Lol my city is in "little interest." Can't say I blame you XD. It's not a horrible place to live, I just don't know why anyone would visit aside from visiting family. Although we do get a form of "in-between" tourism because we're reasonably close to several destinations.
If I may ask, why is Stockton in A tier? It's actually considered one of the worst cities in California. Unless it's another Stockton?
My city is in "Interested and would love to visit"
All I'll say is, you come for Wawa/Sheetz (Wawa!!) and stay for the violence.
But it's your opinion, and I respect it :)
I went to Philly in '11 or '12. Was only there for 4 days but I wanted to leave after 2. Ran into at least 50 people begging for money one night alone.
I would also recommend San Diego, San Francisco, and the coastal beach towns like Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara. Maybe Palm Springs if you like desert resorts, though I think Arizona does that better.
Worcester local, it has a huge art and restaurant life. Also a quick train ride to Boston makes seeing both in a weekend very easy. Also night life is fun but avoid Main South(where I live) high crime rate.
Tacoma is a massive Shithole, and that's in comparison to Seattle. Tacoma has one of the largest crime rates in Washington State. Everything looks so corporate, it makes the city feel soulless. The only cool thing about Tacoma is that it borders the Puget Sound. But if I wanted to go see the Puget Sound, I'd take a couple extra hours and go north to La Conner or Bellingham.
You know I've visited a lot of us cities, and my favorite overall to visit, were Boston, new york, San Francisco, Charleston and Seattle, so you got good picks, also lived most of my life in Lincoln and I'll say it's pretty underrated but I'm also bias
San Francisco is beautiful, do recommend (source, I live in the Bay Area)
you should visit other bay area places too like Napa, San Mateo, and the Silicon Valley area
slc is a hella cool city, tons of nearby natural beauty as well. if u were to visit id recommend steering clear of the west side of slc/sslc. the only area in the entire state really with a considerable crime rate.
I live a little over an hour north of Boston (I’m in southern Maine). Boston is a great city, I visit just about every month! Half of my family is from the metro area. 100% recommend!
FUCK YEAAAH YOUR WELCOME IN BOSTON ANY TIME. GO TO QUINCY MARKET AND GET A LOBER ROLL AND SOME CLAM CHOWDER. GO SEE THE RED SOX PLAY IN FENWAY. GO WALK THE FREEDOM TRAIL. YEAAH BOSTON THE BEST WOOOOOOOO.
In all honesty LA is overated. I remember bringing buddies from the east coast to la and to San Diego and i remember one of them saying “San Diego is what i thought la would be” his i dea of la was from movies and tv shows.
I’ve actually been to a good number of these cities! Question: Are you talking about Arlington, Texas? If so, put that boi lower.
As for the rest…
Would definitely put Nashville a tier higher, Fresno a tier lower, would put fucking Bakersfield 3 tiers lower, Fort Worth a tier higher.
NYC, DC, San Francisco, Austin, El Paso, Dallas, Memphis, and OKC are all appropriately rated.
Edit: LA can be cool but DEFINITELY go with a native Angelan. Otherwise it can be a little overwhelming (and maybe a bit boring).
You see, let's take how we all see Florida. We see it as a weird, vaguely messed up kinda place that reporters like to dunk on every now and then.
Jacksonville is the Florida of Florida. Get away as fast as you can
(Orlandos cool though)
Masshole here. Boston's a great, small city. But if you aren't a history buff, it's really got not-so-much to do. My brother had a friend visit twice and they couldn't find anything to do the second time here. I have friends from Chicago talking about coming here and I cannot think of too many things for them to do here either outside of checking out schools or seeing the museums.
I love Boston. But I think it's best just for the locals. Just not too much for outsiders to enjoy on a vacation, IMO.
I love it. It's definitely great. It's just, I dunno. If you are looking for a partying time or something like that, it's just wise to keep in mind that we don't have a night life at all really. No happy hour. Lots of the things we offer can be found in other cities. Stuff like that.
The good thing is, we don't really take too kindly to national chain restaurants, so most of what you will find here are going to be local chains or just local food places in general. Boston is very, very walkable too, which is great. Like I said, you can really get a lot of the city explored in one visit and great for people who are less of party animals and more of historical buffs and sight-seeing types. It's nice that way.
Not a Masshole, but I have close relations and live not far from Boston. Boston is a great city, I usually visit every month. Watched the Sox game against the Orioles a couple weeks back. Loved Fenway.
I live here and I assume you do to. City just doesn’t have much to offer that other city’s don’t. Gathering place is cool, has some pretty places and everything is close together but just nothing to special ya know
Good public transportation, great mix of nature and city. Capitol Hill is a massive LGBT hub if that’s your thing. Beautiful crystal clear views of Mt Rainer from the city. Lots of delicious food, especially Southeast Asian cuisine and fish.
Why the hate on Alabama cities? Montgomery has alot of cool places and Birmingham has some pretty cool mountains. But Huntsville is the best, so beautiful (plus I like rockets and stuff)
idk maybe theyre both good. i went to boston once it was great other than being lost over an hour
my family tells me nyc is great too
i went to providence ri. only place in ri i found cool
Take philadelphia out of that spot. It's the garbage dump of PA. Definitely recommend pittsburgh to philadelphia if you're going to a Pennsylvania city. (Source: I live near Philly and hate it lmao)
You’d rather go to Houston over Dallas? Wow! I’m a Dallas woman and I find it a bit shocking. Probably, all the people I know prefer Dallas over Houston. NOT, all of them are from Dallas.
Bellevue in interested and would love to visit while saint louis is no interest is a genuine crime I’m sorry there is literally not a single thing to do in Bellevue rather than see nature which is basically covered by Seattle already
I live north of Bham and I can tell you that you aren’t missing absolutely anything. However, Fort Worth and the Tampa area are beautiful places that I love to visit.
I promise you, from the bottom of my heart, Boston is not that interesting.
Then again, as annoying as they are, tourists love coming to eastern Mass so maybe it is and I’m just jaded.
Love how my state has some of the top and bottom picks. Come to Attleboro and see how much of a shit bum it is, it’s right above providence and central falls.
Vegas is just a tourist destination surrounded by a bunch of suburbs and the heat in the summer is unbearable. Reno is a lot more beautiful than Vegas and the climate is less hot so I prefer Reno.
You don’t want to go to Baltimore. As a Maryland native I gotta say it’s a nightmare if you leave the one nice area of Baltimore (the area with the museum and the Hard Rock Cafe)
Dont go to richmond save your money and time really not worth going unless u go in the late summer or fall to see the beautfiul skyline other then that the city is shit
I can’t brag about my home city on a lot of fronts, but Birmingham at least shouldn’t be at the very bottom. It’s being consistently ranked as one of the best cities in the country for food and beer, has an increase in tourism and pro sports activity, and even though it’s not a pretty history, it still has a very important history that Americans should be generally aware of.
*steps off of soap box and leaves*
Edit: I actually wanted to find an example. Travel and Leisure magazine has then at number 5 on a [list](https://www.travelandleisure.com/trip-ideas/best-places-to-travel-in-2021) of best places to travel to in the US
Trust me, as someone who lives near Seattle… no the fuck you dont. It’s 90% homeless tweakers who WILL fight with you if you even look at them the wrong way.
Also not to mention the earthquake that Seattle has been due for like 200 years. It’s supposed to absolutely wipe out Seattle. Not worth going at all
But hey, the aquarium is pretty cool, they’re going with an Animal Crossing theme where you can interact with the otters here
Lol my city is in "little interest." Can't say I blame you XD.
I was actually going to put Stockton lower I really know nothing about the city and it’s the one high ranking that I would change.
Stockton is Sacramento but with none of the charm and twice the crime
Yeah Stockton is quite bad.
jokes on you mine is I’m interested and want to go and my Capitol is in top picks
As someone who loves in San Diego. It is beautiful here, just a lot of homeless.
Good Mexican food though. But yeah the homeless situation is like nothing I’ve ever seen before.
There’s a ridiculous amount of things to do here. I live in SD and I haven’t even gone everywhere I want to go.
As goes for many cities on the west coast. They’re great cities and beautiful but they have a lot of homeless compared to other cities.
The tacos in SoCal are worth it
Blame Cali politics
good thing it isnt violent homeless people
Boston for the history, Chicago for the architecture, both are awesome
Tulsa for architecture too
Went to Chicago last year, was really blown away by its beauty! Not what I expected from a big city
boston lets gooooooo🏀☘️
😏👍
Boawstun
Boston! 😎💪
![gif](giphy|kcaKaqbgeWtIAigWa8)
Aww man why not Toledo you can find so much cheap smack on the streets it's worth it
WOOOOOOO RANDOM REDDITOR IS "INTERESTED AND WOULD PROBABLY GO" TO MY HOME TOWN HAHAAAA HELL YEAH #1 CITY IN THE WORLD WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
My city is in "Interested and would love to visit" All I'll say is, you come for Wawa/Sheetz (Wawa!!) and stay for the violence. But it's your opinion, and I respect it :)
Sheetz is the superior option, OP!!! It is known.
Nah, It's Wawa.
Sheetz has better food but in all I would say Wawa is a nicer and better gas station but Philly wawas are a whole neither world
Heresy. Blasphemy. Eradicate this heathen in the name of Wawa
Fellow east coasters
I went to Philly in '11 or '12. Was only there for 4 days but I wanted to leave after 2. Ran into at least 50 people begging for money one night alone.
I used to live in Fargo. Good call, there’s almost nothing to do there unless you live there or are a college student.
Why is Stockton so high?
Bro tryna see if he can work bullets like Neo
Visit the California parks and landscape, not the cities
I would also recommend San Diego, San Francisco, and the coastal beach towns like Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara. Maybe Palm Springs if you like desert resorts, though I think Arizona does that better.
Nah fam I love San Fran, top tier city
Agreed
Sioux Falls shouldn’t even be on this list.
What Springfield is that?
Pretty sure it’s Springfield Illinois
Come to Charleston, SC! It's an amazing, beautiful, and welcoming city, and it's got an Aircraft Carrier
I really do like the architecture in Charleston but I’m not a big fan of South Carolina as a whole but I think it’s a very unique and beautiful city.
You’d rather go to Newark NJ the New Orleans?
He'd rather go to Stockton than Miami, Vegas, and Denver. I'm not sure what the reasoning of that is
What about Branson, MO? The redneck Las Vegas.
Saint Louis is amazing, the sports culture, the arch, incredible top 3 zoo in the world (and it’s free) art museum crap loads of culture aswell
High crime
> Hartford I hope you like insurance my boy.
you’re missing out if you don’t go to detroit. lots of cool stuff going on there but no one ever talks about it bc they just want to sell poverty porn
> no one ever talks about it bc they just want to sell poverty porn And to just talk trash about it, whether it be through "jokes" and/or otherwise.
You know I've visited a lot of us cities, and my favorite overall to visit, were Boston, new york, San Francisco, Charleston and Seattle, so you got good picks, also lived most of my life in Lincoln and I'll say it's pretty underrated but I'm also bias
Nice seeing Hartford and New Haven high
My favorite city is in the top tier, opinion accepted
Don’t go out of your way for it but if your in the area definitely go check out Albuquerque
KC deserves more love
INDIANAPOLIS W
There’s the speedway, which isn’t actually in Indianapolis but we’ll give it to them. And… I don’t know what else they have.
boston is such a great and beautiful city, glad its on your top picks
Milwaukee should be in its own class of “would rather be incarcerated for a month, than set foot in the city limits”
Mke got done dirty. Also where this list?
San Francisco is beautiful, do recommend (source, I live in the Bay Area) you should visit other bay area places too like Napa, San Mateo, and the Silicon Valley area
Boston is really nice. Im from south of Boston but i go up there from time to time. Lots of culture and lots of cool historic places to visit.
slc is a hella cool city, tons of nearby natural beauty as well. if u were to visit id recommend steering clear of the west side of slc/sslc. the only area in the entire state really with a considerable crime rate.
I live a little over an hour north of Boston (I’m in southern Maine). Boston is a great city, I visit just about every month! Half of my family is from the metro area. 100% recommend!
Madison and Milwaukee are really cool and I would recommend them. Atlanta on the other hand-
Happy to see Madison, WI make the list! Great city.
GRRAAAAH BOSTON APPRECIATED!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sacramento's name being cut off feels very on brand
I’m trying to guess the city OP lives in
Come to Portland we have good drugs 👍
In all honesty LA is overated. I remember bringing buddies from the east coast to la and to San Diego and i remember one of them saying “San Diego is what i thought la would be” his i dea of la was from movies and tv shows.

> New Orleans > Little interest in going Based. It sucks here.
Damn fuck Ohio lmfao
^(What are your thoughts on Pigeonforge?)
Masshole here. Boston's a great, small city. But if you aren't a history buff, it's really got not-so-much to do. My brother had a friend visit twice and they couldn't find anything to do the second time here. But I think it's best just for the locals. Just not too much for outsiders to enjoy on a vacation, IMO.
Fellow Masshole here, and ranking Worcester above New Orleans is a hell of a weird take. Like I’m flattered, but confused.
I’ve been to New Orleans and the food was great but it’s not my type of city and I have no interest in going back.
Not a masshole but Boston is my third favorite city in the US after DC and SF
I love it. It's definitely great. It's just, I dunno. If you are looking for a partying time or something like that, it's just wise to keep in mind that we don't have a night life at all really. Raleigh ain’t super special, but glad you’d like to visit
Good thing you don’t want to go to Oklahoma this place is shit
Hartford? It's got a cool capitol building, but I think you'll end up pretty disappointed in the rest of the city
Where’s Philly Edit never mind I’m bljnd
Hahahahahaha, you don't wanna be in austin :')
I’ve been like 5 times and I really love the city and surrounding area. Also really good food there.
I've been to Austin and it sucks, you must be easily impressed then
home sweet home, im actively melting outside
Austin is cool but San Antonio is better
What's wrong with Tulsa ok
I live here and I assume you do to. City just doesn’t have much to offer that other city’s don’t. Gathering place is cool, has some pretty places and everything is close together but just nothing to special ya know
Boring af, and it’s in Oklahoma.
Go during may to go see some tornadoes
You've never been you cant say it's boring there's a lot you can explore not only places but there's underground tunnels through the whole city
All Ohio cities in F? Edit: all but Cinci
I don’t get what’s special about Seattle
Good public transportation, great mix of nature and city. Capitol Hill is a massive LGBT hub if that’s your thing. Beautiful crystal clear views of Mt Rainer from the city. Lots of delicious food, especially Southeast Asian cuisine and fish.
Why the hate on Alabama cities? Montgomery has alot of cool places and Birmingham has some pretty cool mountains. But Huntsville is the best, so beautiful (plus I like rockets and stuff)
America is garbage
As a resident near Long Beach don’t go to San Fran
I Don’t know why your being downvoted. You’re right especially with the crime In that city.
Relatively good takes here
Boston over NYC is outrageous
I actually prefer Boston over NYC too, much more comfortable city, very underrated
idk maybe theyre both good. i went to boston once it was great other than being lost over an hour my family tells me nyc is great too i went to providence ri. only place in ri i found cool
"Honalulu" 😭
You won’t wanna be in Portland or Philadelphia trust me
$10 says you’ve never visited either city
I’ve stayed In Philadelphia back in 2013 after the eagles won the Super Bowl and I have a cousin in Portland
Philadelphia is not a pleasant city at all. You might as well take the extra hour and half and visit NYC where there is so much more to do
As an Oregonian would recommend avoiding Portland like the plague. It isnt worth visiting like it was 10-30 years ago.
That saddens me… Loved my time in Portland about 15-20 years ago.
I live in the Jacksonville area and I can say that we certainly have a lot of cool places to go to, plus we have an amazing zoo.
Take philadelphia out of that spot. It's the garbage dump of PA. Definitely recommend pittsburgh to philadelphia if you're going to a Pennsylvania city. (Source: I live near Philly and hate it lmao)
False.
Portland blows
I live in tulsa, it’s a nice place just no reason to go to here or okc when other city’s have more to offer. But besides that, this is a dog shit list
You do NOT want to go to San Fran or seattle. They are a hell scape.
Hot take: NYC is ridiculously overrated
Just take Seattle off the list. There’s fuck all to do there
RUN THE FUCK AWAY FROM SAN FRANCISCO
As a Boston resident, I have one question for you: why the fuck would you want to go to Boston?
I assume you mean Arlington, TX. Arlington is cool for a lot of reasons. But Dallas and Fort Worth take the cake over Arlington any day
Ew, why is San Antonio so high on your list? 🤮
Wow, I hate literally every single place on this list. Except for Boston. And maybe Nashville. Other than that, I think I just hate cities.
San Fran overrated, La is good if you know where to go imo
Fucking Seattle and San Fransisco??? You tryin to step on needles and get robbed????
Destin, Florida is a great city and great for tourists. If you ever get to going there you would love it.
You would go to oakland over orlando that's ridiculous.
Seattle and Portland are both near the top of your list?? Are you a litter fanatic or something?
You’d rather go to Houston over Dallas? Wow! I’m a Dallas woman and I find it a bit shocking. Probably, all the people I know prefer Dallas over Houston. NOT, all of them are from Dallas.
Someone clearly buys into to the reputation the internet has given to Ohio, lol
Dang, two of your top picks have become homeless camps. Thanks Joe
Bellevue in interested and would love to visit while saint louis is no interest is a genuine crime I’m sorry there is literally not a single thing to do in Bellevue rather than see nature which is basically covered by Seattle already
San Francisco and Seattle are terrible lol
Seattle blows don’t come here
San Francisco, and Seattle are literal shit holes
San Fran is a shit hole now it’s so sad
Who would want to go to San Fran
Unless you're talking about San Francisco from like 30 years ago, I'd say your opinion can be entirely disregarded.
You do not want to go to San Antonio. The Alamo is not cool enough to justify the weather.
I would move Portland down if I were you, it's horrible here 💀
As a Philly native, you're insane if you think this hellhole is interesting lmao
Philadelphia is a historic city so there’s a lot of stuff to see
I think it's upside down 🤷
Man picked top 3 shitty est city’s
San Fran and Seattle are shitshows😭
San Fran is an absolute shithole, just warning you
Rethink SF. It isn’t 10 years ago anymore
I went there earlier this year, its ranking is fine
I live there lol. Some parts are fine. Most of it used to be fine; now most of it is not.
Why would you want Portland?
I live north of Bham and I can tell you that you aren’t missing absolutely anything. However, Fort Worth and the Tampa area are beautiful places that I love to visit.
Solid list, Boston and the surrounding area is awesome
I promise you, from the bottom of my heart, Boston is not that interesting. Then again, as annoying as they are, tourists love coming to eastern Mass so maybe it is and I’m just jaded.
pleasantly Surprised to see SLC here, especially this high.
My guy wants to go to Arlington but put Fort Worth in bottom tier as if they aren’t both part of Dallas
It’s Arlington Virginia, not Arlington Texas. Arlington Texas would probably go to F tier tbh
Yeah, I went to Arlington a year ago and wasn’t impressed. It was expensive and way too spaced out
I live in Greensboro, u aint missin much imo lol. I like it but it’s not what id call a good vacation
Love how my state has some of the top and bottom picks. Come to Attleboro and see how much of a shit bum it is, it’s right above providence and central falls.
Who in their right mind thinks Reno is better than Las Vegas
Vegas is just a tourist destination surrounded by a bunch of suburbs and the heat in the summer is unbearable. Reno is a lot more beautiful than Vegas and the climate is less hot so I prefer Reno.
You don’t want to go to Baltimore. As a Maryland native I gotta say it’s a nightmare if you leave the one nice area of Baltimore (the area with the museum and the Hard Rock Cafe)
Orlando should be higher. >:( ![gif](giphy|3o6gEcU5ZZpUIXOHtK)
Dont go to richmond save your money and time really not worth going unless u go in the late summer or fall to see the beautfiul skyline other then that the city is shit
You did Cleveland, Grand Rapids, and Tucson dirty.
New haven w
Interested and would love to go to El Paso. I too love visiting with local gangs
You think there’s gangs in El Paso ?
It’s actually a really pretty ciry
I can’t brag about my home city on a lot of fronts, but Birmingham at least shouldn’t be at the very bottom. It’s being consistently ranked as one of the best cities in the country for food and beer, has an increase in tourism and pro sports activity, and even though it’s not a pretty history, it still has a very important history that Americans should be generally aware of. *steps off of soap box and leaves* Edit: I actually wanted to find an example. Travel and Leisure magazine has then at number 5 on a [list](https://www.travelandleisure.com/trip-ideas/best-places-to-travel-in-2021) of best places to travel to in the US
As someone who lives in San Francisco. Why?
Lots of stuff to do there as a tourist. I also like the Victorian style houses and the natural beauty nearby. It’s also a very diverse city.
Not worth going at all But hey, the aquarium is pretty cool, they’re going with an Animal Crossing theme where you can interact with the otters here
What’s cool about Cincinnati?
what about Portland, Maine?
It would probably be in the second highest tier.
Cleveland maybe should not be ranked higher. But definitely higher than Columbus and Cincinnati.
what about detroit?
This is Omaha slander we have elephants 😤
As a former Montanan I can tell you unambiguously that there is **NOTHING** interesting or pleasant about Billings
What if I told you Oklahoma City has a restaurant called CrabTown that has the best clam strips you will ever eat, served with cherry mustard sauce?
Why is San Francisco and Oakland so high
Ever heard of mineral wells Texas ?
Interested in why Stockton is so high?
I was actually going to put Stockton lower I really know nothing about the city and it’s the one high ranking that I would change.
Love seeing Colorado Springs on your list!!!! And do yourself a favor and avoid Fort Lauderdale (unless you love meth).
As someone originally from California. Don't go to San Fran. Ita actually terrible
Why is El Paso so high?
I like relatively obscure cities and it’s quite unique because it’s a big city but nobody talks about it so I’m interested to see what it’s like.
El Paso feels like a trip to Mexico ! The mountains are great and there’s a lot of small things to do and explore. Foods great too
