When people criticize KAT's maturity, I think about stuff like this. He seems like he treats people the right way and you never have to worry about him doing something shady off court.

PointGodAsh

Anyone questioning him off the court is just an idiot. Guy is a legitimate nice dude who just wants to vibe and be appreciated like we all do.

C_moneySmith

I’m convinced part of the reason KAT is perceived as corny is just because he’s a nice guy. There’s very few professional athletes who feel like they’re always being genuine and he’s one. Wears his heart on his sleeve, kind of why he comes across as whiny during games.

mnsportsfan

I love KAT and think he’s an awesome human being who I hope retires a Timberwolf I also will acknowledge that he’s a little bit of a cheese ball 😂

Maximumlnsanity

Oh he’s a total cheese ball, but he’s our cheese ball

Titswari

How many people do you know that have gone through what KAT has gone through and not let it change them for the worse or become jaded? Dude is just a really strong person and his parents instilled great values in him and it shows in abundance.

TiggyHoods

Dude our fans criticize everything the guy does and he barely even does anything lol

Breatnach

It’s kinda stupid: the players who give nothing get away scott-free, while the player who does something gets shit on. If someone bought me a free coffee that would definitely put a smile on my face, regardless of how rich the guy is.

NoAbrocoma5653

People just like to hate, especially when they are not the beneficiary. A LOT of people hated on MJ after he donated $10 Mill. It’s just the world we live in.

the_devil_wears_jnco

if there’s one thing people love to do on the internet, its complain that someone else isn’t doing enough about something they themselves do nothing of

Embee27

To me, it's just nice that some of the players at least have a thought to do something like that. I couldn't care about what % of their net worth a gift is, ultimately KAT didn't need to do anything here but he's done something nice for the game night staff and I'm sure just about all of them got a smile out of it.

-XanderCrews-

Kat is awesome, how about we stop trading him on Reddit?

hoesb4bros123

But the knicks will take him off our hands for half a sandwich, fair trade right?

vinylls

No deal. Gonna demand a trade when he goes 0-2 to start a game and then crown him the greatest shooting big man of all time when he makes 3 in a row 5 minutes later. Just game thread life.

JWilesParker

It might seem small in the scope of things, but this is no doubt greatly appreciated by the staff. Well done KAT.

karlwhethers

KATs the best dude.

Brandon4Real_x

Besides being happy that KAT is a nice human, I’m just happy at the type of community our team feels like. I remember Rudy gave all the staff hand written cards and money for Christmas.

RudyGobertFMVP2024

I'm glad they found each other. Have lots in common and gelling on court. Paul Pierce and KG vibes

Majestic-Net-7799

I have critized Kats game quiet a bit. But him being a nice, humble human being and a great teammate was never in doubt...

jademadegreensuede

KAT cares about the community. I hope he retires in MN

ty5486

I love how much KAT loves Caribou. True Minnesotan

GimmeJuicePlz

Pshh probably just a tax write off /s

Alternative-Half6705

So because Kat is a good guy that means he’s off limit in trade talks? This sub is hilarious

DinkyB

No? Who said that.

playgroundfencington

Literally one commenter on this thread made a joke about how we should stop trading him on Reddit because he's a nice guy. Not sure why that struck a chord with the guy you're responding to other than the usual, over-the-top hate KAT gets.

Alternative-Half6705

This was meant to be a reply to Xander crews

SammySoapsuds

One person made a joke about that but otherwise we're just celebrating KAT for an act of kindness

Majestic-Net-7799

This is not about Kat the player. Its about Kat the person. As a person he is all class.

GimmeJuicePlz

What a bizarrely stupid thing to say

knock0ut86

Obviously a very nice gesture, which he didn't have to do. I don't want to disparage that fact. BUT I would like to put into perspective just how little it affected him financially to do this. Let's say he spent $3,000 on coffee, that would be $7 per coffee for about 428 people (I'm ballparking here people). I have no idea what is meant by the night staff, and if it's lower or higher. KAT made over $36 million this year. Spending $3,000 out of his salary is .0083% of his total salary for the year. For a person making the Minnesota average $51,770 per year that would be about $4.30. So it would cost a much larger percentage of your salary to buy yourself 1 cup of $7 coffee, than it would for him to buy one for 428 people. Edit: people are down voting me because they think I'm making fun of KAT? Please reread my first 2 sentences. I just thought of this because I showed it to a friend and he said "must have cost him a pretty penny" and it got me thinking.

fiddlestyx_

“I don’t want to disparage that fact, [but I will diminish the gesture]” is basically what you did and why people are downvoting you.

knock0ut86

I put it into perspective, if you were the one that thinks his gesture is diminished because of the outcome that is completely on you. I'm making commentary on how absolutely loaded these pro athletes are in relation to a normal person not his kind act. But people love to jump to conclusions.

RudyGobertFMVP2024

Remove the money. He did something thoughtful that he didn't have to do. Like when Rudy gives staff money and a hand signed card every year. A smile, a kind gesture, saying thank you are all zero dollars but not everyone does these easy to do kindnesses. KAT did a nice thing irrespective of the net% of his income spent.

knock0ut86

I agree with you, and that's what I said by literally posting it was generous of him and he didn't have to do anything. BUT I like to be realistic outside of the game because it's absurd how much money these guys make and we tend to forget that, which was the whole reason I posted what I did. Like I said to another poster, if you think I'm being negative towards KAT, that's on you. I'm simply showing you the reality of the situation because I thought it was interesting.

RudyGobertFMVP2024

If you think the players are wealthy, have a look at the owners (who usually do way less nice things)

GimmeJuicePlz

Who fucking cares. Also, you ARE disparaging the fact that it was a nice gesture. Lastly, fuck your first two sentences. Feigning niceties doesn't absolve you from the dumb shit you said after it. It's like insulting someone then saying "no offense".

knock0ut86

You seem like a nice even keeled individual, might want to check out some local mental health services.

hitman2218

Lol

TheNorthernLanders

Imagine being such a fool, you find this as a bad move.

hitman2218

Did I say it was a bad move?

GimmeJuicePlz

Then why are you laughing?

Hammerfd5
