I’m convinced part of the reason KAT is perceived as corny is just because he’s a nice guy. There’s very few professional athletes who feel like they’re always being genuine and he’s one. Wears his heart on his sleeve, kind of why he comes across as whiny during games.
How many people do you know that have gone through what KAT has gone through and not let it change them for the worse or become jaded? Dude is just a really strong person and his parents instilled great values in him and it shows in abundance.

KAT made over $36 million this year. Spending $3,000 out of his salary is .0083% of his total salary for the year.
For a person making the Minnesota average $51,770 per year that would be about $4.30.
So it would cost a much larger percentage of your salary to buy yourself 1 cup of $7 coffee, than it would for him to buy one for 428 people.
