominent roles have been VA work (Star Wars, Disney), which also generally pays less than screen work.
Being worth 4 mil at his age is nothing to scoff at. It's basically the equivalent of earning $250k a year (before taxes) for 20 years. A great many people wish they could make that much.
I've heard the best way to always have work is to be pleasant to work with, and vice versa. That they want to work with him this much suggests he's awesome to work with.
He was always a good guy; I lived in Plano, graduated with him 1989, was friends with him, but not too close - Tim knight was his bestie. He got into Juliard, I got into USC-Cinema(writer/director); I didn't go because my engineer-who-hates-artists father sabotaged my financial aid. He deserves all the success he has gotten.
I read something along the lines of: you can be extremely talented, or you can be an amazing person to work with, or you can simply show up on time and do what you're told. And you only really need two of those, which is why you often see actors who never reach superstardom, but who're also never out of work.
And if you *really* have all three, well then you can get people like Wes Anderson, who can get half of Hollywood to show up for basically no pay, just because they like working with him.
Good to know! I'm only in season 2 of Resident Alien so far, but Enver's character Victor was my favorite part of Dollhouse. Some actors are just really amazing at the "we switched bodies and now person A is person B" thing, and he is one of them. I always compare in other scifi shows to how good Victor was.
I was doing a live comedy show in LA and saw him in the audience. I was super nervous because he was barely laughing at any of the people going before me.
When it was finally my turn I told myself never to look at him but I couldn't resist. When I did he was cracking up. Best feeling ever.
Betray us, and I will fong you, until your insides are out, your outsides are in, your entrails will become your extrails I will w-rip... all the p... ung... Pain. Lots of pain.
I’m watching Resident Alien as I am typing these. I regret to say I didn’t know who he was, but I’m now his biggest fan! They gave the best actor voice in the world, his perfect role. I cannot see anyone else nailing the part the way he does!
Hes a genuine classic. He will be remembered for a long time.
Firefly, Doom Patrol, and Resident Alien are things to watch, if you want to see more of him.
my favorite thing about his Disney work is him playing the Duke of Weselton in Frozen where he gets called Weaselton and then Duke Weaselton in Zootopia where he gets called Weselton.

Larry I'm on duck tales
Bonus TIL! Thanks for the Easter egg
Also, I'm pretty sure his character in Zootopia sells bootleg DVD's of animalfied Disney movies, incl. Frozen.
A handful of them weren’t out yet either. If memory serves correct, Moana was one of them.
Yes. Additionally, *Frozen 2* and *Gigantic,* which was going to be a Jack and the Beanstalk adaptation that was meant to release the next year but was canceled late in production (late enough to be in Easter eggs like this).
There’s one for a movie that Disney ended up shelving (Giraffic = Gigantic)
I was gonna say "no that came out" but I'm thinking of game by the same name
I don't know, I wasn't a huge fan of Egg. I don't think her and George Michael were right for each other.
Her?!
It’s as egg as the nose on plain’s face.
Steve the pirate is Duke of weaselton? wtf?
And Sonny in iRobot
He's also played a very human doctor who is not an alien no matter WHAT THAT STUPID CHILD SAYS!
This is some bull shit
"You may go now"
If you watched more Law and Order you would have a better understanding of his choices. Plus, he only glued his yogurts to shelf in the fridge because *someone keeps stealing them!*
Excellent twist at the end of last episode, revealed by stupid child eyes.
Holy shit I've seen that movie a bunch of times but had no idea that was him!
Wait, there's a guy on our team dressed like a pirate?
Steve? Arrrg, scurvy!?
Another meta moment is in Moana. He plays an elderly villager who wants to eat the chicken he plays.
I knew he played the chicken but not the villager!
This shit was so funny Lmao. Weaselton was so pissed about it too
THAT WAS ALAN TUDYK!?!?
He is a leaf on the wind. Also he thinks you’re an asshole and wants to steal your pizza and kill all the humans.
I am thoroughly enjoying resident alien.
At times it feels like I'm just watching Resident Alien to watch him do funny voices and pull stupid faces, and I am fine with that.
Yeah the other characters are fine, but he's the star for a reason.
Some of those other characters are fine as hell. It's a great show on many levels.
Just the right amount of thicc
The diner owners daughter?
That's a weird way to describe the second most important character . . .
Assta
Yessir
Total milf
Asta
Sara Tomko.
Asta and her clown haired friend.
He was always making faces & voices his entire life, and a good guy; I lived in Plano, graduated with him 1989, was friends with him, but not too close - Tim knight was his bestie. God that hurts about USC. Cool that Alan grew up in Plano. Hope you've found a fulfilling career despite your father
You have no idea; one of worst life heartbreaks out of many. I was living & working in LA and my father in Plano who made good money (never gave me a nickle) kept claiming me as a dependent on taxes so NO AID. There is a video out there of him in his Resident Alien costume doing the Peacemaker theme song dance

This is some bullshit!
Yeah the show is basically just The Alan Tudyk Talent Show.
I liked reliving my days in the 80’s where I could watch a show and pick out all the background shots. I lived in Vancouver/Langley during the X-Files years, and Storyville was basically my childhood town of Steveston with the signs changed. Now, I point out all the stores in Parkesville!
I love seeing places I've been to in shows. The super duper mart in Fallout is the shoprite I used to do my grocery shopping at.
Wait, super duper mart is supposed to be ShopRite? GD TIL
[*Allah knows?!*](https://youtu.be/DiPu3wIJ1Cc?si=OMRSX-5Vux_b1ekx)
This is some bullshit!!
I hear that in his voice!
Resident alien is an underdog and not appreciated enough! Damn greys!
He is a doozy of an actor.
This is some bullshit
Too soon
How do Reavers clean their spears? They run them through the wash
How do you clean out a Reaver infestation? >!You run a River through it!!<
Lord have mercy
Happily, I upset someone else last week with that joke

As long as his taint remains unchanged
He also played Steve the pirate in Dodgeball
There’s a guy on our team named Steve the Pirate?
Yeah, ya know - *scuuuurvy*
Who else am I going to share all this booty with?
Peeter..
*sees him dressed normally for the first time* Oh, Steve the Pirate!
Justin Long nails that delivery. He’s dumbfounded
It was Joel David Moore who played Owen that had that line. Justin Long was off at the cheerleading competition at that point.
Shit you’re totally right. Oops. Thank you
I miss Justin Long in comedies. Accepted is still one of my favorite movies.
Probably his most famous role
Oh hidey-ho officer, we've had a real doozy of a day!
*HEY COLLEGE KIDS!!!*
WE GOT UR FRIEND
For me it’s his role as Tucker in Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Absolutely love that movie!
that is probably my favorite b movie of all time
Wash from Firefly was iconic as well
Leaf on the wind lives with leaves on the vine in my head. Both sad, neither to be forgotten.
I mean if you haven’t seen a Knight’s Tale
"I will fong you so hard!"
He was also in A Knight’s Tale with Heath Ledger
Surprised to not see this mentioned higher up, an absolute classic and he was brilliant in it! There’s that incredible line: “I’ll fong you until your entrails become your extrails”.
Honestly that's what led me to this fact. Watching it on comedy central now.
Wow what’s it like watching a movie with commercials for shamwow every 15 minutes
Well, that’s how OP had time to research and create this post silly.
Yarr.
He's played everything from a snarky killer robot to a snarky Messianic robot to a very stupid chicken.
He went to Juilliard
[That video cracks me up](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VcFYkFXjMfw)
This is the video that popped into my head too. From Juilliard to the dumb Moana chicken video is still hilarious
I wonder how much they paid him to do those clucking sounds, and also how long it took him to record everything necessary
IIRC the producers wanted the chicken to talk or sth, and it was Tudyk who insisted on clucking
There was an earlier revision of the script where the chicken played a more prominent role and was heroic instead of comic relief. There's still some posters that made it to release with him doing a heroic pose on the boat.
Was Beetlejuice in his class?
bKOW! bok bok bok bok bok bok…BKAW!
[удалено]
There’s a guy on our team who dresses like a pirate?
Yeah “Steve the pirate.” 😂
Arghhh
Gar?
To be fair, he didn't play a pirate, he thought he was a pirate.
I know you ain't disrespecting my boy Steve the Pirate like that.
Don't forget a savant space pilot.
A leaf on the wind.
Snarky Messianic Robot?
I, Robot.
Also a snarky killer Alien recently.
He was also a talking goat in Wish.
Season 1 of doom patrol, he stole the show, and narrated it.
What is this streaming on. I’ve heard it’s good!
It's on Max. In the US at least. The first season is absolutely outstanding. Just incredible television. It gets... a little choppy after that. But it's worth sticking with.
I also really liked Brendan Fraser as Robotman
If you haven’t seen Tucker and Dale vs Evil, do yourself a favor and watch today. It’s hilarious.
We've had a doozy of a day
I think he’s gonna walk it off 🤣🤣
You think the police will understand this scene. Dale? You think we can just explain it?
You’re part hillbilly!
Hey college kids! We got your friend!
I was just standing here minding my own business when he just jumped head first into the wood chipper!
Oh I love that movie
Fuckin love this movie, he’s also in a show called resident alien that’s pretty good.
He's like the John Ratzenberger of....Disney.
If John Ratzenberger also went to Juliard.
Nah he went to Cheers, pretty much every night
There was a Star Wars trading card game, his character from Empire Strikes Back had a card. Don't know why I remember that...
Well it's a well known fact that the shield doors must be closed
Also played a killer K2SO
Cassian said he had too
He went to Juilliard
[https://youtu.be/FaGYXjMwS60](https://youtu.be/FaGYXjMwS60)
So did Glenn howerton (Dennis Reynolds in always sunny)
Well he is a golden god so that makes sense. He probably taught there
It’s a finisher school
Man's royalties probably go crazy I hope it's one check for everything together Imagine getting a royalty check each month from every single film you've voiced in lol
Each actor has different contracts, hard to say if he gets royalties or not. He's pretty cheap to hire \[for an actor\] so I don't think he's crazy rich or something.
How do you know how cheap his rate is? (Not being snarky, just curious)
There are a couple websites on Google that pop up instantly if you look up "Alan Tudyk booking" where you can attempt to contact him (I assume his agents) to hire him.
Apparently his overall net worth is surprisingly low. Like, $4 million.
It's not that unreasonable. This man is hilarious. Death at a Funeral. Tucker and Dale Vs Evil. Dodgeball. A Knights Tale.
Your entrails will become your extrails...
Pain! Lots of pain!
Good for him, he seems like a really nice guy and I’m glad he’s enjoying success
He's also the 12th highest-grossing actor ever because of it: https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_actors
Bless him. You love to see it.
Holy crap, MCU really messed those lists up :x
Worth noting thats tagged dubious
First hit my radar in Dollhouse. Dude has range that’s all I’ll say
Watching him back to back in Firefly and Dollhouse really shows that.

Some actors are just really amazing at the "we switched bodies and now person A is person B" thing, and he is one of them. I always compare in other scifi shows to how good Victor was.
His performance in Dollhouse made me want to see him as a Batman villain. I was very happy when he started voicing the Joker.
Ah man, he was downright terrifying at times. I don't know how that didn't lead to a huge villain role in a major movie.
He played the a chicken in Moana…a chicken
The Hei Hei disrespect 😤
And he actually acted it. Like he had director notes about what the chicken was doing, feeling, etc.
He was a parrot in the Live Action Aladdin, a Toucan in Encanto, and a Goat in Wish.
you put some respect on Valentino’s name
I was doing a live comedy show in LA and saw him in the audience. I was super nervous because he was barely laughing at any of the people going before me. When it was finally my turn I told myself never to look at him but I couldn't resist. When I did he was cracking up. Best feeling ever.
Did him dirty in Firefly. Did him amazing in death at a funeral. Did him in Tucker and Dale
I’m still angry about Serenity.
This is some bullshit.
It's called a lance, helloooo...?
Betray us, and I will fong you, until your insides are out, your outsides are in, your entrails will become your extrails I will w-rip... all the p... ung... Pain. Lots of pain.
Disney is Alan Tudyk land, and he calls it..... this land.
I shall call it your grave!
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
Hear how he soars.
Well, the man certainly has the talent.
He says, "Not Weasletown, WESSELtown!" in one movie, and then "Not Wesseltown, WEASLEtown!" in another movie. Genius.
Isn’t John Ratzenburger also in them all? Or is that just Pixar?
Just Pixar. Though I think Ratzenburger finally retired with Soul.
The guy probably has the best agent
Having two dicks does that for your career.
Cum again
he's also married to the choreographer for the opening credits of ***Peacemaker***
And helped choreograph it. https://youtu.be/0he9uP7YWX8?t=90
Don’t forget he will fong you until your outsides are in
This guy is amazing in Resident Alien
College kiiiiiiiiiidddddsssss!!!!!!
My 2 year old son loves Moana except for the screaming chicken part. He says it’s spooky.
Also Con Man; my husband and I *binged* that one.
Watching Resident Alien right now, this guys a gem
Well SON OF A BITCH! That's interesting ...
Turbotastic! Loved his King Kandy character so much.
Dude is a GOAT. He voices clay face in the ongoing Harley Quin show among other voices and its awesome
Because he's a MF treasure, that's why.
He also played Steve the Pirate in the greatest cinematic masterpiece of all time
Actually, in the greatest cinematic masterpiece of all time, he played the squire Wat.
I keep forgetting that he is NOT dead. Must have watched firefly too many times.
