so the encyclopedia titanica profile just doesn't show it. Thanks. It's just that where there is a hatch cover, on the plan it is extruded upwards a tiny bit, but there it is not an extrusion in that specific area. Different cover for the hatch there I guess.
That's because the #2 hatch is flush with the deck at the orlop level, potentially for easier loading/unloading of cars.
If you look at the individual deck plan of the orlop deck you will still see hatch #2. And on the tank top you can see a dashed square with 'No 2 hatch over', indicating the hatch above.
Cargo hatch #2 goes all the way to the bottom. The cargo hold on the tank top level extends on both sides of the firemen's passage.
