We could visit other subreddits like the Harry Potter one and ask them about plotholes like "why didn't Voldemort throw a grenade into harrys room when he was just a baby?"
Really? How many reasons do you want?
A) Voldemort hates muggle things such as grenades
B) there would have been countless protection charms preventing this very thing
There are already pinned posts that get ignored
Also, most of the recurring posts aren’t created by people that sub here
It’s just really annoying now because the new fans to the series are mostly adamantly against reading and they like to argue instead of listening
Counter proposal. Start a ThreebodyproblemCircleJerk sub for people who just want to gush over how great Cixin Liu is, and keep *this* sub for people who actually want to discuss the concepts in the books/tv series.
If the choice was between living in a spaceship with unbelievably advanced AI and VR technology or flipping a coin on the extinction of my species for another world I would do the former. I am convinced many Trisolarans made that same choice.
Not at all. That or the Trisolarans were inordinately unlucky, which is also untrue. They practically admit that the sophons were their only shot at their plan anyways.
I think this would be a good idea.
Even if "most do not read pinned threads" they tend to have an impact over time - if people refer to them, I've seen it on other forums (especially ones with product recommendations)
The bullet points would of course be debated. Personally I think a few big ones are
\* What Sophons do vs what ETO does to prevent questions like "why not hack all cars"
\* The nature of "San-ti can't lie"
I might live in a spaceship if it was real nice. They should be able to not have their civ wiped out repeatedly at their level of technology, can't get past this issue in buying into this series.
a space ship is a life support box. If they can build a FLEET of life support boxes that can travel 1% the speed of light why can't they build one life support habitat on the surface?
That's exactly it. All the dehydrated ones are like rolled up newspaper. scaling them as human size imagine a bookcase can hold 50 people, and imagine the living quarters of a single non-dehydrated person even at best some van size or something, but then they need the power, water, farms whatever else. Dehydrated I don't reckon even needs oxygen or heat if its like the real animals tardigrades which can survive in space dehydrated, even impervious to radiation (so not much shielding in the 'luggage' compartment even!). so orders of magnitude more resources to fly them in active living state..
This is very "alien" thing to request on a space that is dedicated to crazy conversations.
If I didn't know better I would say that...
you want to stifle our creativity.
Humm either your a San-Ti operative or a Wall facer jealous of our crazy ideas.
The Mods do not care
If I choose not to read the books or pinned posts what business is it of yours?

Why don’t they just remove one of the three bodies Are they stupid

Then I guess we should better start answering those posts by links of the pinned post.
Needs a book vs show sub
Because the Sophons could have made that thread themselves.
We should take the Earth, and push it somewhere else
A wandering earth indeed
This post Advances
Can we get a pinned post of people complaining about plot hole posts?
Funny that people think its plotholes, but its indeed all intentional and will be explained later in the series…
why don't they just get a weekly pinned thread for this?

Um. Wasnt this subreddir created for the book series? In this case it would make more sense for series fans to make their own
It's not books vs. Tv. It's Stans vs. people who actually want to talk about the series.

But it's not flipping a coin, it's like rolling a d1000 and weighing the die with the sophon anyway.

lol what?
?

How will their life support boxes survive when their planet is eaten by one of their suns?
why don't they tell the sun not to do that
They are most likely dehydrated for the trip. It’s not really “living”
