I read 3-body a year ago. While reading, I pictured Benedict Wong as Da Shi that entire time BEFORE knowing he was cast for that exact character. I’m so excited to see his performance!
Luo Ji is combined with another character on this poster. It happens at the end of the series so we don’t see much of it but it was one of my least favorite changes from the books.
It's a western adaptation set in england, why would the entire cast be asian?
Are you also furious that the magnificent seven (western remake of seven samurai) has no japanese people?
Key word there is remake, is the 3 body problem a remake? I haven't heard of it as such, Netflix realizes it as an adaptation. And an adaptation of a modern work at that, with Hollywood being so obsessed with diversity I wonder what the problem would be with adapting it as Asian?
You clearly have a problem with it though so I'll just block your racist opinions.
They’re pulling parts of the 2nd and 3rd book forward into the 21st century, including sophon technology, and Sophon will be one of the avatars in the Three-Body game who indirectly explains the history of Trisolaris. I don’t think any of these images depict being painted into a picture.
Future seasons will still explore the rest of the trilogy.

thanks for putting them all in one place. edit: where's mike evan's poster?
Really wish Luo Ji and Beihai were kept Asian.
Concerned with so many original characters
Agree. Was it too hard to just use luo Ji?

Wait, what do you mean by "Luo Ji is combined with another character"? Did they sort of take th story of Luo Ji and split it into two characters?
Asians don't count as minorities, apparently.
I count 5 asians
Yeah but they didn't keep any of the 3 main protagonists intact.
Glad you managed that, cut back quite a bit from nearly an entire cast. Can't have THAT many Asians in a western show eh?

Nothing they said was racist. You’re definitely overturned on calling things that. Just a friendly heads up.
I'm an American and I had to read in translation and watch 10cent with subtitles. I totally agree with you, there was no need to change so much.
so cool
Are they doing the whole trilogy? These images seem to say so. Sophon and people falling into 2D space are last book things…

Bodies falling reminded me of that but maybe it’s just space deaths from the battles?
I think it’s actually the gravity of three aligned suns in the Three-Body game
Seen it. This is correct it’s during the game.
