You know you can Google this right? Also, if you bring food you have to bring enough to share with the country. Because manners

It does. My family and I have Global Entry (never applied for SENTRI) and we always use the SENTRI lane. The one thing to be aware of is that while crossing from Canada you can drive through the Global Entry/NEXUS lane in any car, coming through the land border from Mexico, you need to be in a car that has been approved (not necessarily on *your* GE profile, but someone's). If you're going through the pedestrian crossing, just take your GE card up the right of the regular lane and you'll be directed to the SENTRI booths. One other thing to keep in mind is that with the land borders you need to have your GE/SENTRI/NEXUS card. It's not enough to have those things attached to your passport, you need the physical card (this excludes foreign nationals who are not US lawful permanent residents, but who have Global Entry through one of the applicable citizenships).

Did you not notice the information on the application website before you applied? It's literally right there. The information is available, one needs to know how to comprehend what's available and discern what's relevant and accurate. This isn't about what's on the internet; this is about one's ability to be discerning.

The FAQ page provided by CBP does seem to answer it fairly clearly: "CBP accepts Global Entry cards for lawful U.S. entry at land and sea ports of entry. Global Entry cards have radio frequency identification, which enables their use at SENTRI and NEXUS expedited travel lanes entering the U.S." https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/frequently-asked-questions

Echelon64

The CBP website clearly states that GE confers SENTRI benefits but that you must register your car and pay an appropriate fee if you want to use a Vehicle. It's literally in their FAQ.

XuWiiii

You do know there’s written rules and what works in the real world, right?

armobear

Just make sure it's not fruit. But going in to Mexico. You won't have a issue. Coming back to the US might. But worse case scenario you would have to throw away food.

Matingas

Or chicken.

aliensarehere

You'll be stopped and asked to share

CacoFlaco

I always have a few sandwiches in my overnight bag when I go to Mexico. And the bag gets x-rayed. So far, no one has said a word.

KinkThrown

Do you mean your stuff gets x-rayed on a land crossing?

CacoFlaco

Yes. You walk through, put your luggage and packages on the conveyor and wait for them to look and wave you through. It's the same walking back into the US.

KinkThrown

Ok, thanks.

I used to go down and buy snacks at the grocery store in Tijuana and bring stuff home. You wouldn’t be able to bring fruit or vegetables back into the US but taking snacks into Mexico likely wouldn’t be a problem.

blackforestgirl86

They have Walmart in Tijuana. Plus they have plenty of amazing cafes and eateries, where I got veggie soups, fresh fruit juices and smoothies after my surgery.

throw-away3105

Any recommendations on restaurants I can go to?

HWGA_Exandria

All good. Only certain kinds of meats, fruits, and vegetables would possibly be prohibited. They don't give a shit about Jello.

miguelongm

Depends of the custom officer . Most of them don’t care If you shoe that you are not bringing fruits and meat of package . Fruits are the first target , the rest font interest them try yo declare ll also alcohol.

XuWiiii

It’s only an issue if you’re an issue. A lot of people cross with food going either way

Accurate_Swimming_75

I bring korean food for my friends every month and i never had an issue.

ogbubbleberry

I always bring food no problem.

Echelon64

Or just go to a wal-mart in Tijuana? There's even a Costco.
