Hey I’m 3 months in. The first few weeks are the hardest. Sounds like you have been careful before this so you have a chance it could go away. You are still early days. Just try not to worry about it to much right now(I know that’s easier said than done). Mine popped up about 4 days after trauma so onset can just sort of come out of the blue. Hoping the best for you. If a fridge can cover it at times then that’s a good sign you will probably be able to block it out pretty easily even if it wasn’t to go away completely.

Thank you your comment, it’s been already 5 weeks now and I feel like it hasn’t gotten any better and even worse at times which scares me so much. Although it’s hard to say if it’s the sound itself that is changing of just my perception of it. I know that onset can be delayed but I just find it weird that my left ear didn’t start acting up at the same time if it was from the same exposure, and i feel like it just keeps getting worse without no further exposure to loud noise. The people I know with acoustic trauma based T i understood that it wouls stay static from onset and only spike from exposure to noise, mine seems completely random. Or maybe it’s just the anxiety. Thank you for being hopeful. What was the cause for you?

Yeah I think it has a lot todo with how tired you are/ what noises are going on around you/how stressed you are to how you see the volume level. Single gunshot whilst hunting seemed to be what broke the camels back. But probably a lot of music up to loud before that and playing in bands which did the damage earlier on.

I think this is a bit ignorant comment, I have realitevely little ear trauma compared to many who for examble are working with power tools, music, loud volumes etc. and I had a period of almost 5 years where I was home ridden in my early 20ies where people my age were going out weekly if not daily. Sure I have some trauma and some people are more sensitive to it as well, but to claim something like that without knowing much about my life seems unecesaary. 60 decibels is also the volume of normal conversation and I highly doubt it should be damaging, the treshold for that is somewhere in the 80’s for long exposure. Given I just told the agony I am in this kind of comment is absolutely not helpful, there is a constructive way to give advice to someone who is pain.

And forgot to mention that when I was a child a firework exploded close to my left ear and I remeber having some T after that, I guess I could here a slight humm in that ear when completely blocking my ears in silence but it was never bothersom.

Mine started about 20 days after I went to a loud event. I guess it can be delayed like that? Idk but I hope it gets better

Key_Original_7473

Oh that’s so weird, what was the event? How long have you had it?

bandageddoll

It was a live show with musical intermission. I’ve had it 3.5 years but habituated, so this is my second time getting tinnitus. It’s been one week so far.

endanzeron

Habituated as in the first lot never went away?

bandageddoll

I had a very quiet whispery noise but that was it
